I propose the following changes for IDOC's

Went to a very full Keep IDOC on ALT this morning and within ONE second of the house falling every single item was picked up by people using scripts to auto loot.

So I propose the following changes for IDOC's

    1) Anyone in the house takes damage from falling rubble.

    2) When the house falls, All items are randomly scattered.

If the dev's gods remove the ability to Auto Loot using scripts the problem goes's away. The way the system works now encourages's scripting and should be changed.

Dev's please consider these changes just to stick it to the cheater's.

    Thanks

Too much effort and how can people pack a full keep away?

You need lots of pack animals for that.

Impossible for a script to instantly pick up everything and place in a packy. The only difference between script and by hand is script is faster but it still only can do one item at a time.

I believe anything stacked above the first level of chests is disappearing (when the house falls) so this makes it look like a full keep was packed away when the only thing available was the bottom chest in each stack.

It's people cheating using "The cheat program" We all know this, if you think anything different your being nieve

You would be amazed. I have seen objects float from one end of the screen to another and then vanish at IDOCs--across the distance of a keep. So objects that were at the SW corner of the keep flew all the way to the NE corner and disappeared into an invisible person's pack.

I have seen evidence of at least one person who can run full tilt while remaining invisible. How did we figure this out--well the two packies charging across the screen following an an unseen owner was a big hint. My & my hubbie's character were the only characters visible on the screen. So someone else was present giving the packies orders. There was no one visible at the spot where the packies stopped either.

And if someone has mastered the art of running and remaining invisible imagine the possibilities in non-idoc situatuions.

    What my thief could do......

As for saying it is too much effort to deal with cheating at an IDOC, I disagree. Simply because this kind of cheating is probably applied to other game situations as well.

In fact stationing competent GMs at a nicley loaded IDOC and watching and recording the activities could be a very good way of catching scripters.

Things moving around the screen like they are going into the sky are old graphical errors. Probably same as what you saw.

You can run in stealth I think just not far, but even walking is pretty quick.

And as far as i know there is no BIG cheat program.
There is a program that works with uo with scripts, some program which is a better assist, but no big secret cheat program for a 13 year old game.

They changeD the timers for placing them what else do you want? I mean come on, a certain person places houses 90% of the time when it's a big house plot/luna plot (ATL). He obviously is just good at placing houses not scripting :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Exactly right. Stacked items disappear and things on higher levels are too. Nobody is looting jack.

This is true, had it happen at several IDOCs, even at a very bad IDOC with some empty chests and sometimes multiple chests at once too heavy for packies (which there were none). It would have taken a dozens of accounts to hold them all on the cursors. It's everything stacked on the bottom row. At first I though hidden scripters but its happening with no one else at the houses, the chests don't get looted they just poof.

There are a few people that have solo'd everything in the game, so they're obviously very good at what they do. Ditto w/ house hunters. Even fewer of either will tell you how they do it, allowing them to Remain the best. Want to know how they do it? Learn.

And there Have been GM's involved with what IDOC'rs do, Spada was one in particular.

I see no script available to do what you describe. Blaming others for your lack of skill and comprehension of game mechanic is wrong.

All items vanish with the home.

No one except owner/coowner can see the state of a home.

    I like this better......

All items teleport to my castle courtyard.

No one except me can see the state of the home.

Or we can just leave it as is, I do idocs all the time. I get some stuff, and I miss some.

the flying items are being dragged into packs and that is a graphic glitch, not someone grabbing sometihng from a long distance

the packies following a "stealther" are prob unbonded pets legging it when the owner recalls home

i do idocs and yes the upper chests are disappearing upon fall leaving only the bottom chest , like i said i hope this gets fixed

but there ARE script timers still, that stay WELL AFTER it turned idoc, no other reason to be there attended, and i won't listne to crappy reasons either, scritping!

i have longed for GM observation, but sadly for YEARS this has not been so, i cannot even get a GM to remove 2 script training UNATTENED necro mages that have been "at it "constantly for 4 days now, before i hear the , EC marco /UOA macro thing, NOBODY sits up fo r4 days at the screen watching a macro, so either scripting or unattended, BOTH bannable!

I don't know about the "everything" part that someone else was talking about, but there is at least one script that allows a user at an idoc to pick up a preselected item (or whatever) and place it into a pack. Obviously this would only work where you can see the item (house is open to the public) or is on the porch or something.

This needs to be fixed. Maybe make the house "explode" and scatter the items for several screens around. Can't pick up something like that if you're not standing near it.

What is this about the upper chests disappearing? I haven't been to an IDOC recently and have not seen this take place. How long has it been going on? Does it happen at every house fall?

So far as seeing things fly across the screen, I guess most everyone has seen that. When you see items flying sideways at an IDOC, you can tell there is a script looter. With the old graphics problem, things would fly through the air vertically, not horizontally.

If the powers that be are going to allow people to script, I wish they would just say so. I would like to do it, too. I have paid my dues doing it the old, slow, time-consuming no-script way. I would like some of the benefits the scripting players have.

As some people know I have done many Idocs I also have often wondered how a person could do or grab some stuff with out using a script. And its not a matter on how fast or good you are at grabbing stuff. As far as pulling stuff stuck in the air that is easy to do by going to the far SE corner and moving slow to the NW you can grab stuff stuck in the air. Now I have also saw people picking up things chest ect..... that were far to heavy to carry or put into a packy and teleport out? That always made me wonder how this was done. I dunno I just know that many times I was left standing there thinking what just happen:confused:

Those of you that want to argue that it is not an idoc script need to wake up. Just go and check the certain site that distributes the program and the scripts and you willl find the script there. The shard i play on has not had an issue with this very much as we do not have alot of public houses left to fall, but i witnessed it in action at a public house recently. A single player running four accounts, and yes i know for a fact it was one guy running all four accounts, positioned his toons at various places around the inside of the idoc. When the house fell everything in the near vicinity of his toons disappeared into his packies. There was not alot in the house just a few chests, but no one is quick enough to grab stuff on four different screens that fast. One chest which he did not have a toon parked at i managed to grab. I snagged a commodity deed box from it but it was too heavy and dropped back to the ground. I picked it back up and he surrounded me with all four toons so that when i finally had to drop it he could script it back up. The instant it hit the ground it disappeared. He through a lot of stuff back out cause he did not realize what he was he had I got two pair of old double blessed sandals with one bless in brackets and a vollum in a crystal which have total value higher than the commodity deed box on my shard anyway. Don't be naive people do run auto loot scripts at idocs.

I can confirm that some top level chests go poof. Some of the chests would not show until you stood right under them, like they got a visible range of 1 tile. No idea whats causing it.

The new bug on idocs was introduced with HighSeas, in the same timeframe that the devs were fixing the tremendous lag inside houses.

This bug not only does work on idocs, so if anyone want to test it.. all u need to do it:

    1. Place a house
    2. lock down a Table
    3. lock down a box on top of the table
    4. resize the house

    Result: box just dissapeared.

Not sure if this bug can affect to people customizing their houses too, im waiting for a fix to customize my house.

Ive submited this bug couple weeks ago via email to [email protected] and [email protected] but i didnt get any response at all. Then submited via PM to Cal, and he only answer me to ask if people call me "Los"... (sic)

So well, since this bug comes with HighSeas.. i guess Ive paid 60usd for this.

Scripting, not scripting, same ole argument.

We know peeps script, heck, I have a lot of peeps I know who freely admit to me they script. Only way to fight the scripting is to have the Gods intervene and end it.

What follows is personal opinion only, be warned:
We don't need anymore rule changes for idocs
The last one, where the spot was unplaceable for a period of time, only benefitted the scriptors. When a house used to fall, with a lucky click, you might beat the scripter. But not now, they can stand for however long it takes and try to place.
But a player with a RL, has kids, a spouse, a nature call, a phone ring, etc... And don't give me the song and dance about the tool usage timer either, anyone heard of multiiple accounts and multi-clienting?? yep, those rule changes were a boon to the scripters, imho.

Idocs are/were/should be, a free for all. I mean, it's all found money anyway...I go to em when I find em, and the way I see it, if I dont get anything but a few regs, its more than I had when I got there :)

But on topic, I agree scripts should be killed...but not by more halfbaked rules that will end up only benefitting the scripter.

I propose the following changes at IDOCS:

    * When the house falls, everything is deleted.

That sure would help the game economy and no scripting problems.

    Carry on.

I have done more than my fair share of idocs in my day. Although i rarely do them anymore (i just don't have the time). I can't tell you how many times i have been accused of everything you just described. However, i have never used a script and am very good at what i do.

You can run strealthed, I run all the time holding an item until my packies catch up to me and drop it in them. I have observed people using placing cripts, at some bigger idocs i have seen people use grab scripts to get rares. However, i have beat those scripts plenty of times and been accused of using them more than i care to think about. The things that people described in this thread can mainly be explained by experience doing idocs and observing what is really happening at them. Instead of just saying it is a cheat, simply learn by observing what is really happening. I never let people know how i do things, mainly because i have learned it over time and observation, I feel others should learn it the same way.

I am not the best idocer, but i can tell you for sure i am better than most. Scripts do happen for some things. However, most behavior at idocs that people think are scripts/hacks, etc really are not scripts/hacks. Just people who know what to do.

This is easy. Basically you would need the same mechanics as taming.

Items would have to be somewhat locked after the collapsing of the house and should not be able to be picked up. Instead you can open a context menu with a "Salvage"-option. When clicked, something similiar could happen like with taming. Above you char you'll see i.e. "*You start to salvage the item*", "*You remove some rubble*", etc. After a few seconds, i.e. 5 or 10 sec, the item lands in your backpack. You can only salvage one item after another. Also a "*Someone else is already salvaging this item.*"-Rule would be needed.

No Damage (What's the point anyway? If they don't die, they heal up.) No random scattering. No Scripting (well, yes, but the scripter will need 10 seconds per item). And best would be, it even would make sense in a role playing way.

Your idea will only help scripters. Who do u think can tame more animals in a hour in a closed place like the small jhelom farm? a scripter. If u think u can beat one, just choose any shard and try it. There are scripters 24/7 in that place. So.. who do u think will get most stuff on idocs if they implement your idea?.

The scripters already get all the stuff. Now if they can only loot 1 item in 10 seconds, it would take a lots of time, if only 1 person is gathering. Then everyone and not just the scripters would get some items...

Well, that is true... but i would prefer EA spends time to think on a way to get rid of the scripting program and not spend time adding new rules or systems to just slow down the scripters.

    how adout this

    LEAVE IDOCS AND IDOCERS ALONE

go after the scripters and script timers and looters

and fix the disappearing chests aswell

also, SHOULD a DEV be looking at this, before any thought of changes are made CONSULT the idocers, not the people that "claim" to be idocers after doing 2 or 3, are **** at them and want everything changed should have NO say here

i dont PVP so i keep my gob shut about the issues there

i for one have been doing them for years, over 1060 of them, seen many changes, most bad, ALL brought about by players who cry, then sod off and do something else anyway

    like i said

sort the 3RD PARTY PROGRAM out, go take a look at their website, see the scripts, read the info, learn to identify them working and block them, watch the status of the site, keep that magic red cross plastered over the status of the site(ie, ineffectual), with DAILY patches then say goodbye to something so EASY and illegal

I've reported a bug few weeks ago which causes a mis-calculation on your total weight so that you can carry way too much weight. I even showed the specifics to a GM. Maybe it is related.

And just to be clear on "GM's involved with what IDOC'rs do", Spada himself changed properties on a legally placed house to AID idoc'rs (he told me so), so I wouldn't trust that idea as far as I could throw it. It's not uncommon to have dishonest employees like that in mmog games. I am glad he's gone, as are others.
