    I'm holding out for a booster thats nothing buy new stuff, quests, monsters etc, in the classic dungeons like shame and destard.

    I think a virtue focused booster is a great idea. With that, I think it should include the following:

    - Revamp Anti-Virtue Dungeons (Deceit, Shame, etc)
    - New Anti-dungeon artifacts (like 20-30 new ones)
    - New Anti-virtue dungeon bosses
    - Finish the missing virtue abilities
    - Factions update

    We can't get rid of all of the existing spawn as we still need areas to train new chars. This booster idea would include new levels, with new monsters that fit the pre-existing monster themes. I would like to see new champ spawns in fel that drop power scrolls. How about an elemental spawn or an orc spawn. The anti-virtue dungeons need doom like drops and 20+ new arties that actually compete with imbued pieces. And of course, this would be a good time to reset faction points and reinvigorate this system.

    The only problem I see is how you limit this content to the new booster. I guess the champ spawns, new dungeon levels, new bosses, new virtues, and new faction perks (items maybe) would be limited to those who have the booster. Those that don't have the booster would just get to see the monster updates in the existing dungeon levels. Maybe these levels would only have "minor" anti-virtue arties and the "majors" would fall only in the new lowest levels.

    I also think the existing drop system in the anti-virtue dungeons is good. You don't need to limit items to the bosses, but let "minors" fall in your pack when you kill enough spawn. There could also be a way to turn in these minors at the virtue altars for "major" rewards. Heck, the arties could even be virtue themed where you need 10 compassion marties to get a compassion major at the compassion altar (for instance). Lots of possibilities.

    Just some thoughts for discussion.

    Boosters to fix some overpowered utilities you currently get from free:
    Bank booster: for 15$ allows you to access your bank box.
    Moongate booster: for 15$ allows you to use moongates.
    Dungeon booster: for 15$ allows you to enter dungeons.
    Golden Skull booster: for 15$ allows you to use golden skulls.
    Bug Fix Booster: for every 15$ spent you ll get a patch for one bug fix.

    More elaborated boosters (that actually boost something):
    Luck booster: Per 10$ spent, grants you an additional 100 luck for one hour
    Powerscroll booster: Per 10$ spent, gives 1% bump chance the next powerscroll you receive by one level.
    PvP booster: Per 10$ spent, grants you 1% chance to block the next attack you receive (damage or magery).
    Paypal booster: as much as you want. Does nothing, but accepts paypal money (An additional fee of 1$ will be taken per each paypal transaction).

    Well, since we have ninjas and pirates now, I'm going to put my money on teen vampires as playable race. Maybe werewolves in the same pack. Course, there could be a wave of money to be made by making it into 2 more booster packs.

    Seriously speaking, they better put some damn free content in that is substantial. I better not have to pay for too much more because my monthly fee is more than enough for this booster that I paid for already. This booster business is on thin ice for me. If we keep this route then UO needs to go F2P and give this stuff to people with active subs.

    New all Trammel ruleset shard.

    Quick and easy to setup, and they would make tons extra selling transfer tokens.

    So Umm we are completely giving up on publishes and calling them boosters now? So we are paying for updates that we normaly used to get for free is that it?

    I really hope the next booster will be a trammel based PvP system with little to no negative reprocussions. While there is very little in the way of negative reprocussions in Fel, I think the simple IMPRESSION that there are reprocussions drives a lot of people away from PvP. And hey, I want to see a lot more PvP going on - OODLES :)

    The newest iteration of factions is a good first step with basically free items but the developers need to go a step or two further in catering to the trammy crowd.

    The next booster will be called the" BUG FIX". For $14.99 the devs will fix the bugs to the previous booster. You will get no free items but will have a bug free booster (subliminal message to buy more product) with the purchase of this booster.

    Then the next booster after the above will be a "BUG BUG FREE" booster for $14.99. That booster will be for fixes on bugs the devs missed to fix with the "BUG FIX" booster. No content but with more headaches guaranteed for player statisfaction.:thumbup1:

    They are still putting out publishes, including the Magincia rebuild and ongoing in game story events, as well as halloween (I assume!) events, and 13th anny stuff.

    Boosters are just replacing expansions.

    I hope so. Though as a expansion usually has alot more content and priced 30 and above while a publish with some new things is usually free. Well I guess only time will tell. For example a new faction system should not be a booster as well as many things mention in this thread should only be publishes.

    Thats because we get 2 boosters a year rather than the one expansion a year (if were lucky). And there haven't been any really major additions (skills new lands etc) outside of an expansion for a really long time. I think the last skill we got for free was stealth and that was like geeze... 8 years ago? More maybe?

    I for one am fine with factions being a booster. It needs some devoted developer time, they have been kinda half assed with it so far, and factions needs major work.

    Division of Doom, Old Artifacts are rotated into the minor artifact pools and new artifacts are introduced. 14.99 and if you choose not to upgrade your only eligible for the old artifacts.

    I like to see a booster that would make making cannon supplies less of a PitA Timesink so that those who do have the crafters and playtime to make the stuff can do so without spending 8 hours a day doing just the cannon supplies and only being able to make enough to give 20 players 25 shots each.

    Considering that most of the players are non-PvP, it would have to be a pretty decent "plus some add-on for the non-pvp fans" to get the non-PvP fans to buy it and make it a profitable booster. If only the PvPers and PKers buy it, it won't be profitable.

    Simple fact of life in UO. The players are playing it to have fun, but most of them are not playing it to be fun for others.

  27. If I had a hand in deciding the next booster(s) here is what I would want to see.

    *New playable races specific to UO. Ophidians,Juka,Meer ect ect.

    *New factions added (or redone completely) for each race.

    *Finally finish the virtue system.

    *Add new styles,graphics wise,to legacy armor and weapons.

    *Add cloth armor for humans/elves.

    *Make wrestling (martial arts) a viable,stand-alone,fighting option.

    *Add a type of auction hall in Brit or Luna

    *Add spells to chiv and necro spellbooks.Perhaps as many as 24-32 spells total?

    *More custom options for our characters. More hair-do options,skin color options and face options.

    *Add more imbuing choices such as making a weapon 100% in one element. If I have an ogre slayer and I usually hunt frost ogres,allow me to add 100% fire element if I have room for the mod.

    That already exists and it takes no room. It's called enhancing. I'd rather have them allow us to remove an unwanted mod from a weapon; but it should be free, not a booster...
     
  29. It's called 'enhancing' for some,but for me it's called 'destroying an item'. I have very bad luck trying to enhance anything to the point I don't even consider enhancing an option.

    pvp booster = 5000 units sold. no new pve content for 1 year -> many pvers leave -> more devs cut
    pve booster = 30000 units sold

    New tram shard + super peerless booster with free character slot FTW. Tons of units sold + tons of transfer tokens.
     
  31. The next booster may be a Classic Shard. This way, all you CS fanboys can put your money where your mouth is, and the rest don't have to play it if we don't want to.

    If enough can support it, it will live, or else go by the way of Siege (sorry Kelmo).

    Arguably, I would have thought that given the interest by people not currently playing UO, there's more potential long-term benefits to not only selling such a booster itself, but the subscription revenue from returning players.

    If the response to the current booster is anything to go by, it hardly seems like the "more stuff" and "more monotony... click...click" approach has exactly received overwhelming support, has it?

    Suffice it to say, I really don't think offering a "classic" booster would fare any worse than what's currently on offer, so why not give it a try? Indeed, I think it would fare better. The potential (note that word carefully, I'm not inclined to make up fictional numbers...) revenue from a "classic" option/booster may not only provide those who support such a thing with what they're after, but also aid and support what you and the current player base prefers too.

    To my mind, that's win-win and UO keeps going for a few more years. An opportunity not to be sniffed at.
