(Idea) Crafting Tools Improvement Needed!

    FACT: We know that crafting tools must keep the uses.
    FACT: We must burn resources/money to make tools.

    PROBLEM: You need hundreds of tools and the relative space for keep it.

    SOLUTION: Make tools stackable like the bait! When you stack 2 tools the uses will be united.
    This way you keep have uses and spend money/resources, but you have less items around the house/world. It's also the best way to craft many items with the new "Make Max"/"Make Number".

    example: if you stack a tool of 150 uses with another of 200, you got 1 tool of 350 uses.

    A solution of sorts, but it doesn't narrow down the amount of clicking we do. Allowing us to craft 1000 use tools for a lot of ingots would solve that.

    it will reduces the click, because if you stack a tool of 150 uses with another of 200, you got 1 tool of 350 uses.

    As I said, the stack should use the bait system ;)

    Also - my GM tinker wearing a 20+ tali should not, under any circumstances, be able to produce a tool with less than 100 uses. Drives me NUTS. And we can't melt the crappy 50 uses ones down for scrap. As someone who regularly undertakes bulk potion orders (last one was 230k of mixed pots) I LOVE make max, but only on tools with over 100 uses. Being able to combine tools into a large number of uses would be wonderful; I could do a run of 300 total refresh without all the extra clicking that low use tools gives me to do. Doesn't sound like much over a run of a few k, but when you're into a couple of hundred k, it starts getting very annoying indeed!

    So, as well as being able to combine tools, lets get it sorted so that a GM tinker produces a tool worthy of her skill level please!

    why not?
    you stack 1000 uses, then you select an item then click "Make Max" with enough resources on your backpack:

    1) 1 click drag resources
    2) 1 click open the tool
    3) 1 click select the item
    4) 1 click make max

    = 4 clicks total

    now if you breaks the tool you have to start again from 2) every time, so you save 3 click x broken tool.
    If for example you have to build 1000 items with 10 tools of 100 charges each, you save 30 clicks with stacked tools :)

    I agree with that, But I still have to click 10 tools to merge them together or whatever to get 1000 uses. Why not skip that all together and let us craft 1000 use tools?

    for the same reason that we can't have tools with unlimited uses/repairable...
    There is a rule wrote somewhere that says: nothing last forever (or for more than 200 uses) :D

    However, the stackable idea will works for runic tools too ;)

    about the example, even by stacking the tools you still use 14 clicks instead of 30 :)

    Allowing them to stack like bait, very nice idea. While they are at it maybe they will one day finally add an "Ancient Tailoring Thimble" that gives a +60 bump like the ASH does. Been waitin' and waitin' on that, seems to just be a pipe dream tho.

    You are obviously not a cook :p 200+ uses are comon with excwptional tools for a cook.

    But yeah this would be an improvement stack tools hell i dont even mind if i have to separate them just want to lessen the space they take.

    Aye, and THAT annoys the hell out of me too - best use on a pestle and mortar was, I think, about 150 or so. Best use on a skillet, 200 plus. Made by the same char, same tali, same skill level, etc etc. What is THAT all about then?

    yes, I have cooking, but let's be realistic:
    They made HS and they made a huge amount of part for firing cannon.
    Cooking has characoal: 1/200 use = unlimited characoal at once
    Alchemy has potash and black powder: 1 use per and you need to waste lot of tools and time

    Cooking doesn't need 200 uses and alchemy (and all the others) has too few uses... without count the stonecrafting & bowcrafting tools that cannot be made so no exceptional at all...

    Stackable tools will give us a less stressful crafting gametime :p

    I would love to see this done with all crafting tools, great idea.

    I, quite happily, would spend some time making and combining 10k+ use tools so that I don't have to stop and reload all the time when I start on a crafting spree.

    Could runic hammers, kits, etc be included also? DC hammers as an example take a lot of space for me. Would be great to be able to combine them into 500 use tools. Would be a good market for such an item too I believe.

    I'll sign that one too, with the runics. My smiths bank has nearly 100 storage slots filled with low end runics - copper, shadow, dull copper.

    well do away with those things that only let you make them 99 times and move them up to 999 and you now have 300 items for three clicks

    I like this idea. I think they could use the concept of the baits on a lot more items... like PoF too.

    I gave this idea months ago after going on Test and seeing the tools they gave in the Bank Box. It would be great to make the tinker products uses stackable.

    The cut back on bank trash would go a long way, and secure space too.

    I'd like to see the same on the shovals and picks you get from bods.

    They could make a master tool, something that you drop on it or click on it to add the same items in your bag to it.
    Sewing kit, Hammers, Tinker tools, etc... its a great idea.

    No, if such a feature would ever be implemented, runics should not be included.

    I see your concern, but to my knowledge there isn't an active dupe that is still working?? Haven't heard about anything in quite some time at least, who knows.

    what's the problem with this system and duping?
    if they dupe they still have 2000 copy of the same item so nothing change...

    The server will have less item around and that's the right thing ... who cares about dupe :p
