Idea for future artifact distribution

    With all the dungeon revamps and new boss encounters I wanted to throw out an idea for consideration by the players and hopefully the Devs. I am sure this is not a new concept, but I think it is still worth bringing up.

    On of my biggest frustrations with artifact drops is continually getting the ones I don't need. Taking a note from the Exodus drop, I think it would be great to get a certificate of commendation from whatever boss/mob you are fighting that would be redeemable for an artifact selection from that boss/mob. With this option players could claim the reward that fits their needs.

    It would be great to have a drop system like this applied to existing bosses, but I would be happy to see this style of reward added to future revamps/encounters as well.

    This is an interesting idea, and sort of goes along with what the Wisp outside Despise does by providing a variety of artifacts that can be purchased with "dungeon currency". Thanks for the suggestion!

    i would suggest the same as always but when you get a drop you have a random chance to get the certificate instead

    This is why I loved the Treasure's of Tokuno events. Though those arties require revamp, the concept of turning in 10 minor arties for your choice of a major artie of choice is a great example to follow. ToT would be a great event to update and emulate with new arties and maybe in the Abyss or game-wide.

    Clean items with higher imbuing weight. Clean random items with higher imbuing weight and 6 mod slots. Random items that have properties not on the imbue list but rest of the item free to imbue. Like shield with 10 - 20 Parry or weapons with 10 - 20 of their matching skill and armor with elemental damage % reduction. Theese mods would carry no weight leaving the item 5 open mod slots for imbuing and can be enhanced. Let the players make their own unique items.

    I like some of these ideas. Glad to see the Kyronix is ob here and sees this thread. Just don't want to make it too easy to get everything.

    I agree with this completely. It was a very successful system, it just requires quite a bit of new artifacts added to the game (both minor & major), especially if it were a game-wide system. definitely do-able though.

    I still think there should be more to buy/assemble with the dungeon crystal points, I also think there should be a form of dungeon points for each dungeon, so far Wrong Dungeon is the only one without points I believe.

    mmh yea this I can relate too. I usually solo most of these bosses, so it takes a while and getting no drops is disappointing. Though I don't think any single player should have a 100% chance to get an artifact when soloing any bosses. but I do believe there should be some kind of system in-place to help groups give a bonus to drop chance and not just for one person participating (like the current system), but for everyone.

    example of what I'm trying to get out there...

    The drop-rate should be Increased base on having more players eligible for looting rights on the said encounters (premote-group-play), a party can hold up to 10 people (with the current party system) say add +5% greater chance of an artifact drop per player & factor in luck as an additional +5% for every 1000 luck into a group bonus as long as the entire party totals up to 10,000+ luck there should be a 100% chance of someone/all players getting some kind of drop from a boss encounter.

    It's not exactly easy to get a full party (10 people) to go kill a peerless/champ w/e.. on some shards atleast...

    Should be more item drops that only a party can earn. The number of players in the group, and the amount of gold the party leader tithed should improve chances to a limit. No more then 50/50. And lesser caps for the sweeter items. There should be hunts where the soloist is treated to the gypsy moonstone jewelry drop rate of 1 in 25,000. What drives the desire is the is the uberness and the drop rate. But in the world of UO there are many players that thinks everyone should hit the Sosaria Powerball every time they try.

    I think the armor/weapons with a higher weight capacity could be a cool thing except they aren't naked the fall just like every other item...BUT :spoiler: skill revamp!!!! Item ID!!! You have to item I'd the piece and it gets a name so you know it has a capability of 6-7 mods with a random weight of 550-650! And a turn in spot for item ided pieces for cool title..Novice Artifact Hunter-Legendary Artifact Hunter..now that would be cool plus I could take my ID off my stone :D

    If there were a system like this the drop rates would have to go way down as well. Too much content now a days is based on time spent doing the same thing over and over trying to get the result you want. If you can get the thing you want right away, content doesn't last.

    edit: So maybe rather than a drop of a turn in coupon, maybe you get an item from the creature (as proof of slaying) that you can then turn into an royal npc for fighting against the evils in the world, then you could cash points in for items.

    That way you would get what you want, and it would still take time.

    Maybe points could be lumped by groups of bosses, like all doom bosses, or all champ spawn bosses, all peerless, and all abyss bosses. And they would share reward pools.
    You could still even then have really rare drops on the monsters as well if you wanted to.

    Or you spend your time ingame playing and doing the things you think are fun, rather than doing some boss you really dont like over and over and over just because you need the one artifact drop that the RNG never seems to give you.

    150 and what an average of 30+mins per and thats being generous. A lot of wasted time for a small %. let us build points like doom at least. i mean you could have the worst luck in the world and never get a slither............ spending 100+ hours for one item you would liek for a suit is a bit XXXXXX.

    I'm not supporting it. I'm just saying that recent design has been small amount of content implemented in a manner than it takes a lonnnnng time to get it, giving the impression of more substantial additions.
