IDOC question about vendors.

I'm not very familiar with droptimes on the rates of IDOCs with vendors. This one IDOC house I found has one vendor but it has nothing on the vendor. So shouldn't it drop when the house normally would? Or does it have to wait for all the gold to run out?

    Thanks!

I could be wrong about this, but if I remember correctly: if the vendor is owned by the house owner, it will drop when the house falls, but if it is owned by another player, then the house will not fall until the vendor runs out of gold and drops first.

I use a vendor to store gold on, and he has enough for something like 600,000 RL days. So if I quit I could just use my second account to place a vendor, move all the gold to that and giggle knowing no one will ever have my house spot for the rest of UOs life?

    kinda silly

Actually with a rented vendor the house will go into decay 3 months after non payment on the account. Instead of dropping after the idoc phase is over it will go "owned by OSI" until the rest of the current contract runs out (even if set to auto renew it will just finish up the month or whatever), then it will go into a special vendor crate and then the house will drop. I think it spends a week in the crate, so time the fall from when the vendor vanishes.

Hah, I'm not too certain about my info either. OSI houses are notoriously frustrating. There was an OSI luna house on Baja a week ago, and it should have poofed this morning at 3 AM, but it fell and was replaced 2 days after it went OSI. Sigh. I really wanted that max storage luna house, hehe.

    As I understand it:

If the vendor is owned by someone other than the house owner, the contract for the vendor ceases to renew and the house will decay after the existing contract term for the vendor expires.

There are 6 stages to the decay of a house in most instances, and possibly 7 in the occurence of unexpired rental contracts. These stages, in order of their occurrence, are:

    Like New
    Slightly Worn
    Somewhat Worn
    Fairly Worn
    Greatly Worn
    In Danger Of Collapsing
    Demolition Pending*
When a house passes through the "In Danger Of Collapsing" stage (commonly referred to IDOC), the house and all of the add-ons in that house (ovens, looms, forges, etc.) will disappear. Any remaining items in that house will fall to the ground. Clicking once on these items will release them so they can be picked up and moved.

According to UO-Support page the length of time for a house to decay can vary from 4 to 7 days, with each stage of decay generally lasting anywhere from 1 to 2 days. Experience shows that each stage last about 24 hours, except for Like New (about 50 minutes) and In Danger of Collapsing (reportedly 7 hours and 13 minutes).

If a house "In Danger of Collapsing" has vendors in it at the time of collapse, it will enter a "Demolition Pending" phase and appear as being owned by OSI. This phase can last as long as it takes for all vendor rental contracts to expire, plus 9 days for the vendor owners to retrieve the items from their expired vendors. During this period, the house decay status may be automatically refreshed several times to keep the house from collapsing.

Once these waiting periods have passed, the house will be allowed to decay normally once it goes through its "In Danger of Collapsing" phase.

Houses that enter this "Demolition Pending" phase have done so after going through a normal house decay process. This is done so that players with vendors in one of these houses will not unexpectedly lose their goods due to the house owners negligence
