I know there were several. I don't mean to come off as a vulture, but it is what it is. The house is going to fall.

What was your best prize? I snagged a nice bag of runic hammers out of the Minoc tower and called it good.

Two castles i got yesterday, sold one to Freja and gave one to Superstition. Many clothing bless deeds and other thingies. I believe Mr. X probably got the best of em all though.

Very nice! I am really picky as to what I take these days. Like I need more dye tubs... The runics were nice.

I grabbed the server birth? open book, that is all I really wanted. Rest was just a bonus. I did get 5 full SS the other day from the various castles and a bunch of frags and heirtage tokens and cbd deeds. Oh ya and about my 1 billionth dye tub. Got some rubble plants too. All in a days work.

I'm getting annoyed with IDOCs. Since they tend to happen at the same time every day (when I'm at work), I can never participate. So everyone else gets all the good stuff.

QFT! They get the IDOCs pretty much unchallenged during the week, and when the weekend IDOCs happen, the whole shard is there to fight over them.

Maybe an IDOC house shouldn't fall, though it cannot be refreshed by the owner, it just sits there.

With the IDOC house sitting there without a timer on it... it is left to US to decide its fate. They need to introduce siege weapons that take up control slots, battering rams and catapults to knock the thing down. The building should have hit points, maybe around 200k hit points, so if one person was trying to knock it down, it would take several hours, it should take a group effort, 10 battering rams and catapults should be able to knock it down in 20 to 30 minutes.

While they are at it, make camping a viable skill. GM Campers can set up a siege camp which is secure storage for the siege weapons while logged out ( once logged in, there is no such protection ). The siege weapons also have hit points, they are prone to damage by fire and blunt force, they are made by tinkers with components from blacksmiths and carpenters. The catapults would fire the stones harvested from mining, and those can be infused with blackrock for extra fire damage. The siege weapons can be operated by hired NPC's or the player, with the obvious advantage going to hiring NPC's, freeing you up to defend them while they attack.

The NPC's would be a new type, specially trained for siege weapons and outfitted for more protection, making them harder to kill than regular NPC's.

It would be nice if the owner of the house could defend it with buckets of tar from the rooftops or dig a moat around to prevent battering rams ( which would need to be filled with sand from mining ), but that really would never happen, as the IDOC is an IDOC because they havent logged in in a while.

They could just make the buckets of oil fall anyway...just preprogramed into the whole idoc cycle.
    I like that idea NS.

That's true, but not everyone has a cube house, some of the vat placements would require intelligence, at least on customizable houses, castles, keeps, towers and all other pre-fabricated houses would be able to do this easily.

Just imagine the battles that would rage on while the siege was taking place, opposing factions and/or guilds destroying each others siege weapons and putting each other in stat!

What if carpenters were allowed to repair the damaged house to keep it up longer until his guild/faction mates arrived to clear out opposing looters!

I've always thought that the customizable building should require the proper materials to build each section of wall, not just gold.

Stone walls obviously would require stone, plaster walls would need a sand and crushed stone mixture, etc... The style of the wall should determine its strength for the siege, but that would cause everyone to use only stone walls and the houses would be ugly, so that would be a bad idea, all styles have the same HP.

Turning an IDOC into a form of a Siege would be fun, but I doubt the programmers would do it.

I'd just settle for when the server goes down each night, and the houses turn IDOC, the IDOC timer is set at between 0-23 hours instead of 5-7 hours (or whatever it is).

BAH ! I been gone since the 5th and my entire neighborhood has changed !!

House in front of me musta collapsed and I log in to see it was gone and I have a new neighbor in front of me by the Skara Veggie gardens now.

NEW moves went over there, big keep empty with lil book tellin me they are moving.

And my vendors, have not been restocked, may try to restock a few today !

I been playing vet and nurse to a recovering sheltie, hand feeding it food for it's stitched intestines, feeding him pills every few hours and getting a shoulder pulled out nearly cuz the Knight is growing stronger daily and is not fond of collar on his head nor being LEASH led in his own home. But we can not have him pop his stitches AGAIN ! $$$$$$$$$$$$ Confinement for several more days, but we are glad he is HOME now !

Sooo I wonder what my new neighbor will do ......with their new home in front of me, a SKARA Brae veggie garden soup factory ???????? :)

i dont give a **** how long i haven't played UO in, IDOCS still bring a smile to my face. I made fortunes off of plotting and camping idocs until i became strong enough to turn them into killing fields.

At least on siege IDOCS have always been in fel with fighting rules, cause otherwise in trammie town that **** is gone in seconds and its all about where you were standing and how many pack horses you had.
