if there was 1 thing that you could have back in the game that they have removed what would it be?..something that really could be inserted back into the game without a buncha BS tied to it..what would you want to see again?..
myself i would like to have back the named body parts...to be able to carve up someone ya killed and have the torso of so n so, head of so n so....sure making jerky might never be seen again..but come on!!..this is UO..this was one of the MAJOR things that made uo unique ...being able to cut off the head of someone you killed and actually have it say..the head of so n so...the bounty thing will probably never come back because of the flaws in it...but give me back my ability to carve and get my named body parts please!!!!

Moons system for Moongates... give each facet it's own schedule and give us moonstones to travel between facets. Inconvienient? Somewhat. Much more interesting? Definitely.

  5. Official message boards, where your posting account was tied to your UO account.

That seems to be a thing of the past though.

Costs too much money to police.

These are not exactly things I want "back" so much as I want implemented to the 2D client that I dearly miss from 3D.

    1 - DOCKING ICONS!!!!
2 - The ability to see the color of something (such as cloth) in the NPC purchase window.
3 - Pet bars that are 1/2 the size of people bars.
4 - The ability to give something to a person or pet by dropping it on the status bar!!!

  11. Being able to gather vegetables from farms at a decent rate.

  12. I miss the old days when you could drop a moonstone to Fel when someone was talking a bunch of trash. Almost everyone would be like "Oh, well this isn't my PKer. He's perma-red and on another shard.....blah, blah, blah."

Rares for sure! EM rares or even old rares, like the once a month spawners, empty jar, rares are somethin to strive for! [IMG]

Overland spawn increase and randomization. Even as a well-skilled warrior how are you going to know when an orc camp is going to pop up around the next tree?

Random dungeon mobs in the land ... just every so often an Earth Ele is found wandering along the Brit-Skara road. Just about anything up to somewhere in the area of a Drake ... spawn it randomly. Ohhh! A camp of Skels, Mummies and a Wraith just popped up!

I brought this up at Townhall and they said it was due to the teen rating of the game. Now if the rating were Mature, then I could see this happen.

  21. YES!!!! That was great. Also taught me humility a couple times by having to beg the guy that dropped the moonstone to shut me up for a tram stone to get back after he left me butt neked and bleeding in Jhelom.

  25. as i would love to think back on one of the many many things i would like brought back, im going to waste my post and say to FIX LIFE BARS, theres so many problems with them, especially when in party
if someone looses connection and logs back in its screws up all the bars and you have to get everyones bar again
then theres the 12 person limit to parties
    i could go on

I would like to see the SKILL LOCKS reverted. This changed the game dramatically. I hate skill locks! At one time if ya didnt use it youd lose it!

I loved Abyss Shard [IMG] It was the best non-production shard they have EVER had up and running.

I think I was blue. And didn't we ally with purple for a short time? I remember ankhs at the demon temple signifying this...

    ...not to derail. Sorry !

  43. DYNAMIC RESOURCE SYSTEM.

In my opinion, the best feature that has ever been planned for Ultima Online, and never made it into production, due to massive performance issues. Here's an explanation of what it is (an excerpt from Raph Koster, first Lead Designer of Ultima Online):

    - - - - - - - - - -

Each creature in the game was defined in terms of its needs. For example, dragons required huge amounts of meat to survive, and sought out gold (and if they found it, were supposed to carry it back to their lairs). The use case which was described in the design documents was that a dragon would have a lair, and seek in widening circles for food. Should a player hunt out all the deer in the environs of the lair, the dragon might end up finding its meat at the local village. Then you could solve the issue by either feeding the dragon (herding deer to its cave, for example) so that it didn't need to hunt so far, or by slaying it. An example of how simulationist design can result in a more dynamic environment.

In practice, the search radius ended up being a screen or so, pathfinding couldn't even solve a straight line at that distance, and it was too darn slow anyway. No dragons ever raided villages, and the UO creatures turned into AIs stupider than your mobs in a run of the mill text mud.

During alpha, you saw wolves taking down rabbits and deer and eating them, etc. Eventually, creatures were supposed to pick lairs, hoard their earnings there to be discovered, do area searches for things they desired.

Problem with the moonstones is people would use them to raid felucca spawn champ in the dungeon. they would have to be changed to pevent this but yes i liked the moonstones!
