We have been told that Gargoyles won't be able to use most Elf or Human equipment and the opposite. This is quite interesting and raises two questions.

First, will we be able to transfer properties between Human/Elven to Gargoyle items? Many people including myself might not even make Gargoyles simply because they won't be able to use their expensive/rare/favourite items. At least make it more user-friendly so that we can create Gargoyle versions of our suits without great loss in properties and all. I've spent not only gold and cash but ALSO TIME and resources and tools building my suit. Making a Gargoyle and trying to get a suit like that all over again would work as an item wipe in cases like mine which is a bit unfair.

Second, will there be further separation among Human and Elven equipment to match this? I see noone complaining about Gargoyles having separate gear as they did with Elves so maybe it's time to reconsider this.

Adding a bit more to the first question, SA better have boss mobs that drop Gargoyle equivalents/replacements of existing artifacts either from Doom or elsewhere that are extremely popular, such as the Crimson Cincture or Ornament Of The Magician or Rune Beetle Carapace. Otherwise by definition Gargoyles will suffer from much weaker equipment as it is now.

None of us know for sure, but I think some of what the devs have said sheds some light on this.

There are lots of enhancements coming for crafting, so theoretically we'll be able to build decently modded suits fairly quickly.

Also, there will presumeably be gargoyle gear you can get in SA, new suits, etc.

if humans cant wear elf gear, then elfs should not be able to wear human gear. Same with gargoyle. Either make it race specific or not.

I hate the concept of race-only armor. It should be like every other game the armor's graphic merely resizes/changes appearance based on the race [Uo already does this with changing how helms look on elves...]

I've felt this way for a long time. If Elves can wear Human items then Humans should be able to wear Elf items. Otherwise, if Humans cannot wear Elf items then Elves should not be able to wear Human items.

I hate race specific armor too.

I have chars that are elves just so they can wear specific armor pieces

I hate race specific armor as well... But i still think it should be one way or another not both.

Well I was looking at the SA site and it said Gargoyles..um how did they put it...

    * A strong cultural emphasis on art and craftsmanship grants the Gargoyles an increased chance to imbue, enhance, and unravel magical items.

It might be that Gargoyle craftsmen with high imbuing skills would be able to transfer over things to Gargoyle equipment while others wouldn't....

I wish I could start polls, I'd have started 3-4 for sure.
    Anyway.

I don't like race-specific items either but if they do it for Gargs they better do it for Humans/Elves as well. Go all the way.

Since unraveling and imbuing sound quite difficult to succeed in they might as well allow(at the very least partial) transferring of mods between Human/Elf/Gargoyle items.
