i understand its only fair that you consume resources like all crafting skills, but couldnt we have som if any lrc apply to the skill?
we consume scrolls and regs and mana
    blacksmith consumes ingots
    tailor consumes cloth/leather
inscription is as far as i know besides imbuing that consumes more than one resource for everything
maybe a percentage say 40-50% cap from lrc?

Because the Devs are afraid that players will be able to make 1000s of gold per day. They don't care about scripting, or speedhacking, they care about gold gathering. They nerfed escorting mages long ago because they could make more gold by gating several NPCs to the same town, Totally Game Unbalancing, so they had to put a stop to that but quick....Mages can stay out all day and night now casting non stop, but not Scribes..No, nononono..(I'm trying to guess how they're ridiculous Dev meeting sounded as they were reasoning this out)....

LRC suits were a horrible idea in the first place...

AFAIK Alchemy has never been affected by LRC
AFAIK Inscription has never been affected by LRC and LMC

exactly but were talking one 1-2 regs per bottle for alchemy with no mana cost
lmc and/or lrc should affect inscription in some shape or form

Yes , I remember those days when you could have mutliple escorts. It was risk free money which is probably why it got nerfed. Unfortunately this would have been scripted just like farming monsters is commonly scripted. But for some reason they produced these work arounds to scripting such as nerfing escorts or removing bags of sending from the game , yet they have never actually fixed the scripting issues

On a side note , Atleast back then we were told when something got nerfed

Edited it a bit ... but a capped LRC for inscription *might* be okay as long as the other consumables would still apply.

I can see why they'd disallow it, but the same reasoning should apply to Create Food. With the right suit you can spam In Mani Ylem all day and sell the food to NPCs. Not a terrific way to make money but it's more lucrative than being an actual Chef on most shards. "Free" magic, if we're to have it at all & it seems we're stuck with it, should be ephemeral.. not something you can stash for later or sell.

LRC should be converted Reagent Channeling, takes reagents directly from your bankbox. You still don't have to carry them, and they still can't be stolen or lost, but the cost would come back into spells as it should.

Scripters used to do this before other methods were found to make gold faster.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason food is useless in the game.
If this is true it is also sad the lengths that EA/M has gone to work around the scripting problems over the last 13 years instead of hitting the problem head on

learn how alchemy works...it takes 3-10 regs per bottle with no failing, kegs can take up to 1000 or more regs to make. LRC on scribe or alchey is ******** as can be, lets just make a Lower Ingot Cost suit and let smiths make armour without ingots, or a lower ingredient suit and we can imbue all day long with no worries?!?!?!?

Seriously, if you dont have thousands of regs stocked up then you arnt, A) Utilizing IDOCs, B)utilizing UOA macros, C)too lazy to do things like fish and t hunt wich gives MASSIVE regs to those that do it. I have 80k each reg saved at all times....all from fishing and thunting. anytime i fall below 60k i go back out again and do more maps.

sign me up with ya. i eat perpeptually. debated highly, i still ...feel a difference!

    i like fink's idea.

but i like that it requires a bit of something. Since is can be skill effecting.

inscription effects spells. (i'm not a mage) in some fashion. So it should be a bit intensive.

ive done alchemy, have my regs stockpiled, dont have a problem doin the job of working the skills.merely wondering why something that benfits magery (which you need to inscribe in the first place) doesnt benefit scribe as well

can you please not use that word?

as for the topic, LRC is when you are casting a spell. a scribe is not casting the spell.

    We Todd Did

    That Better?

Anyone with common sense knows the context in which it was used.

I love the stupidity of people.

actually, no, the context you used the word in was not acceptable at all, and neither is it acceptable to change it to "we todd did" and then mock me over it. I am reporting you to mods.

  24. Good idea. I would also like to see some sort of spell damage/potency bonus for mages who use regs (provided they carried them in their backpack, taking your idea into account). Both would bring regs back into the game in a big way.

As for inscription, if you allow LRC to apply, you would have to do the same for alchemy out of fairness. Mages have to settle on an overall weaker suit (somewhat) to incoporate LRC, or at the very least, a far more expensive suit to have both LRC and all other desirable stats. Alchemists and scribes wouldn't have to make that decision, since they are most likely not using those skills in the middle of combat, so they would all automatically use a 100% LRC suit with no thought for other stats. So why force them to even have LRC, and just make those skills reg-free?

I'm not really suggesting that should be done. I would, however, like to see 120 skill scrolls for Alchemy and Inscription, and I think the one bonus for having 120 skill could be reg-free crafting.

Or forget everything I just wrote, eliminate regs from the game, and have spells, scrolls, and potions burn up gold right out of your bank account. Now that's a gold-sink ;)

What is everyones obseccion with gold sinks. So what if everthing cost alot. You think its going to change if I have to buy 60k regs for my bank box @ 3gp each? your never going to see 1k gold ever be worth anything ever again.

I just wish they would make it so you could have 100mil checks and price things on a vender upto 500 mil. Would save me alot of time with setting up brokers.

because in a mmog gold sinks are necessary for a stable in-game economy. the fact that you have to use reagents to cast spells is pretty simple, if they are located in your pack or in your bank does not matter. heck they could just subtract GP from your bank to cover the regs you use in battle.

this is a good idea I think.

Those ludicrously high prices are a pain. I wish there was some sort of way to "sink" the value of "gold" so we could go back to using a handful of coins for most transactions. :thumbup1:

    Thats fine, report away!

*Hands ingsmisco a pen, paper, and a carrier pigeon to deliver the note*

First off, it is a freely available to use word with many different meanings to many people, if you were offended then simply you did NOT understand the context in which it was said. It is amazing how a grown adult can become so childish in a public forum. Things will be said, people might get offended. Vulgarities are always crossed out with symbols or blanks to keep it clean for young people that might be accessing forums. Other than that until they post a list of words that arnt allowed and take away our free speech than ____ ____!
