Currently, when you tame a pet, you have to wait a week before it bonds (or use a pet bonding potion)

I think a similar system should be introduced to insure items.

i.e it must sit in your bank for a certain amount of time before you may insure it.

OR perhaps we should have to take the items to an insurance broker npc at the bank to have them insured, rather than automatically being able to insure items instantly in the field as soon as they're in out possession.

Lol, is anybody who doesn't play Siege going to vote for this? The first thing I do when I get something good in the middle of a spawn or T chest is insure it before I get killed and knocked off the system before I can resurrect. What is the advantage of this proposal?

I would like this, a little more risk is always a good thing. i doubt the majority would enjoy it tho.

Actually id just flip the whole argument on its head and say you shouldnt have to wait a week to bond a pet.

Ya all 8 of them will

It benefits and creates rouges scouted Fel for Afk macro bots to get free loot, and creates risk for farming in Fel other than loser 5k gold to insurance..maybe it would actually matter if the 1000 luck bonus made a damn difference.

This ultimately is the same argument that's advanced to get rid of insurance entirely. And, like the anti-insurance argument generally, which is very, very old, it presents a false dilemma on risk versus reward -- as I have demonstrated capably the dozens of other times this issue has come up.

If any changes should be made to insurance, it should be to increase cost for purpose of acting as a gold sink.

Only reason why OP want this, is so he and his guild can grief more in feluca.
I think there is enough greifing around champ spawns as it is. Let the "farmer" insure the item he/she spend weeks on getting, by insuring it.

I check the loot in the champs body before I even check what scrolls I get! Soon as the body drops I loot then insure straight away.

I think Replica drops from fel bosses should at least be temporarily uninsurable... at least until you're able to get them out of the dungeon before they're taken/looted from you (also hueing the receiving player a different color (faction sigil) so that people know who has gotten the drop to make it a little more interesting) give all "new" replicas +1 additional property slot, that allows someone to imbue 1 property at up to 150 item intensity in addition to what the replica already has.

As far as the OP, I'd rather not have to wait to do use something, it can take some time to piece together a suit with this stuff anyway, that's fine enough I guess.

I always wondered why Fel as the high risk / high reward facet even had insurance (not that I mind, of course!)

Could you explain what you mean? Are people not now allowed to attack others in fel? Or are you proposing guard zones around all champ spawning areas so the risk is removed entirely from fel? Or should "farmers" be made invulnerable to attack in felucca?

Although i do not agree with the proposal Mervyn has put forward i do agree its crazy an item can be instantly insured at source.

I have no issue with insurance more the fact there is no risk anymore in fel on shards with medium to low populations.

I believe this is a combination of no way for newer players to learn / advance to being an experienced player and that every champ can be solo'd with a sampire.

Wouldn't benefit anyone.... would do anything but make another reason why people don't want to play.....

"Ooo I got this cool item..... I have to insure it and drop it in the bank though for a week... so I'll catch you all next week!"

Yeah I can see it now... Instead of heading off to check out the new find or the new suit now you gotta wait around a week or risk losing it to mobs. Yeah you heard me MOBS Give a rats about insurance for PvP because you KNOW no one is going to use an uninsured item to PvP. That's the dumbest suggestion yet. No anyone who was any good at PvP and who did it with any regularity would wait the week. Everyone else would too.... and to those who don't wait it would be taken by the first mob at an EM event that loots. Or worse yet your doing a champ and one of those loots you and it's gone before you can get a rez and get back to your body because those mobs decay so fast it's nuts. So yeah nobody would use anything that any thief could then loot they would wait the week ..... and anymore having to wait for this and that and the other and well the game is boring enough as it is.....

That'd make more folk QUIT ...... don't think that's what we need or want.

I think it would be a much better and simpler just to make items only insurable while in a guard zone. Not that it it will ever happen now, but it probably would have been good to do it that way when insurance was first introduced. Theres really not enough risk in the game and that small change would at least have added a little.

Just a silly idea going with this... but how about insurance salesmen at a bank perhaps? Different banks would offer different rates on certain types of items (Magic items cheaper to insure in Moonglow, weapons cheaper to insure in Trinsic, etc.). Not that it would ever happen...

Mervyn's guild raids champ spawns in felucca. Why is that greifing?

From the gold sales sites POV. Do they need more honest players to look to the dark side for help? Does the passing player need that added burden? If you want that risk vs reward there is always seige.

But after a week in my bank, shouldn't the weapon simply bond to me as a pet does for the tamer?

I don't think the average player is so poor that they couldn't handle doubling of insurance costs. Game needs as many gold sinks as possible.

I have zero intention of ever playing Siege, but props to those who stick it out on that shard.

Why you want me to feed my items to bond? :coco:
Do I need to feed items on regular basics to prevent them from going to wild?
