    Hi.

The last time i play UO was back during ML, i was in a guild on Great Lakes called Chain of Command or C|C, some of you might or might not remember it.

I know a lot has changed since then, i was wondering if anyone can fill me in on the important changes, and is the game still decently populated?

Is peerless still done, is doom still run, my main character was a spellweaving mage tamer, what's going on with tamers lately?

Do i have to buy a expansion or something since my account is only updated to ML, and how much is it to play monthly now?

Last question is do you think it's worth it to come back to Ultima Online?

    Thanks.

The last price increase I can think of was before ML.

GL is still decently populated, though the population is considerably down from its peak and will, we need to face it, never recover. As to the game itself, opinions differ. And I guess "decently" is subject to interpretation anyway.

Peerlesses are still done now and again, though the Cincture no longer is the only useful item in that slot (there's an apron called "Tangle" now as well) it's still useful. Also those craftable ML spellbooks are still useful, sought after, and the ingredients from those come from Peerlesses.

Doom is done only rarely because the items from it are in wide circulation and now you can get awesome bracelets and stuff from the Dungeons Covetous, Shame, and Wrong, there's also new artifacts from Covetous which are pretty good.

Really it's best to sign back up and just slowly immerse yourself.

There's a Global Chat system now so Stratics is no longer your only outlet for questions, though in Global Chat be aware of assholes who will make fun of you and/or give you bad, incorrect answers. But GL's a good shard overall, just our assholes are really ****ing loud when they are around.

Yes, it's worth coming back. Indeed let me welcome you back in advance.

Lots of new changes to the game since ML was released. Too many to list, but sooooo many good thigns have happened.

Yes and No. It all depends on which shard you are on. Atlantic seems to be the most populated now, surpassing Great Lakes, probably due to it being first on server list that new players see. However GL, where I was born and raised still has a decent population.

Yes Peerless's are still done. Also there is new bosses to challenge too! Doom is still run, although it hasn't been updated in far too long leaving it mostly to us old faithfuls that refuse to let it die.

Tamers are still widely popular, although I have stopped using mine in favor of Mysticism (new magic skill introduced with gargoyles and the Stygian Abyss expansion).

There have been a few expansions/boosters since ML.
    • Stygian Abyss is a full expansion giving you access to the lands of Ter Mur and the Gargoyle Race. Imbuing (crafting awesome killer weapons/armor was also introduced with this expansion).
    • High Seas Booster gives you access to the new ships in the game, replaceing and upgradign the old dragon ships. With this fishing can now be raised to 120, lots of fish types were added, quests were added, and a floating sea market was added. This is great for anyone that ever like to fish. Also with this booster came pirate and merchant ships that you can go to war with! The new ships also make PvP ship battles a reality on the Fel side of things.
    • Lastly there is the Gothic & Rustic theme packs. These give you a couple deco/craftable, stills you can brew your won liquor in, garden beds for easier plant growth and new tile sets for houses.

Depends on where you live in the world but US prices (some states are taxed some are not) range from 12.99 a month if you pay monthly to 9.99 a month if you pay six months at a time.

Without a doubt. The day I leave Great Lakes is when EA stops taking our money.

It's worth it! It's very different now-much to learn. In the last two months, at least three of our former GL guildmates have returned after many years' absence. I think they are enjoying it.
