    Say that a player is looking to better a certain modifier, for example Spell Damage Increase (SDI), is there anywhere on Stratics or elsewhere a comprehensive database that lists any and all items whether jewellery, artifacts, talismans or armor/weapons which can carry that given modifier and up to what extent (max value possible for that given item) ?

    Thanks.

    Not exactly what you are looking for, but sorta close is UOguide. Look at their page for Spell Damage Increase, then look at the very bottom of the page for a list of all the different properties and you can navigate from there.

    Both rings and bracelets can possess SDI.
    Weapons

    * Breath of the Dead 5%
    * Grim Reaper's Scythe 5%
    * Rune Blade of Knowledge 5% (fixed stat, runics may have higher amounts)
    * Staff of Power 5%

    Armor/Neckware

    * Elven Leafweave 15% (total from 4 pieces)
    * Greymist Armor 8% (2% per from 4 pieces)
    * Hat of the Magi 10%
    * Kasa of the Raj-In 12%
    * Midnight Bracers 10%
    * Pendant of the Magi 5%
    * Spell Woven Britches 10%

    Books

    * Conjurer's Grimoire 15%
    * Mage Inscribed Spellbooks up to 9% (?)
    * Scrapper's Compendium 25%
    * Tome of Lost Knowledge 15%
    * War of Shadows Invasion Spellbooks up to 30%

    Rings

    * Crystalline Ring 20%

    As of December of 2008, the maximum Spell Damage Increase is 99%, which is constituted from the following:

    * Spell Woven Britches 10%,
    * Crystaline Ring 20%,
    * any Bracelet with 12%,

    This browsing could be very time consuming.......

    There is a whole lot of Tables and calculators for a variety of things related to Ultima Online but never a database to be filtered for modifiers on all existing items has ever been done ?

    Thanks, good info there although not complete for all modifiers, unfortunately. Spell Damage Increase seems quite well covered but other modifiers lack most of the information on what items carry them and so forth.....

    One further question.......

    At the UOGuide link, it says Under Qualifiers that :

    "It appears that it works with Word of Death, as the spell is not dependant on a secondary ability check like Pain Spike, which involves Spirit Speak, or Holy Light, which involves Karma. SDI impact of WoD needs to be confirmed. "

    That confuses me.

    It first says SDI appears to work with WOD but then says it needs to be confirmed ?

    How much time has passed since that information appeared on the UOGuide ?

    Has the impact of SDI on WOD has been confirmed ?

    What is it ?

    For example, say that one has 100% Spell Damage Increase.

    Do I understand it right that the damage dome by a Spell is then doubled ?

    Now, since at 120 Spellweaving each circle does +5% damage to a Target, say that one has level 6 Focus the damage done would be 30%. Right ?

    Now, if one is 120 SW and level 6 AND 100% SDI does this mean that the damage done with Word of Death becomes 60% ??

    And what if one, on top of that, is also using a Slayer Talisman for that type of creature on which the Word of Death spell is being used ?

    How does that factor in to the final damage applied ?

    Talismans don't affect spell damage output.

    And I think the current cap for damage of any type is 300% ???

    UOguide has some good info, but is a user-created wiki so is sometimes incomplete. I don't know the answer to your WoD questions. There has been some confusion before about SDI and what it effects outside of Magery. Perhaps you could submit a FoF question about it.

    But I do know that there is supposedly a 300% total damage cap in PvM. Plus, slayer tailsmans do not effect magery spells.
    And according to the UOguide WoD page, Slayer spellbooks do not effect WoD either.

    Yes, if you have 100 SDI, your spell damage including WOD is doubled.

    Note that arcane focus does not increase the damage done by WOD. It affect when WOD becomes effective on a mob. Without an arcane focus, WOD only does that massive 300 point damage if the mob has less than 5% HP left. If you WOD a mob with more than 5% HP left, you'll do a measly amount of damage, around 10-30 points depending on resists.

    With a level 1 focus, WOD becomes effective if the mob has less than 10% HP left. Each level of focus allows the devastating damage of your WOD to kick in earlier.

    0 = 5% HP left
    1 = 10% HP left
    2 = 15% HP left
    3 = 20% HP left
    4 = 25% HP left
    5 = 30% HP left
    6 = 35% HP left

    However, arcane focus also affects Arcane Empowerment. Each level of focus increases the SDI from Arcane Empowerment by 5%. So if you cast Arcane empowerment first, that will give you a bit more kick to your WOD.

    0 = 10% increase
    1 = 15% increase
    2 = 20% increase
    3 = 25% increase
    4 = 30% increase
    5 = 35% increase
    6 = 40% increase

    Spells are never affected by slayer talismans. I hope they change this...
    Also, WOD is not affected by Slayer spellbooks (well, except for 1 specific mob, but still not in the traditional sense).

    Ok, let me see if I understood it right.

    Let us take as an example a Dark Father with 30,000 Hit Points.

    Assuming that one has Arcane Empowerment and a full level 6 Circle, this means that Word of Death is castable when the Dark Father is down to 12,000 hit points.

    But what I cannot figure out, is how many points damage it will do......

    It seems the CAP for WOD is 666 points.

    But how many points the WOD will actually do to the Dark Father when used ?

    And what if one has 100% Spell Damage Increase ?

    With a lvl 6 focus, WOD is effective when your target has less than 35% hp.
    35% of 30,000 hp is 10,500 hp. Arcane Empowerment does not affect when you can WOD the mob. For WOD, Arcane Empowerment only affects the damage that you do.

    Without any SDI, WOD does around 300 points of damage. With 100 SDI, you'll do 600 points of damage. There's no cap for WOD in PVM that we can reach currently (mainly because it's not affected by EoO or Slayers).

    So with no focus, you can WOD a mob when it has been reduced to 5% or less HP. Damage will be around 300.

    With a level 6 focus, you can WOD a mob when it has been reduced to 35% or less HP. Damage will be around 300.

    With a level 6 focus, and arcane empowerment up, you can WOD a mob when it has been reduced to 35% or less HP. Damage will be around 420 (300 x 140%).
