Ok so I was on my lot and a few things were in need of repair. First one being a shower I click it to repair it and it says to me it will cost you 35 dollars to fix this item do you wish to fix it. I am thinking 35 dollars heck yea. Dont cost me as much as the repair thats a good deal. So I fix it at the end of the fix I notice that I am 350 dollars poorer not 35. What in the world happened did the cost of the parts go up with the price of gas going up? I just dont get it. Know this is not the first time I have incountered this just wondering if its happening to any one else or just to me and if its a bug that needs to be reported?

Its a repair bug been around a long time. The displayed amount doesn't always match the real amount.
Thats why my mech is useless now and I always call the repairman...

Edit to add: Its been reported before, but feel free to report it to [email protected]

Ok one more question about this. I stiffed the repair man the last time he was at my house and now he will not work for a looser like me. How long am I a looser for? Does any one know lol. Thats the reason I was doing my own repairs. LOL. Geez you would think they never had an emergency come up before lol. Actually I just forgot that I had asked him to come cause it takes for ever and then spent the money doing renovations on my place lol.

if you have another sim , make them the owner, get them to call the repairman to makes sure he shows up once, then trade the house back to your main sim

Try clicking on the item you wish to repair a few times. Each time, don't repair it. Usually, by the third time I click Repair the item will display the real price.
  6. It's always cheaper to call the repairman now.

I've notice that too, it's happen to me as well and it stinks [IMG]
  7. lol thats so funny, because I stiffed the maid right after my city got merged. I went home and maid popped up, it was the first time I'd seen my sim in awhile and couldn't wait to get on her. lol. I didn't realize I was broke because it happened that quick. She stole my lantern as payment. lol. Cleaning after myself is definitely not the same (cost wise) as not being able to use the repairman. lol

How many times have you attempted to call the repairman since that happened?

What I wish now that things are so tight is that there was a way that the repairman could be called 24 sim hours a day, rather than just between the hours of 9am-6pm. In RL when repairmen and plumbers come out 'after hours' they charge extra, but most still will come out. Maybe after hours they could charge us 60 or 75 simoleans a sim hour instead of 50. I am willing to bet the lots that have pianos on them would be more than happy to pay that rather than pay the repair costs on those if they break at night, because if just one breaks, the whole room score flattens. I got mad as a hornet last night because the roomie at the house I was in had gone extended afk and there was two pianos that needed to be fixed, and it was 10 pm sim time. Nobody could get better than 3 bars green because of it. I would have happily called the repairman as a guest but like I said it was 14 sim hours before he would have come, plus I did not wish to reward that roomie for obviously circumventing timeout. We still have our unique skill speeds in TC3, so I just went to another house that had creativity and skilled my two sims there on creativity alone at 144%. I don't know if anybody has ever said what's up with that, but I love it.....DON'T fix it LOL it's wonderful to be able to boycott houses that we don't like even though they have the number of sims in them whereas the old way if they were the only house that was open with the speed, you were stuck going there or going without skilling which with all the custom craftable orders I've got, isn't an option.
  9. Oh I know what you mean. Repairman comes the same hours I work at the factory. So I have to miss a day in order to call the repairman lol.
