Jeremy, one question from the townhall was about swamp barding, bevore u ask a dev and before u spend 1 FoF question place for nothing, here are the answer for all who didn´t know it till today :

swampdragon barding in pvp 0%, in pvm -20% damage, colour of ingots doesn´t matter
so keep it cheap and use iron ingots, exceptionel deeds, lasting much longer then normal deeds.

so, 1 place more for an important question in the FoF

I thought it was 20% only for exceptional deeds. Standard deeds give 10%, as does the permanent armor Parox's swampie wears.

    Is this wrong?

yes wrong, difference brtween exc. and normal is the durability

der rock NO....NO ... 10% from non gm barding 20% from exceptional Color effects durability. If ya don't know, don't pass info to folks who depend on it. Proxy is 10% as it is not exceptional...just unbreakable. This has been tested over and over. If yer worried about jeremy wasting fof space on it, you should prob do a bit of testing and research yourself.

yes, my account says visitor. My original acct was somehow lost and I had to start over. My ability not to troll just to get a post count is not a bad thing. If ya wann disagree with my about the barding then maybe getting an official word isn't a bad idea. What say you jeremy?

Color affecting durability is also a new one on me. Up to three opinions thus far...

the color affecting durability myst, comes from player who sell expensive valo DBD to poor
    credulous player, i think

awwww I musta hurt 'ems feelings for ya to be taking pot shots at me like that. Cause I must be taking advatage of folks buying my bardings ... lol .. nice form. There durability has always been hard to test due to differing suits, defense, and parry %'s, but yes I (and the four other smithys I have checked with, all 8-10yr vets also) do believe that durability is effected by color. Could be wrong. At this point I guess we really could use an official word.

ure argumentation is wrong i think.

    make it simple:
use the SAME character on same monster (maybe DF in doom) but differend coloured DBD, here u are, easy to follow the test.
    ;)

No it's not that easy to test. We have typically used Ogre Lords as they do phys damage, but the effects of bushido and dci/parry are unpredictable. Counting the number of blows recieved before breakage is the only thing we have to go on and based on those numbers, val lasted longer than iron. Yes it is possible that they are they same, but I don't think so.

The 10% 20% difference for non-gm vs gm though that we can prove every time.

I think I would be more apt to believe the people that actually programed the game over you...i.e.:
Source:Knowledge Base Article on Swamp Dragon Barding
I agree with the other guy, you need to research your information better before posting, helps to keep your credibility from being questioned.

It sounds like a current and definitive answer wouldn't be a bad idea, based on this thread.

i still dispute the 10% v. 20%, or the difference in combat is not to get to see so.

on ALL other points i was 100%
    :)

TY jeremy. You kick ogre hiney. :)

  17. The definitive answer is that regular barding gives 10% and exceptional gives 20%.

Maybe I should have my own Five on Friday so I can answer basic questions like this one and difficulty based skills so that developer time isn't wasted on things everyone should know.

Then again, maybe developers need to look them up so they know...

I should add that the damage reduction applies only in PvM. It does not apply in PvP although at one time it did. That was changed.

Further, durability is unaffected by color of ingot or exceptionalness of the deed.

I'll make you a bet that I'm 100% right and the bet is that if you waste time asking this question when I've just given you the answer, I get to make the five question list next week.

    :)

    ok, i agree but

    1. color doesnt matter = noticeable and known
    2.durability exc/regular = noticeable and known
3.-20%Dam. in pvm /-0%Dam. in pvp = noticeable and known

    4. 10% v.20% Damage reduce reg/exc. = is not to see in combat

it is written down,ok, BUT, in combat u see NO difference
so, not all what we read on the knowledge base is noticeable.

  19. You ALL could be right, or wrong at the same time.
    How?

Well, wouldnt be the first time things didnt work as "they" said it would.
It is posted as 10% vs 20%, so Jeremy, THAT question is answered.

The REAL question is......is it working as is supposed to?
Now THAT should be the FoF question/answer we seek!!

    Peace.

    Non-exc is 10%. Exc is 20%.

As for it doing 0% reduction in PvP... I am not for sure, never tested it. But I remember something like LS only doing like 28 damage on a LS instead of 35... So I assume it is working.

Proxy's Swampie armor is only 10%? I did think it was 20%.. can you put an exception barding deed on it.. which of course would break after some time.. but give the boost?
