    # Skills between 70.0 to 79.9 can gain 0.1 every 5 minutes (each) to a max of 5.0 per day (total).
    # Skills between 80.0 to 89.9 can gain 0.1 every 8 minutes (each) to a max of 4.0 per day (total).
    # Skills between 90.0 to 99.9 can gain 0.1 every 12 minutes (each) to a max of 3.0 per day (total).
    # Skills between 100.0 to 109.9 can gain 0.1 every 15 minutes (each) to a max of 3.0 per day (total).
    # Skills between 110.0 to 120.0 can gain 0.1 every 15 minutes (each) to a max of 2.0 per day (total).

The max points allowed per day was removed from SP...

if the max points per day was removed.... then why does every line you have there end with "to a max of *blah* per day" ???

    just saying.

    Probably for comparison.
To provide the original case, and then the modification.
Not the clearest way to put it, though, but still illustrates it well enough, if I read it right.
(Doesn't that make skill gain way easier on Siege than on Prodo?)

So ROT was removed for the most part? Or is my understand of this incorrect?

Rot still has the timer, but not the max. So you still have to wait the minutes but you can gain as long as you want.

The really big change with this is that before you could only gain like 2.0 OVERALL, so you had to basically just train one skill at a time, now you can train all of your skills at once. Its way way way faster than before, and way cheaper and less stressful than skill gain on regular shards.

    I love it.

In essence what it means is:
you gain at a regular time period, provided you are training at the right level
you don't get frustrated repeatedly performing an action in hope of a gain
you don't go through shed loads of resources training crafts in hope of a gain.
It still takes a while to get a character totally complete, but it's a whole lot less frustrating.

I just trained cartography. I had a pen and some scrolls in my pack and an eggtimer proggy running. I just did whatever I wanted to do with the character, then wrote a map when the timer pinged.

Pretty much. And with the increase of Alacrities from Treasure Chests its even easier when you combine ROT and the scrolls.

thats why i allways considered siege to be the remidial shard.

i made 4 toons there and it was by far the easiest character development ive ever done.

    shoot a arrow.
    wait 5 minutes.

I greatly perfer it to regular shard skill gain, even when there were daily limits. I hate training skills.

So the fastest you can go from 70 to 120 is 91 hours 45 minutes.

Great news, I haven't played Siege since 05 and both my toons are maxed in their skills with their dated templates, kinda encourages me to maybe play again. But it also has the AOS code and that is the only reason I left siege in the first place, so really this doesnt fix my issue but does fix many others issues and is a good thing.

Pretty darn fast compared to before and for skills that require the use of resources, they don't have to be wasted. :thumbup1:
