Just an FYI on Fraud

    Someone's been advertising a way to take advantage of certain loopholes with the account billing system for Ultima Online.

    This is just a friendly warning to let people know that claiming you live in another country to avoid certain taxes or fees is considered fraud. If you do it over the internet it is considered internet fraud.

    Fraud is punishable by law in most countries that you can play Ultima Online in.

    Also, rumors of linking multiple accounts resulting in only being billed once yet having all accounts remain active is false.

    This did happen to me. They billed for my main account (it cleared on my bank statement) but both went active (they had previously been closed for a month for unrelated issues).

    I appeared that they had billed me one monthly fee for 2 accounts. Several days later the second one hit my bank account. So despite what might be said about linked accounts only charging once is false. They will correct their mistake.


    And regarding what Flutter said, I'll just pass on something I once read that I feel rings true:
    "America is a great country. You can rob, cheat, steal, even get away with murder. But if you don't pay your taxes, you're going to jail."

    Four of my accounts were shut down with well over 2 weeks left in the billing cycle.

    They told me that all accounts would be active by the next day and that I would be compensated for my trouble. They then said that I could follow up over email and to just provide the inncident number. Every email I had sent afterwards was never replied.

    Here we are a week later, My other accounts are still down, with time owed, and EA -Mythic does not have a freakin clue what the heck I am talking about.

    I love how they sit there and guarantee things and then disappear on ya.


    If they are not careful, they will lose more of their "valued" subscribers. I am half tempted to let 4 accounts stay closed.
