Is Grim going to be permanent in the Labyrinth.
I haven't been to the Labyrinth in years, but it's always been an irregular resident hasn't it?

a named drake, I believe.
I remember him being in there back in Summer of '07, last time I tried it. (Did it in KR, was a blast). I remember him being a major pain, thats for sure. Don't think hes going anywhere.
Grim adds an element of danger when doing Meraktus.
Granted he is one mean drake and I've taken many a dirtnap from him. He has also many times turned my attempts at Meraktus into absolute Chaos and made it take twice as long.
That being said I see no point in removing him. There are only a handful of creatures I run from on sight and Grim is one of them. I had never seen him before my first attempt at Meraktus and it was neat and exciting to discover that little bugger and I for one hope he doesn't go anywhere.
Just watch your step...

Ok. I ve done this champ a few times in the last month. Once there were 2 Grim and sometimes there is no Grim. I would like to know why/how he spawns. Is it random? or do we kill too many drakes? or were we just cursed that day to get 2 grim? I mean at a time!! He respawned before we killed him. I was afraid we would have three! I had a lot more than 3 new robes at the end..
All I know is they forgot to put the last name on. (Grim Reaper) He put me on a strict diet of dirt today.
The Grim is part of a "trap" spawn. Essentially, if you cross the square the trap is in, the drakes spawn, and may or may not include Grim. Then, it relocates to another part of the dungeon, so the trap conceivably could be triggered again.
Flurry (a named elemental - air or snow) spawns with air elementals as well, but closer to the entrance.
Eh, not really, you have insane 1 hit kill minotaurs... and then some dumb named drake, doesn't exactly add a challenge while you're getting 1 hit area attack killed.
I'd rather take on the minotaurs, Grim & Flurry at the same time rather then Pyre.
If you're fighting Grim and Merkatus himself at the same time, then you did something terribly wrong. The closest Grim spawn, while close to Merkatus' fortress, isn't close enough that you can't choose to fight one or the other.
And it usually takes me 2 hits to get dead from Merkatus.
The Furry (or is it Flurry?) is a named air elemental and spawns in the long building just before Miasma It spawns with 3 other air elementals when you walk over the trap. This trap does not move (and pretty sure the other ones do not move either). But the trap does not spawn the creatures every time, and Furry only spawns about 1 out of 10 times. Furry actually gives better loot than Miasma and is easier to kill.
I am pretty sure that is how the Grim trap works... it just does not set off the spawn every time you walk over it. What I mean is, I am pretty sure the trap does not move at all.
Minotaur scouts shouldn't be able to reveal you if you have 120 stealth and GM hide either. It is ridiculous.
Not sure if the Firebird came first or Pyre. Both are too hot for me to handle. (VW is no competition)
I been burned a LOT by Pyre.
Why? Pyre is a cakewalk as long as you're one on one with it. Hell, he's easier than Swoop is now.

Last week in the Labyrinth when doing Meraktus with a group, five of them were fighting a Tormented Minotaur and within a split second he did his special and all 5 were ghosts. I was laughing so hard..5 on 1 and the Tormented Minotuar won.
The one hit kills....
With the tormented Minotaurs I think their 'special' ground and pound attack that the damage is based off how many monters/pets/summons are attacking it. When I can get one alone and battle against it I do fine. Soon as someone throws an EV or tries to jump in that's where the trouble begins. That's just my impression from my many visits to the Labyrinth ...the more people damaging it the more damage it will do back with it's special. So any time someone tries to jump in and help with the Tormented I run for my life. It worked the other night or I would have been number 6.
Meraktus's 1 hit kill is actually two hits. I've been on the receiving end of it many times. It's a two blow combination something in the range of 99 dmg+ 45 dmg in what appears to be a split second. It's probably his special followed by one of his regular blows. But that's Meraktus for you and I wouldn't want to see it changed.
My thoughts Grim>Pyre>Swoops.
Pyre for sure hits harder than Swoops and he has an area damage just from being around him. Grim is just downright mean.
The Labyrinth is absolutley awesome and great place to have fun. Definitely one of my all time favorite places.
Anyone who hasn't gone down to challenge the Minotaur King should make the trip down.
It's Queen, actually - the lore concerning Merkatus released with ML refers to her as female.
And, I've had Grim spawn right next to the gate to the mansion. If everyone is spread out fighting the minotaurs to make Merkatus spawn, it's possible one of them might step on a random Grim trap on the way to Merkatus.
Flurry has multiple possible trigger points. I've ran into it (from triggering a trap) in the long building before Miasma, and on the long road straightaway coming off of the bridge over Rend, heading towards Pyre's area (in fact, the Pyre & Flurry double-teamed me to kill me)
We'll it'd be nice to actually get some solid data on the Labyrinth from the Dev's. I would make for a decent FoF. I thought I read on UOguide something about Meraktus being a she. So Queen Meraktus it is..
Not sure what the email is to send questions for an FoF but I have some about the Labyrinth...
1) Why does the spawn regress so fast? In a matter of 30 seconds or less I have gone from "Aid the others" back to "I see invaders". I've never seen any spawn regress as quickly as the labyrinth. Is this intended?
2) Does killing Drakes, Reptalons, Pyre or Grim advance the spawn?
3) Why is there no shouting from Minotuars killed inside the main courtyard (Behind the gate where Meraktus spawns)? Does killing Minotaurs inside the courtyard not advance the spawn?
I'd like as much information as possible about the spawn. I do know there is yelling from Minotaurs killed in the entrance you can hear it if your in the back but there are other spots where Rend is and where the Air Elementals spawn where there is no yelling when the Minotaurs are killed.
We need some clarifaction on some things about this mysterious place.
I'd rather have change than clarification. Make it a real champ spawn!
But to answer your questions based on my own experience:
1. I haven't seen that. In fact, I've left for 10 minutes (death) and returned to the same level of spawn.
2. No, they don't.
3. The only minotaur that count are the ones who spawn after Pyre and before the gates. Once you cross the gate into Merkatus' house, they don't count toward the spawn any more.
Farisght how do you know this?
