Couldn't get out once dead due to a crate that doesn't show in a passageway. still 7 in que
Take the ladder down to the lower level and then run south and then east until you get to the bottom of a set of steps. Someone can gate you out from that spot.
Or if you can get to the bottom of the steps coming down from the main entrance on the first floor, someone may be able to gate you out from there too. I know we used to be able to gate into that base from near the bottom of the steps.
From my understanding, anything inside the faction bases are "whatever goes".
The Devs made comment on it some months ago.
If needed, I can sift through the months of posts since then and repost the comments made.
And to get out, I would say do what Tina suggested or have a fellow guildie come kill the kirin and rez you.
At a Town Hall meeting, when Silvani was still Head GM, she said there HAD to be a passageway to let ghosts out. There was a small crate blocking my exit from the room that has the stairs that leads to the sigil room.
These pics were taken after an SL mule came in and apparently needed the candelabras that were in the crate, so he moved it, thus allowing me to get out and take pics.
Heres the post I found
"What are the rules regarding blocking off areas in faction warfare?"
There are a couple of different possible cases - here is the breakdown:
* Faction Vendors: There MUST be a path between or around them. If there is not, the GMs will take action.
* In A Faction City (but not in the stronghold): If there are items placed in such a way that other players can't move them easily (many many candelabras on one tile, for example) the GMs will take action.
* In A Faction Stronghold: Anything goes.
If the GMs are forced to take action in any case, they will delete the items/vendors that are blocking a player's path. The faction signup stone is a good indication of where a faction stronghold begins. Keeping that in mind, any blocking that occurs outside of that area may warrant action
And this is the link where this question was asked in a FoF UOHerald - FoF
So, technically what they did isnt illegal because it was inside the faction stronghold
The anything goes in a faction base and you must leave a path for ghosts to exit kind of contridicts each other. The rules as I understand them and they are also posted in the faction sticky is that inside the base there aren't any rules for blocking, outside the base you have to leave a path, and in dungeons your not allowed to block the exits with items, and one time a GM made us stop casting E-fields in front of the exit because it trapped ghosts (could have been a GM tired of getting pages from people crying about the mean people keeping them trapped in the dungeon as ghosts).
Being in factions, would't having a shrine gem on you solve the problem that you'r having?
A shrine gem would have worked, but would have also defeated my purpose.
In actuality, I thought their tactics were pretty inventive and have to give props to whoever thought it up.
When did ghosts start getting blocked by objects? They used to be able to walk through all that stuff.
Honestly. This is what makes UO Great. That people can make plans like this and follow through with them.
I understand the frustration of being trapped in the base, but these are the things that make this game great.
So what do you plan on doing to get into base?
It's still the same JC. Ghosts can walk through alot of things, but some things they can't.
Help option works great to transport out when you are stuck. Especially when it's clear that nothing is being done to fix the blocking when it's suspected to be legal in faction bases.
I go with the UO/EA compromise.
It is probably illegal though GMs are told not to bother as it is faction pvp.
Don't ask, don't tell. lol
Would be nice, however, if someone in authority cleared up the contradiction, esp since one came from a head gm and the other from a community rep.
Perfectly legal in a faction base.
Considering one was posted on the UOHerald, which was answered by the Devs themselves, thats the one I go with and always have gone with.
GMs dont know jack around here, or hasnt anyone else noticed that?
i was on GL a month or so ago and i saw SL do a set up that made it 100% immpossible to get into the base.
GMs where paged and they just smiled and left.
and were are not talking boxed candl'bra's either, im talking really immpossible to get in.
ive been doing factions since the get go, and this base was done up tight as a drum.
which i would think would make doing the defence boring when no one can get in to kill ya.
but thats just me, i like the tussle.
