I'd like to start off by saying if you have never PvP'd before, or have no interest in doing so (or play LOTRO and quit 4 years ago) please don't bother posting as I'm sure you'll just look silly.

So trammel came out oh I don't know 8-9 years ago (the true date is irrelevant) and to this day powerscrolls are the only motivation to play in fel (double resources doesn't count considering scripters are the only people who take part in that). I realize they are trying (albeit barely) to encourage people to play in fel, but let's be honest for a moment: adding 2 SA champ spawns only makes it even more difficult to scout spawns, especially considering their location and the fact they are physically linked to trammel, and the fel counterparts of the new dungeon revamps are more empty than a Jan cave. Why risk taking your sampire to fel when the advantage is a supposed boost of a RNG that is frustrating to say the least? :wall:

Now before the "you just want tram bait to kill and loot" comments come rolling in, that's exactly what I don't want (although I would never pass up such a gracious offering). What I want is a REASON for people to take part in PvP. I've been raiding champ spawns for as long as I've been playing (~8 years). All of my home shard characters are 120'd out, I have a mage on every east coast shard, and I have a stockpile of 120's (80+) that just sit around because I am out of ways to use them. I know some won't believe this, but whenever we raid despise (which is extremely rare these days considering nobody does them) we leave barracoon up for as long as possible and spam general chat just hoping that somebody will give us some PvP action.

Before someone tells me to go play on Atlantic, I'll first say that I have, and that it is a terrible solution. Yes, there are more people to fight on Atlantic, but still the majority of PvP takes place either at trashy Yew gate or in Despise. Not to mention the fact that you need at least 10 people to even compete (I hate being in a zerg guild). I don't even remember the last time I went to T2A because it is next to impossible to actually find someone spawning there past 10 A.M.

The only thing I have to admit was great for encouraging PvP beyond powerscrolls, was when replica drops were introduced. Sadly, that was several years ago and the demand for them has drastically declined considering 1 lieutenant guard sash will basically last your entire UO career. Please, if a developer by some miracle happens to read this, continue to add similar rewards for playing in fel.

When you analyze strictly the game-play mechanics of UO (yes, some people still play UO as a GAME rather than another life), PvP is the only one that far exceeds any other game I have ever played. I can honestly say there is almost nothing more fun and exciting than how raiding champ spawns used to be some 4-5 years ago. Perhaps I'm just suffering from nostalgia, but I believe that if the right incentives are added once again to fel, we may see just a glimpse of the game we used to know. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, and I guarantee there are more people who play UO strictly for the PvP than there are who play strictly for the PvM.

Thanks for reading and I sincerely hope something is done about this!

I Agree Fel does need some love, to bring more people to it. obviously those who have no interest in Pvp, Buy the things obtainable from "fel" only from people who actually do pvp or participate in fel activities.

Except the majority of people who PvP in UO don't visit stratics.

I guarantee you [insert random untrue thing here]. But it doesn't make it true.

If more people played UO for the PvP, Fel would be more populated, and there would be no need for a long line of incentives, going back to the Dungeon Khaldun and extending through the awesome content exclusive to the Primeval Lich spawn, in order to get people there in order to PvP.

And there would be no more need for posts, such as this one, to ask for yet-more incentives.

Well having never PVP's nor do I do spawns <giggles maniacally> I actually agree with you. Well except for the double resources part because I've tried mining in tram.... eeeesh :wall: not worth it at all.

Personally I don't go there because well, there is nothing there for me. Now you put double the loot value on fel mobs or make it so I can earn something nice with murder counts and I'll be there in a heartbeat looking for a fight.

Fel does not need any help... PvP needs help. It takes a freakin' math degree and a spread sheet to compete these days... This does not even take tamers into consideration. If I wanted to fight a dragon I could do that else where.

instead of "luring" people to fel, lets have a good reason to PvP.

Remake factions, and this time listen to the PvPers. Have useful faction vendors, a real reason to hold a town, 10 min stat loss instead of 20, and the list goes on.

Make the majority of towns non GZ except for a certin tile area around the bank and shops. If anyone in your guild is flagged, from either attacking or healing no one in that guild can go in the shops or around the bank (simular to house fighting rules).

Let non faction players fight to control non faction towns such as Ocllo, Jhelom, and so on, but once again, make it benificial. Maybe one guild can claim leadership of the towns and if another guild wants the leadership they can declair war on that guild.

No, it just takes time and a bit of effort. Obviously you gave neither. If you can double click and add whole numbers, you can compete in PvP. :dunce:

The whole crafting bullcrap is another issue. It takes way too long to make a suit for PvP or PvM. Maybe if people didn't have to spend 19 days working on making peices for a suit then another 4 days farming the ingredients for a suit they could spend time doing other stuff, like PvPing.

Maybe if a person didn't have to own 20 soulstones or dedicate 2 out of their 7 character slots to have all the skills to make decent suits they would create a "PvP" character instead of 2 crafters, a tamer, a PvM mage, and a PvM dexer.

and this is coming from someone who has 2 crafters and 2 red mages. I want to take my mystic red, but then I would not have 1 char I can take to tram and get stuff if need be.

At this point in the game it doesn't matter if the Devs give love to Felucca, what we need is some love for UO period. I mean as in more players, even Trammel is becoming a ghost town compared to the past.

If you really want folks to visit Felucca, you need new blood. The old veterans who play now will not visit even if million gold checks fall from the sky. I just don't see the point in adding more rewards there without somehow raising the overall player population.

I don't even know where to begin? I can make a suit for any character from scratch in under 2 hours. If you seriously spend that much time building a suit you're doing it wrong. If ingredients are the issue, tell me what shard you play and I'll give you a mil check to buy them. Did you play pre-imbuing? It used to take months to build a good suit. It's a night and day difference compared to how easy it is today.

I know a few here will be surprised to see me post this, but ...

I have to agree that Fel does need some love. There are a number of reasons why we all play this game, and it should be fun no matter how we play within the rules.

I began by PvPing, but it stopped being fun when my friends left due to things going on in their real lives. To that end, I became a lone player, and it was no longer fun to PvP. Who likes being jumped by 10 other PvP and talked junk too because you can't fight them all? That silliness led me to growing plants and, finally, to PvM.

I am not sure what solution can be found, but I can assure you that no one will want to go to Fel just to be jumped and picked on.

We see posts like this often because Fel is such a wasteland nowadays, and I know it is boring to fight the same few players everyday. Reality dictates that the entire game needs love and suffers from low populations. There are more lone players than ever, which is partly because the loot system is so poor that you can't trust other players to share loot fairly. I will never forget partying with a group of four others and getting a roll of cheese for all my work in Deceit one day. A roll of cheese that someone had even taken a bite out of.

I would love to participate in a champ spawn, but I know I will become easily offended when all I have worked for is stolen or looted from me, which means there would really be no reason to go to Fel.

And, here is the problem ... criticizing the efforts of others. What might be easy for you can be hard for others. Orgional Farimir is right. If you don't have the right ingredients or the meand to get them, then it really can take a while to get a good suit. If you are a lone player, you really can't go into SA and just come out backpack full of ingedients. Don't overestimate the resources and playstyle of others. Arrogance can allienate, and cause others to not be sympathetic to your cause.

Well considering "Some" (likely a great deal of people) quit UO because the lack of fel incentives cause little to no pvp, keep in mind Some people have nothing BUT red characters on their account(s), especially the Vet players that played pre-tram (less after) but they do still exist, they simply don't play, likely paying to keep their house(s) from decaying in hopes UO will become a better experience for them.

Basically my point is that the game wont get better unless improvements are made, I agree they've been doing an amazing job re-vamping the dungeons recently, they've claimed the "fel" side is supposed to have an increase in RNG (better loot/more often) you can spend 4 hours farming the same mobs in fel, then go to tram and notice absolutely no difference, though in Tram you run no risk of anyone Pking you, not to mention you can Recall In & Out of the tram dungeons (excluding wrong). which makes it much more convenient... Why go to fel?

Hi My Name Is is not interested in a conversation on PvP or Fel... Just an agenda. If we do not play as she does, then we just do not get it. He says he can build a suit in 2 hours? I would like to see that.

The reason I can make a suit in under 2 hours is because I put the time and effort necessary learning how to play the game. Nobody sat me down and held my hand teaching me how to play the game. I wanted to learn and so I did. I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy for someone who expects handouts instead of working for what they have.

I started playing right before T2A was released. I stoped playing right after Luna came out and then I started back up about 3 years ago. Suits were a LOT easier to make 14 years ago.

Of course I was over stating the time it takes to make suits, but it does take too long. Now adays I log on for maybe 1-2 hours a night in hopes there is some PvP going on and the last thing I want to do with my limited time is make peices after peices and farm resources.

  22. Are you serious? How awful are you tammies at making suits and getting resources...Just make a sampire...You can use basic armor and be just fine due to Curse Weapon. With all you trammies and PvMers, How are you all so dirt poor and dumb when it comes to making a suit. If you know basic math you can build a suit in under 30mins unless you are making a dumb template...So maybe 45mins

By "building a suit in two hours" I am referring to buying the ingredients, logging on a crafter, and imbuing the pieces. There is absolutely no reason you can't build a suit in two hours under those circumstances. I hope you're not generalizing all of UO based on Siege, a shard nobody plays (even for UO). Am I missing something that is supposed to make building a suit difficult?????

    First post?

Not everyone in UO wants to play a sampire... nor should they have to in order to enjoy the game.

I thought you were supposed to be a moderator? Everyone in this thread has been respectful and has actually attempted to back up what they say. All you do is post argumentative statements with absolutely no reasoning behind it. I would expect a little more from someone given the right to be a mod. I am disappoint.

  30. Than play another character to farm resources, you make it sound like a sampire is the only farming template. You can play a mystic and just Rising Colo spam and prob be the best PvMer to ever play. Play a bard...Hell you could use a crafter.

Let me translate: how is giving a reason for people to travel to fel considered to be a handout? There is no logic whatsoever behind your posts. This is the exact type of behavior you warn people for. Very frustrating from the viewpoint of a lowly poster like myself. If you do plan on giving me a warning or whatever, just remember who provoked the posts I just made.

Why does Fel need a reason? Why would people ever travel there? You can get killed there! You want a fix? Worry about a PvP fix. Fel is fine.

Trust me... My posts get way more inspected than yours. I have not been disrespectful or demeaning in any post in this thread. Just ask the hidden admins monitoring this.

Back on the real topic (kind of)
UO's pvp has been on a decline since changes from years ago, (spellcasting/wep spec toggling & removing ghost cams...)

I'm sure there are other reasons, but these are the ones I believe made the biggest negative impact on pvp.

For people who "live" in fel (pvp/pvm in fel only) there's not much nowadays for people to make a "living" in fel everything in fel aside from powerscrolls, you can get in tram so therefor there's little to nothing for the "Feluccians" to sell to the "trammies". (could be a somewhat hidden reason for this topic as well)

The rewards are the same in fel (other than (PS, Skill & Stat) as it is in tram thus the risk vs reward has been and continues to be removed from the game. the game is becoming one sided, more and more, trammies don't care if pvp dies, they could careless... most of them (atleast based on what people say here on stratics) would prefer to pvp to be removed...

If that's the case, I don't mind if tram gets removed...=/

i dont see either facet being removed, its the same as a shard merger discussion, or CC vs EC discussion, too many variables, no one can agree in a majority, dead subject IMO.

How do you not understand that without PvP there is no point in fel? Unless you get your jollies off by pick pocketing NPC's there is absolutely no difference between tram and fel except for PvP. Saying PvP needs attention but fel does not is a contradiction. If you have to replace "PvP" everywhere I said "fel" to understand my post, then by all means do so.

I have spent the last ten years of my play time on Siege Perilous. Do not tell me of risk and reward. You make sure you have enough gold for insurance... Fel is fine. It is just a place to be.

Kelmo I could see why you wouldn't think "fel" needs some attention because of the fact there is NO TRAMMEL on Siege.

Though I'm not sure if you play any Prodo shards. If you played em though, and actually pvped, you would see every shard is on life support in fel
even atlantic (at times) seems dead. and that's saying alot.

I would just like to hear, there are plans to improve the quality of fel (more pvp or something specifically for people who spend most of their gameplay in fel)

I still have no intention of qutting this game, but it's getting worse when there are no improvements made.

So what you're saying is you've interacted with about .2% of the total population of UO. Siege has to be one of if not the least populated shard in existence. PvP on Siege is nothing like PvP on a populated server. You sir are comparing apples and oranges.

No. I do not play any other shard. Siege is my home. I will visit other shards out of courtesy and curiosity. I did not bring Siege into this conversation by the way... but if you want to throw it in there. So be it.
