LJ'rs and PvP

    At one point in time a LJ swordsman was a good template. Now it's pretty much only used for collecting resources.

    Maybe they could implement some kind of special move for LJ if it's on your swords template... Possibly like a Staggering Blow? Something that puts the target into a haze for a couple seconds... I dunno. Throw out some ideas people.

    I looked on Stratics Weapon page and compared templates with 125 str, 100 anat, 100 tacs, 100 LJ, 50% DI and all sorts of other variations. It just doesn't seem like that BIG of a gain to spend 100 skill points to have that on your template. I'll have to run a test to see if it makes any kind of big difference in per hit damage output. I just think it'd be nice to see that skill come back a little more than just a resource gatherer anymore.

    Oh, and they'd need to make it so it wouldn't apply to a UBWS axe otherwise I think templates could get too gimp...but I could be wrong.

    Special Lumberjack Move: Long Arm of the Sasquatch

    For millenia lumberjacks and sasquatchesaurouses have shared the same environment. Over that time the lumberjacks and lumberjills have learned to stretch their arms out like sasquatches do to swat people who are chopping during the day and that sasquatch is on nightshift and just can't get enough sleep.

    The skill: The Long Arm of the Sasquatch when used lets axers hit an enemy from range in the style of archery and magery. The mana cost is applied in the same way as other special moves.

    This is the second best suggestion involving sasquatches ever made on this board and it totally rocks.

    I think it'd be nice to use as a PvP template helper... switch things up a bit instead of seeing the same kind of templates over and over and everyone running the same thing.
     
  5. Maybe they could add a much better damage increase and a hit chance increase that isn't affected by the cap.

    gm lumber does give you a bonus. at gm it gives 30 damage increase. i myself run a gm lumber 120 swords char on chessy who is named turles. ask anyone i hit insanely hard wih my damage increase in wep an jewls an the 30 from lumber i have 121 damage increase yes gm lumber counts over the 100 jewl set up =]

    there is the real problem :(
    plus sdi is capped at 15% for pvp.....

    About the only thing that could save the pure melee LJ would be a 'berserk' skill (manaless) at 100 only (or 120 w/new scroll) that could be activated every so often and raise resists to 100+ basically making the person immune to all damage types for a short time.

    I long for some sort of warrior template that needs no mana to be every bit as good as all the necropallies/sammyhealers/ninjamages/tamerweavers/archeralchemists, etc. After all, the Avatar of Ultima lore did not need to use spells... I never (rarely?) did to the best of my fading memory anyway, and I always won those games.

  10. Yeah, it would be really cool having a good warrior template that requires no mana.
