Hello I had a questions about whammys. Do whammys need LMC? I would think not since they leech mana. Also what weapon mods are best for whammys? Im thinking DI, hit life, hit stam and HLA. Thank you!

Depends what you need mana for. Leeching from Wraith form is a true leech. If your target runs out of mana so do you. LMC would be way more important than MR. Special if your going to chain specials back to back. Your total mana supply also plays a big role.

Some boss mobs have alot of mana. Then there are mobs like Narve who don`t. Alot of peerless hunters probable have the lmc. If you can save 40% on mana cost. Boss mobs mana that you drain will last a hell of alot longer. When adding lmc to your suit either have it at 20% or 40% lmc. If you see alot of the suits ppl post on the Warrior Forum. You`ll notice alot of them have lmc on their suits.

Some suggest strategies like Armor Ignore than ls. If all your going to do is ls then wraith form should work for about 90% of the mobs. Like I said it depends on what your using your mana for, & your template/

Lmc is not really needed on a whammy or sampire, but very very nice to have.
One reason is,you spend a lot less mana on weapon specials and spells, so you can do a lot more with the mana you leech back.Especially in situations where you cant do a lot of damage for whatever reason and still want to be able to keep things like feint running.
Other reason is, after a mana drain or vamp, you are much faster back into business.
You also get away with a much smaller mana pool, with 40 lmc, 40 mana or a bit less is perfectly fine.
Just some numbers as an example. Using 40 lmc and full mana discount, first armor ignore or double strike is 12 mana, next is 24 mana. Very easy to keep up with that even with fast weapons that do less damage.
Now, with 0 lmc and full mana discount, ai or ds are 20 mana first and 40 mana next.Much harder to keep that going.

For weapon mods, mana leech is still needed as additional mana is always welcome and mobs will run out of mana also.Next comes hld, either from weapon or glasses.
HLA makes stuff easier, but for most mobs you will do fine without. Stam
leech is always needed except on weapons with 2s speed and 35 ssi ( 35 ssi tessen do rock against some tough stuff on a whammy).
Life leech is not very useful at all except for non boss stuff that you can double strike spam for at least 100 - 120+ combined damage every swing, it somehow starts to work very nice then and you dont need curse weapon.Works also very well on a whirlwind weapon if you got enough targets.
Against bosses, you just keep curse weapon running and life leech will add very little here.

  7. I find it essential on every character.

It really depends on what you do with your sampire. I spam AI so I need 40.

Yeah I just use lightning strike for rite now. After I tested out mana leech and im no longer going oom.

I haven't tried anything too hard yet. I attempted a paragon balron.... I failed to honor so the balron beat me down pretty quick. Then again its all pretty new to me so im still learning.

Im also deciding between parry or resist. I like both but, I enjoy not getting mana vamped and what not so im leaning to resist.

I somehow get the impression you do not know one or two things about whammy's . Please take no offence, i explain just in case.

First , as a whammy, you are supposed to use curse weapon as your main form of healing. Curse weapon gives you 50% of the damage you deal back as hitpoints. So if you hit for only 50 points every swing at max weapon speed, you get back 200 hitpoints in 10 seconds. That alone is enough for most monsters out there. If its not,use a weapon that has the feint special move, it reduces the damage you take for 6 seconds. Curse weapon duration depends on your spirit speak skill, its 36 seconds for 120 spirit speak.

Then, wraith form has a built in mana leech as long as the monster got mana to leech from. Percentage depends also on your spirit speak skill, its 20% of the damage you do at 100 spirit speak. So these 50 damage from previous example give you 10 mana back every time you hit. You can also see now that mana drain from a single monster is nothing you have to fear as a whammy because after 1 or 2 hits you got enough mana back for everything.

Do not worry about getting killed by para balrons now. They can be a bit hard as they hit for alot. You will laugh about them when you got better equipment and got experience how to play such a char.

I ran a test on slasher using my whammy (max hci, 55 ssi, 300 DI cap using bush)archer that only has 30 ss = 6% mana leeching in wraith form. I do around 174-198 damage per hit spamming AI. So at the most I get 11 or 12 mana regen from wraith form. Is this correct? So on my bow I have 36 ml, which if I follow the formual I get around 66 mana per hit. My mana pool is only 47. I aske myself do I need to be in wraith form then?

Tried it again in non wraith form. I could not regen mana fast enough to spam AI.

36 ml on bow means that from 36% of your damage you can leech 0-40% mana.
So for at 200hp hit this can be 0-28.8 mana. So the 11-12 you get from wraith make a huge difference. Thats the reason why wraith with only joat ss and necro is sometimes useful.
