I'm looking for info on "Queen of Thieves" ring.
I heard this ring is from event.
I heard there is "King of Thieves" ring, too.

Does anyone know this ring's info ?

1 of 2 things probably, Either a UO Magic Moments Wedding ring where the bride and groom wanted a thieves theme. Or, an old Seer ring either given out in a quest or holds the same concept as the other idea. Either way, It's an extremely nice ring worth hundreds of mils. :)

its an old seer item and only the where abouts of one is semi publicly known.

The last one sold went for around 400-500m if I'm not mistaken.

How could it be Semi publicly known when she has it posted in a pic up top? And everything else is basically exactly what I said lol. Considering theres about a 90% chance thats it's a 1 only item I personally don't think there is a second one.
A question for you DVI, How can you be so sure it's a Seer item and not one of the other Scenario's I suggested?

Did you know where it was or whom it belonged to? Does anyone else on this forum know where it was or whom it belonged to?

It's definitley unique ( my reference to it as the last one sold, was a typo and should've been when last sold)

Perhaps I know more about it then you, perhaps thats how I can be sure.

Whom it "Belonged" to is irrelevant wouldn't you think? Whom it "Belongs" to now is what's Relevant, and that's Piel heh.

And yes it is Unique I never said otherwise. You jumped to the seer conclusion tho with no supporting evidence as to why when there is a perfectly good chance it could have possibly came from some where else as in the other ideas I suggested. You say you know more about it than me, How so might I ask?

  8. The ring originally was a seer event item. Or an item created uniquely by some seer or GM ages ago. Waaaayyyyy before magic moments. I knew of one on Atlantic before X-sharding ever existed. A friend of mine owned it at one point.

There are several problems with calling it "unique".

    1. I knew of one on Atlantic like I said before x-sharding. So if someone from another shard can claim to have seen/known of its existance on their shard, there goes the unique claim.

    2. There were tooooooons or unique rings made on each shard way back in the day years and years ago. For guilds, friends of GM's/Seers, old old weddings. (Not magic moment ones. Actual in game weddings that Seers/Old GMs attended when they had a lot more liberties to go have fun with the populations of their shards).

    3. Anyone could very well have bought one of the more recent Magic Moment packages. Wedding, Halloween, random party or whatever. And if it was a Wedding you obviously got 2 rings you could uniquely name (Someone could easily have asked for "Queen of Thieves/King of Thieves" ring set). There would be 0 way to distinguish if it was a silver ring and blessed. And even if they didnt purchase a wedding package. When you bought any other package the GM who ran it (or whatever their title is, party thrower, etc). Would give you a uniquely named item, or wedding gifts, party favors). The possibilities are endless.

Could it still be unique/1 of a kind. Possibly. Is it likely? I would imagine there is a handful of them out there. Resulting from any possible combination of the above sources.

Thanks all for all informations !

Even if this ring is not unique one, this is the best item for my thief.
I will never sell this ring until UO ends :)

This is exactly why I can't really imagine the 400-500m bid (though I don't think DVI lies). I personally collect named rings (not just magic moments) and I have some with pretty cool names. But they only fetch 10-30m. They are unique too (can't imagine too many duped wedding rings..) so why is this ring worth ~25 times more than other rings saying similar stuff, that have also been given out by seers.

  11. At this point in time, given all the possibilities/scenarios that the ring is no longer unique. I agree, 400-500mil offers would only be made by someone lacking all the knowledge of the current situation.

Back in the day, before magic moments, when this ring (again assuming it is the 1 of a kind one I knew of on Atlantic) one of a kind. It was insanely desirable and would of fetched a ton of gold by the standard of that day. But yea, today, with all the named rings out there. And the possibility that more than 1 were created (highly likely over time). Its a 50-150mil ring I'd say personally. Nobody can confirm/deny if its "the one" that existed on Atlantic ages ago. Or if its even from Atlantic, thus making it non unique.

In no way taking away from the coolness/value of the item. Its a sick rare. Anytime you can get a ring without some goofy chars name on it. With just a cool saying/line of text. Its value is way more than a name tagged one so.

Well there is no evidence to suspect there is/was another one created unless I missed something in the preceding posts. Sure seers could have created more but that can be said about almost any other seer item which we often readily accept as unique. I believe that the ring that Piel has is the one that can be directly traced back to the one from Atlantic. It left Atlantic sometime in 2006.

As to the question regarding why it would be worth so much more than other uniquely named rings - one has to only imagine the value of it to someone who loves being a thief in UO.

Back in around 2006 or late 2005 it sold for 80M gold - I am kicking myself for not buying it as it had been sitting on the vendor next to mine for over a week looking for a buyer. So few hundred million in today's market is not surprising. I can promise you that king of thieves ring, if it were to surface, would easily fetch that much or more. Heck, there was even a guild on Atlantic whose mission was to find the whereabouts of that ring!! How many other rings have that type of a following?

WOW i love the ring and cant help but feel jealous hehehehe however i have 1 question to ask if no one minds:)

NOT hijacking the post but is it just the line of text that makes this ring worth so much? for example how much would a wedding ring with a normal chars name on it be ? like "galadriels wedding band"

Also if anyone has a wedding ring with the name dreamweaver on it i would be very interested hehehehe thats if 1 even exists!
