Lumberjack Love?

    No its not what you think. But can the lumberjacks get some love?

    Miners have +1, +3, and +5 mining gloves. That for all intensive purposes, last forever.

    Lumberjacks have Melisande's Corroded Hatchet, which gives a +5 attribute. However it wears out. And they are not that common of a drop. So can we get one that is rechargable? Or make it more easily aquired?

    Any other ideas on how to give us some love too?

    There is no bonus for having over 100 lumberjacking though so are skill items needed unless you are trying to save some room on a crowded template?

    It only wears out on Siege, and doesn't add to GM, so is only useful if you're char is below GM.

    Also, unless the gloves of mining are blessed or insured (not bloody likely on Siege), a Verite Elemental or Valorite Elemental WILL eventually break them with their special equipment breakage power. I've lost 3-4 pair over the last 7 years, before deciding to just wear my regular, insured, equipment on Lake Austin.

    Another thing about comparing Mel's hatchet to the gloves being apples and oranges, is that one is 100% successful to make boards, when even with +5 gloves, the top ores are still under 100% chance to successfully smelt (105 mining: 62% chance to smelt Valorite, 70% for Verite, 80% for Agapite, 90% for gold, and supposedly 100% for bronze, but I've failed on bronze even at 105 before, so probably there's a rounding error somewhere)

    ah, so siege only, and im not GM yet. I just figured if it went to 105, might make ingredients, or rare woods easier to get from the tree

    Hey, lumberjacks don't have to SMELT (and carry risk of completly losing ore). That's what i call LOVE. It's already here, open your eyes.

    I enjoy the combat miner. The use of the gargoyle pickaxe and the bonus form rare ore spawning. Even more so now with them having CBR as loot.

    What jackers need is the reapers axe to spawn rare wood treefolk. And garg land spawns to have the crystal shards as loot. Could even add in the carp quest rewards something like the tree spike. Item that works like the prospector hammer for bumping wood type gathered.

    The reaper axe could be added to the reapers loot and to the quest rewards.

    heh. i love it when people make these useless topics without even thinking about how the game actually works. as people mentioned, the reason mining gets those extra items is because there is a huge potential for losing a lot of their ore.

    what do lumberjacks have to lose? nothing.

    LETS SEE! We just got makeing boards with an axe, and not needing carpentry to make boards anymore.
    Shut up 'fore they take that away. Do you even remember before special wood?
    Look how long it took for us to get diff wood? what 8 years? 8 years to get a +lumberjack item at all.12 years to get board making without carpentry.
    Don't remind Devs we are even here, or it will be 10 more before we get anything else.
