mage pvp advice...

    Ok, im returning to uo after 2 or 3 years and was wondering what mage templates were good nowadays... i used to play a parry-wrestle mage(red) and a nix-swords mage (blue). Anyway, how do these templates stand up nowadays? is it nessicary to have parry and wrestle, or has the power of the dexer/archer been toned down a little (when i left they were all the range), and if so would...

    120 mage
    120 eval
    120 med
    120 resist
    120 wrestle
    100 scribe
    20 focus

    be a usable stat. Also, is it still poss to cast at 4fc with chiv for heals an remove curse, and if so, how would be best to incorperate that into the above stat (i cant remember how much chiv you need but think it was 60, i guess drop 20 med, but where would the other 20 come from?).

    Also, for the tank, how would:

    120 mage
    120 eval
    120 med
    120 resist
    120 swords
    100 nox
    20 focus

    hold up, how could it be tweaked to make it that little bit better?

    Also, any suggestions for a good necro/mage template and how to equip it - ive seen that that might be the best atm, and as i have another char with 120 necro/mage/med/eval/ss/resist it shouldnt be too hard to adjust it...

    Archers can be overpowered if they have 45hci hit lower defense and a nasty bow with hit firebal/magic arrow

    You need 80 dex to parry effectivly. less makes you less effective.

    You need 69.9 magery or less to cast chiv at fc4

    only need 80 poison to lethal.

    Everyone uses cure pots so its not that effective.

    dci glasses
    ornament of magician
    inquis gloves/ or that shield with fcr2
    AOF


    gorget
    sleeves
    legs
    (gloves if you used shield)

    with high fire/poison/phys and 40lrc and mr and lmc

    sc -mage one handed weapon with dci

    120 Mage
    120 SS
    120 Eval
    120 Resist
    110 necro
    120 med (mr doesn't really work unless you have med)

    nadir is basically on the money with the suit.

    45 dci 100 lrc 40 lmc 7+mr necro mage rocking a mage wep with as low a mage penalty as possible... the pieces you require to make the suit work also give u some added advantages... HP INC... HPR....

    i run that but i use 105 necro and 35 focus.... i don't think the extra 5 helps in either but 105 necro is all i need to cast strangle... (i never use revs)

    Your parry mage template is still viable... you'll still want DCI.. and 80 dex would be best... .. but that is possible with pots...... however your not much good for anything on the field besides being a meatsheild and xhealing.

    I thought they "fixed" FC so that only chiv spells were cast at 4/6.

  7. I just discovered by accident (I came across a good scrappers/arcane shield combo) that having 4 FC works wonders with spellweaving.

    Now I don't know what I'd do without the 4/6.
     
  8. Goodness, gracious.

    You got stuff. Now use it. Stay with what you know. Nowadays, make sure your puter is up and running with the hot stuff that pushes the server, like at least 2.6 GHZ or more, 2 or more RAM, and a decent video card. On top of that, macro your best, and keep it simple, remembering Last Target on your mouse. Macros. Evade. Macros.

    You'll do just fine. Flowers over the dead.

    Don't forget to insure your items. If they didn't have insurance when you left you could make a costly mistake if you don't use it now.
