Is anyone else rebuilding suits to compensate for the change in magic reflection via pub 69?
Will need to rebuild my sampire suit and the one my pvm ninja uses. Did have plans to do that anyway, but still got 2 other suits to do . Not looking forward to gather all the neccesary resources again, and i dont like to buy them. Very time consuming and boring and i will be ANGRY if this change makes it into pub 69.
Yeah, having suits prepared before the change means less downtime later. This is a game where gear changes, it's not worth being irritated.
You guys changing anyside besides amount of armor?
Depends if these changes nullify the benefits to resists on my toons suits. Will just have to wait and see for sure.
If they do effect things, will need to designate more property weight to resists, and decide which goodie mods I'll have to tone down.
I don't honestly think it will change things all that much, but yes a major pain in the rear having to redo 8 different suits.
Ugh.. make that 11..
I don't understand why they don't take a useless spell like Arch Protection, and change THAT to the new functionality.
Personally I feel it would be better to take arch protection and make it work how Magic reflect currently does, of course they have to rename arch protection but still that's just how I feel about it.
And slightly confused everyone, are you all saying that as warriors you use magic reflection? Aside from dying and having to recast it being some what annoying, wouldn't it be easier to just base your suit off not having 80 physical and having 70 in everything else? And...shouldn't the spell not stay active or is it not subject to the "real skill" test?
Yeah im with Cloak & Dagger; The way i understand it is that majic reflection can now just be removed / defeated by other players, not just by death.
Are you guys saying that because youve built suits around majic reflection (i assume using items to cast it) that theyll be ruined by this change?
Or am i missing something, and my pure melee suits with 70s resists (fire and poison a bit higher from when i ran with no resist spells) will be messed up?
I can see why this would affect mage suits, because to make the most of your skills you would want to have majic reflect on at all times after this change, but i dont really see that as a major problem as all my suits are built to allow use of protection spell.
If im missing something please let me know so i can have changes ready if this patch remains the same and ever goes live.
As it works now, it lowers your physical resist in exchange for enhancing all of your elemental resists. Basically is a free 15 resists to your suit build. (-25 phy, +10 to each elemental)
Considering the physical is the easiest to got way over 70 to compensate for the loss do to the spell, this spell allows crafters/imbuers to truly max out a suits possibilities. (Also helps combat the big hit you take when running in Vamp form)
Personally I carry a Tome of Knowledge, a +15 Bracelet, and some Reflect scrolls with me to allow me to put the buff on almost all of my characters. Mules and taming characters are the only exception.
I don't use it on any character except my Necro/Scribe/Mage, with Inscription having both RA & MR cast gives you 0/5/5/5/5 resists, the Corpse/Wraith proof part of his suit currently depends on it, if it wears off with the return of the old effect it is probably going to result in me not using it at all.
Current suit: 71/80/70/75/75, 100 lrc, 40 lmc, 12 mr, 18 sdi, 45 dci, 2/6, +20 magery, 50 e.p., 25 hp, 19 int, 8 mana, 12 casting focus, with interchangeable jewels from 50 e.p to +20 resist spells.
Thanks for the input. So basically if you dont rely on it, you dont need to change suites at all, unless your a mage where it would be an advantage.
So since i make most my casting suites with 85 phys and rest 70 (or over), i should be ok, just a maybe have to make one or 2 new peices of armor per suite.
