Make Fishing double amount in Fel.

    Would be great if when you fished in Fel. you would get double amount of fish like you do mining and lumberjacking.

    Just to get people to actually fish in fel and make a use of the cannons and Boat vs Boat system that you implanted in the game.
    Now there is no benefit of fishing in fel so nobody why should people fish in fel when they can do it safely in Tram.

    Yes but how long you going to fish for those rare ones, if the fish for the quests was doubled on fel people might fish in fel to get them faster.

    Personally I have no use for the rare fish, some might make pies and sell them but not for quests so what other use is there for them?
    except trophy maybe.

    Meh, get rid of double everything and let the facets stand on their own merits (and this is from someone who has spent several years now completely exploiting (legally) the double mining resources 100% safely in Fel).

    How do you catch two fish with one hook? Double crabs and lobsters would be great though!

    Another *Lure* to get targets into fel for the PKers? Sheesh... Eleven years since the creation of Trammel saved this game from dieing due to the PKers driving most of the paying customers out of the game and some still haven't caught on that people don't care to pay a monthly fee to be fun for others instead of having fun themselves.

    I am with you on this, especially if crabs were doubled...it takes FOREVER to catch 20 crabs for a quest, I would be spending my entire time in Fel because the risk is worth the reward...

    Additionally since you cant constantly dry dock & facet it will make the "high seas" more enjoyable for Red Pirates


    Side Note: The whole trap system in UO is a joke regardless...i have never seen a lobster/crab trap that catches one lobster/crab at a time...even on the 17th Century fish ships

    Since all of Siege Perilous is subject to the Fel ruleset and murderous red characters can go anywhere, it would make sense that you get double resources all over the shard.

    But you don't.

    Figure that one out.

    Im assuming that your disregarding the fact that these traps hold 5 crabs/lobsters. You just have to be willing to leave them in the water and have a bigger percentage of loss.

    Maybe I am losing my mind but everytime I put a trap in I wait until it says "bob" then I pull it out and there is always only 1 crab or lobster...what do you mean 5 fit in the traps?

    I also loose the traps for no reason sometimes...I put them in, they never say "bob" and they sink

    I agree with this as a Fel player. I don't take joy in picking fights with people's resource gathering characters. If someone doesn't want to fight they shouldn't have to. I've held to this even before Trammel existed.

    I've had a few awesome boat fights since High Seas came out and as fun as they were they were only fun to me because everyone involved was enjoying it. Killing a lone fisherman out at sea is not my idea of a good time. This coming from a former dedicated classic shard supporter.

    Edit: I will add however that I do like what double resources on a facet does for casual/staring players. This game has carried on a tradition for too long of catering too much to veteran/hardcore players (in my opinion) while blowing off the casual/starting ones. So the more "double resource" locations are added to the game the better for casual/starting players.

    The thing is that the way Fel is right now, there is almost no risk whatsoever anyway to get double resources that justify the existence of a resource difference in the facets. You can mine in two HUGE guard zone areas and obtain every color of ore in bulk if you have the right tools, you can lumberjack in many guard zone areas as well as having a world big enough to be effectively a "needle in a haystack" (which would be the same effect for fishing really).

    My miner's ONLY deaths to date in mining in Fel have been due to Ore elems for one reason or another (i.e. the weird time of pulling up 3 verite elems in as many digs, or not taking a copper or Val elem seriously enough). It has not been due to another player... and this is going for at least 5 years.

    The concept isn't exactly working the way it is currently done. Ditch the doubled resources, get the PvP systems revamped into something that draws people who WANT to be involved in them into them and let Fel stand on its own.

    Right now, as it stands, I have NO reason to mine in any other facet because there is no real risk, but the rewards are doubled. Like the Luck property, the real result is rather contrary to the concept.

    If you wait for second bob then there are 2 in the trap, each minute you go by, there is a greater chance that the trap will go under. I put out about 75 traps at a time and wait 6-7 minutes before picking them up. I lose between 20-30 traps but i usually have 50-55 named crabs in a haul like that. Honestly i think a 4 minute wait would be ok if you arent shooting for a rare crab. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th crabs in a pot each have a better shot at being rare im told. I tested the theory and it turns out to be correct.

    Hmm, i sometimes lose traps without it bobbing, is that normal?

    ill place 8-10 traps, watch then, when one bobs ill pick it up and place a new one but sometimes they go under for no reason

    I do fish in Fel. Doubled leather and scales from the sea serpents makes it worth to me. I think I have once seen another ship on my radar and it turned faster its direction than anything else. The tradeoff for fishing in Fel is, that all of my cought treasure maps are Fel, too. (Thought not many want Lvl 1's, no matter which facet those are.) I dont need doubled fishes ... actually it would be more a reason for me not to fish in Fel. I have enough of the deep water fishes and I still hate the high weight of those new fishes. To be on the safe side with weight, I recall every dry fished spot out and dump my fishes into an extra chest. I would need to recall out more often with doubled fishes. (16*2*10 stones per spot + leather/scales from serpents + occasionally rare fish would be too much.)

    Because the *choice* is not there. One can not choose to gather in a trammel over felucca, when Siege has no trammel, thus our resources on Siege never got the doubling, cuz all we have is felucca.

    Not sure dbl fishes in felucca would work, ya only get one hook on the fishin poles, add the weight of catchin dbl fishes,
    but since fish are a *resource* odd that fishes are not dbl'd anyhow automagically fel side.
    It might work better to get 2x the amt of lobsters and crabs in the lobster traps though, fel side.

    *crys* I wish more folks on Chesapeake would realise that New Magincia the actual island is all guardzoney. I am tired of people being so afraid of felucca even New Magincia that I barely SEE anyone on the New Magincia felucca Chesapeake. IT IS ALL GUARDZONEY..probably more trammel than trammel.

    The New Magincia on Siege is busier natch, than our New Magincia on Chesapeake *fel side* even tram side ...go figure ! :(

    I even tested it out on Siege first, the guards speed haxxors so fast regarding anyone attacking anyone *unless faction fights* that New Magincia is probably *Safer* even in felucca than anywhere in game ! That why I say it is probably more *trammel* than trammel even fel side New Magincias !

    Course boating out in the water be same fel ruleset but on the actual island it's like some new UO twilight zone all guardzoney even on Siege or feluccan New Magincias atm anyhow.

    Anyhow :( tired of folks being scared to even visit me on New Magincia Chesapeake, fel side. Folks need to explore that New Magincia too, it is ALL GUARD ZONEY ! Sheesh !

    *inserts plug*Anyhow if ya need furniture, recalls ;) MiBS fishing poles, plot N3 in all guardzoney felucca New Magincia... is up and running Chesapeake ! :):scholar:

    It's not an issue of being afraid of felucca, it's not wanting the hassle.

    There is little to no reason to visit felucca at all these days.

    It was quite different 4-5 months after the split, as the vast majority of the vendors were still located there. But once they all moved, why bother going back?

    Every attempt at luring people back has been a flop.
