Oh, I already created one, which will be available for download as a big JPG file as soon as I have added all the labels (dungeon entrances, points of interest, city names etc.).
Check the Ultima Online Travelogues site in about 2 weeks!
Unfortunately the map changed in several areas as of the last patch.. for example, there was a large manorhouse southwest of the royal city next to a sort of stadium setup and a pyramid.. now its just the stadium, which is a lava pit now, and the pyramid. Sorry to say but you'll probably have to redo a lot.
The area looks like this now:
The bottom portion of Ter Mur, the little village surrounded by snowy mountains:
The above pic is the Gargoyle lands in Ultima VI which are faithfully reproduced in Ter Mur
Mostly.. that little mountainous hook on teh southeast end isn't there.. ;P
You are massively helpful bro.
Thanks so much for ALL your hard work. I don't just mean this map.
After updating the beta client I can understand why you didn't notice the map changes.. it seems the map files weren't updated for when the maps were this time.. they're probably waiting on doing that until the landmasses are finalized.
Best I can say is to use 2D's radar and run around to try and spot the differences, unless you know how to get InsideUO or UOAM working for Ter Mur.
I wish I did know.
Thanks for the info JC!
And now... can anybody post where the entrance is/directions how to get to the Underworld & Stygian Abyss?
Thanks to some help getting InsideUO working and a bit of paint tweaking, here would be the most recently updated versions of the maps, along with the direct from InsideUO full and full with altitude map files.
I combined the two like I did because some of the tile types are blacked out on the 2D radar for some reason, and the straight from 2D one doesn't have altitude data, and the InsideUO version with it can look odd for a usable map.
Figure it out yourself from there.
Can you post your InsideUO additions? I tried but couldn't figure out how to determine the block width setting.
Also, am I seeing correctly that there are 3 areas of the same type next to each other? That looks like the same type of method I suggested a while ago to handle "instancing". Just redirect parties to a different physical location.
Not sure if I can post it or not... asking.
Those multiple areas.. it was hinted that it was some form of instancing, but nothing was ever said about it again after those hints.. not sure if they're used now or not.
I have absolut no clue about stuff like this, but is there a way to get these maps added to uoam ??
Since it is no longer being updated it will be a pain to run around here with guildies...
InsideUO is now open source, you can repost freely.
I don't think so without an unauthorized patch. The UOAM creator stated 2 years ago no more updates would be made to the program. And an update is needed to show the new maps.
well I for one don't plan on running around in these new lands except maybe to the dang bank there to learn the skills I will need. Since UOAM will not be updated and I will not play in the NEW SA client [still looks to much like KR and I hate the interface] the only account that will be updated to it will be the one that has the main crafters on it. Now when Mondain exp came out we spent like $120 dollars to upgrade 4 accounts. Today if this exp was to come out we would spent the $30 to upgrade one account. Maybe two accounts, maybe.
Now if UOAM was updated to these new lands? humm that is another story.
Actually I wanted to make sure the person who said how to do it was fine with me reposting it.
Download the "InsideUO.xml" and put it in the same directory with the InsideUO executable. It will add all the proper options and such, and let you define the necessary file paths to show Ter Mur.
Please note; if you have previously edited your InsideUO xml file to add any of the additional monsters and such that have been added since Mondain's Legacy this file doesn't include those and replacing will delete them. Of couse, if you have them you already know how to edit the file, and should be able to copy/paste the new stuff. If you do so and your InsideUO has refused to ever show New Haven, copy and paste the Trammel map section as well.
Oooh these look nice.
Thanks for the maps, they will help for now
Crysta! Great work on the maps!! Thank you very much.
Yes! Great question. Maybe a new thread on this subject will get some answers or progress.
