Max storage per account, instead of 1 house?

    Heya,

I play on 3 shards, mainly because I like to have different kind of templates to play. I don't have so much time for this game, that I would feel ok to pay for more then 1 account, so I just expand my playing to other shards to get my templates.

Problem of course is that I can have only 1 house.

What if there was max house storage limit per account, instead of limiting it to 1 house per account. This way players like me could have 7x7 house on couple of shards instead of having one max storage house on one shard like I have now.

This way people could not fill all shards with huge houses, but they could still use houses on different shards.

You're forgetting the EA sort of makes money, on those extra accounts that people are forced to have if they want more playable templates without needing 42 full soulstones..

used to be back when that each character could own a house... then got dropped to one house per shard. then osi sold to ea and 1 house per account. Grats to the old grandfathered accounts that had the tower with the small house on top XD wish i had that one

The main reason it was one house per account is because of housing space. One of the big selling features of Trammell was that there would be a whole new world to place houses in, this had many people excited because prior to its release you could spend weeks searching for a lot big enough for your 2 story or large brick.. forget about a tower.

Forcing people to chose between houses, or not be able to place extra houses, helped clear a lot of space up for others to place their own. It also helped cut down on lag issues by removing useless homes that never saw proper use, and the items within them. Later on they just adapted to only load house items when you step on the fron steps.. before it would load everything as you ran by.

Now that the population has dwindled quite significantly.. I could see EA perhaps moving to one per server again in the future. I think this is a reasonable request.

    ...

While I can't really see going back to one per shard entirely, I think two houses per account, one per shard would be a good level at the current time.

Also make it so that if you have a house on a normal shard and one of Siege that the Siege house must be refreshed manually.

    Just my thoughts on it

there is all kinds of open housing space in the game now. having a house per shard is reasonable.

It's not about the space anymore, its about the money generated for EA. This is a game to us but a business to them.

I play on 2 shards myself and the moment I am allowed to have 2 houses on one account, I would be shutting down my additional accounts. I am sure many others would do the same. I can't honestly think of a good reason why EA would purposely choose to lose money.

I've been a keeper of many houses for a very long time. At one time between me and my guild mate/rl best friend we had 14 accounts and a house on each one.

Since he quit playing I've dwindled down to only five accounts and five houses. I can say with confidence that if we were allowed two houses per account I'd have ten houses.

You could always trade storage with a friend.

Each of you could co-own the other to their main shard house and have a secure each, which is enough to swap items between your own characters. The storage upgrade is also worthwhile, 150 items per bank box, 150 items in your backpack, and a further +20% house storage.
