Hi, I have just finished every skill possible in the game except for throwing. Every skill is at max skill points, i.e. GM or Legendary. I would like to create the most insane, wackiest template possible, that would actually do something in the game. I need ideas to get me started on this character. Please post your template suggestions and how you would use the character.

    Thanks, Katrena

What do you intend to do with said template?

Tjalle, It depends on what suggestions people post for a template and how they envision it used. I'm looking for ideas that are not the typical character.

    Herding x 100
    Camping x 100
    Forensic Eval x 100
    Tracking x 100
    Begging x 100
    Hiding x 100
    Stealth x 100

Hows that for insane and atypical? :p

If you seriously want to put together the absolute best template for a specific situation, then it's likely that it will include a skill or two, maybe even three - that are not at GM level... You'll need to be a bit more specific in terms of what you want this superman/woman char to actually do....
    Just a thought...

    I once played a PvP-Cook:

    Core skillz:
    100 Cooking
    100 Poisoning
    100 Taste ID
    100 Hiding
    100 Stealth
    100 Alchemy

120 points are free to choose, but camping or item id complement this template very well, should you run out of ideas.

    Preparations for a successful fight:
    Bake cakes. Lot's of 'em.
Brew deadly poison. Again lot's of em.
    Poison cakes. All of them.

    Strategy:
    1. Place poisoned cake on the floor while stealthing at fel yew gate.
    2. ???
    3. Win

While I must confess I smile at that template, I also am constrained to say that no character I have willingly would live in a town where the sheriff had to beg.

    Template One
Back when Imbuing was first proposed, before we knew how it'd work, there was a template someone, I forget who, posted that he or she was 'afraid' of because, if it was viable, it'd be the end of crafting.

    Imbuing
    Weapon Skill
    Tactics
    Healing
    Anatomy
    Chivalry
    Focus

I think it was. This character allegedly would be able to get his or her own loot and then Imbue it. Later we learned that crafted, GM-made stuff would be Imbue-able to a greater extent than would loot. And, like many fears, this particular fear largely was baseless.

But maybe there's another use for that template?

    Template Two
Could try and see if combat is viable using only Wrestling (an unarmed Asian Martial Arts type...Sadly we have no Western combat skills in UO useful for something like this).

    Wrestling
    Tactics
    Ninjitsu
Bushido (for lightning strikes of course, make your fists do 35 damage I believe)
    Meditation
Focus (need both because you can't leach anything with your hands)
Magery (for healing spells and for summons to help you fight).

Right now I'm building a wandering healer(just for fun and rp). She has magic, eval intel for travel and healing people, vet and animal lore for pets, herding just because it seemed to fit her and fishing, after all she had to eat. Haven't decided on the last skill. Maybe camping, any suggestions?

    i made a monk.
he of course has that nice brown robe on with sandals and holds a staff.

110 healing (120 with mask on)
110 anatomy (120 with mask on)
90 Med (ringed up to 120)
90 Spirit Speak (ringed up to 120)
    120 Peace
    120 Music
    80 Chiv

i use that staff that has +20% healing on it.
so i can cruise around and heal people for 80HP every 2 seconds.
i can also talk to the dead and heal with SS.
my suit also has 20 HPR on it and when i run the peace masteries that gives me 40 HPR
plus it also gives +20 HPR/MR/SR to everyone in my party AS i heal them.
the chiv is on there so i can get around and also as a fall back i can do a MASS team resurrect if need be.

perfect template for backing up the party when doing bigger game.
fun template for going to events and RP a Disavowed Monk.

These are some awesome ideas and very playable. I just tried Wrestling and Bushido to see how that works. Using Lightning Strike with your bare knuckles is neat. I might throw on Music and Discord to see how that works.

I've never heard of anyone. Forensic eval is (at least was) hard enough. Remember Don Corleone, who wanted to GM it because he'd never heard of anyone else who had?

Yes, some of us have GM Camping. Many years ago, when learn by watching was still enabled and prior to skill locks, people would start campfires to mess with you and force your skills to adjust. I can remember avoiding town, just to avoid accidentally gaining +22.2 camping skill on the first watch, and losing that 22.2 from the 2 or maybe three skills I had managed to GM and maintain.

    The higher skills decayed fastest.

    Ah, the "good" ol'days.

I eventually GM'd camping just to say I did it. I think it took about 35 mins or so. I left it on a character for many years until soulstones came about, then put it on a stone just to say I had it.

    What a memory.

Forensic Evaluation is easy to GM using picked paragon chests and UOAssist. The only skill that can't be GM'ed using the skill or GGS is Taste Identification. You have to finish it with SOT's.

    i got it.
i think youll find a lot of people who ran hard core thief's around when Doom came out will have GM camping on a soulstone due to the fact that you could insta log out in the lap post room with it.

there are a couple old timers that did this challenge years ago.
get all skills in game to max on soulstones and have one guy that is scrolled up on every skill so he can use them all.

i know i have it, i know Taz has it done as well and i recall a couple others have done it over the years.
its fun to try every skill in game and then stone it.
the odd time there is a event where ya need a weird template or strange skill combo to do good.

I doubt that. At 0 skill camping can still be done with little difficulty (personal experience).

Can add me to that list; finally have every single skill at max now that I finished taking fishing to 120. Have a few chars completely scrolled out but only one with the 120 fishing. Need to get my hands on a few more of those. :)

you doubt that i have GM camping or you doubt that a lot of thiefs picked up GM camping to get an endless amount of lamposts when DOOM came out?

camping is a easy skill to work.
    get a knife.
    get hiding.
park at a tree and hide.
make a uoassist macro to hit tree to get kindling, dd click item type (kindling)
    rinse repeat.

I seem to have missed the part where you said "i got it", so if those are my only two options I would have to go with the second one, lol.

But as I already said, since 0 skill is more than enough to use kindling and a sleeping back to instantly log off, I doubt that a lot of thieves found it necessary to waste that much skill in it. I sure didn't find it necessary :p

    ohhhh ok

ya no what was happening in the lamp room was it would fill with poison gas once you took the lamp.
so if you wanted to stay in there and be able to get them without doing the rock drop every time was ya had to insta log out in there before the gas would kill you.
for that you wanted to have GM camping so you wouldnt fail as the gas was brutal.

of course..... that was considered a exploit back then and bannable if you got caught doing it....

Ah, ok that makes sense. I camped there once doing that (managed to avoid the gas). However, I got bored after a couple days and left. The lamppost wasn't worth the time spent to me, hehe.

    120 tame
    120 animal lore
    100ish vet
    120 music
    120 discord
    100 mage
rest whatever depending how much skill is carried in gear.

Pack of frenzy or hellhounds. Remember to use pets as more grenades and speedbumps. No attachment. Magery high enough to rez friends. Find a disco tamer is not going to be out soloing Slasher. But when it comes to taking down high HP low skill critters non is better. The template is a handfull and takes getting used to. Most have used a chainsaw, but few have juggled them.

Always fun. Those never seen a pack in action think they can fight the one slotters. They get circled with only three directions to run. For a spit second you see them wiggle a bit in an attempt to escape and die. For those with past experience they drag them off a few screens and loop back to get their master. Having 5 pet balls for twist. Macro use 1st ball "All Kill" last target, 2nd ball "All Kill" last target and so on. As they return and get in range they get a face full of frenzy. First one I see comes back dead I make better use my time recalling off to gather leather from Boura. A template is best used for what they are good at.
