Yep... pretty simple, much like show caps shows us the cap of a skill on a player, I'd like to see the same on pets. No reason for it not to be there.

Funny isn't it? 90% of the things people 'ask' for are already available in the EC and the EC with pinko's is even better, yet they just won't swap over. The EC is gaining in numbers every month. Although there still seems to be some kind of warped sense of pride in those that continually state "CC for life, never gonna change, etc etc".

Never could fathom the inability of people to change. Especially when the same people then want all the changes.

Even weirder given they 'love' the CC so much but continually ask for things that are NOT part of the CC. I am all for each to their own, just don't understand why if something is 'loved' so much why they want it changed so much :p

When the EC was developed at considerable expense, it was stated clearly that the CC would still be supported, but that if you wanted the bells and whistles you would nave to move over to the EC due to the inability and the amount of dev time required to make changes to an ancient game with spaghetti coding.

Well hmmm you want this stuff, bite the bullet and move over :)

The EC with Pinco's only shows the maximum that any creature of that type can have, right? They don't show the creature's particular maximums. When I tame a new greater, I have to note its pre-tame maximums and subtract 10%.

I've said before that if the graphics weren't so ugly, I'd consider switching over. Paperdolls look great, but my toons themselves look horrible. Legacy backpack art is horribly pixelated and doesn't show stacks like the CC does. Grid art is even worse.

Here's a shortcut for a fresh tame g dragon. When its a fresh tame without any training 96skill=120 fully trained. Thats for every skill cept magery thats locked at tame. So for example if it has 97.6 resist spells at fresh tame it will go up to 121.6 resist spells fully trained. Anatomy and med are exempt of course cause they only gm.

I have explained why the CC is used by a good deal of us.. most like the CC, but for some of us its not a choice but a need to use it. EC has effects on the brain that can cause headaches, pain in the eyes, and ill feelings to the point of ..well lets just say you dont want to know the whole details. I had a Stroke, and let me tell you I have tried the EC and KR;s version too... I do not wish the feelings I had the full 2 weeks I was using it... on my worst enemy.
    I cant use EC...
If UO went full EC I'd have to quit.... no game is worth that suffering for ones art.

I have similar 'vertigo' effects when first logging into the EC, very much as described above. A friend of mine was the same. It is all about getting it set right, mostly the 'scale' settings and size of gumps, etc. The Majority who have this problem just haven't taken the time to get it set up right. The EC is pretty unplayable when it is first entered into with the default settings. If you're having problems with the above effects but really want to give the EC a go, then get on icq with me and I will assist you to set up right. 99% of those I have 'trained' in the EC will never go back to the CC and a lot of those had the same headaches, etc etc and I have trained a LOT of players in using the EC. Download the client, install Pinko's and msg me for my icq.

Lady Storm may have unique problems but most EC haters don't.

I find it really funny that most of the people in charge of creating and running the game as well as adding the improvements to EC, choose to play Classic. (Mesanna, Most EM's, and a lot of GM's for example) probabaly for the same reason I and many others do, Classic is UO, EC might as well be another game in my mind.

I would venture a guess that the tools made for EMs/GMs, ect haven't been updated to work with the EC.

It's kind of like that insideUo thing.

There is a very good reason why a tamer would want this feature in the CC. The EC doesn't accurately show you pet colours. I'm not talking about cu sidhe, but the last time I checked you couldn't tell if your dragon was red or brown, or whether your nightmare is a short mane, longmane or pure black, or if a white wyrm was pure or that off white colour. So if you're a tamer who likes to know exactly what they're taming, then you need the CC. Or you'll be doing a lot of re-logging to make sure you get what you want lol. Back in the old 3D days you could tame a mare in Ilshenar, but you had to log in to the 2D client to verify if it was actually a longmane or whatever you wanted. The EC apparently inherited this problem.

Also, please remember that not everyone can run Pinco's UI. I had it running briefly under Linux but I'm back to the base client now lol. So we need features like this in both *base clients* so everyone can access them.

I do love when folk tell us what client to use though, because that always works, right? If the EC was that great, nobody would need to be told to use it. Some bits of the EC are fantastic and I love them, but others just aren't as good as they should be. And when you don't use Pinco's or UOA the base clients really are in need of some love. There really is no point in players telling each other what they should use when it's up to the devs to polish the EC up a bit more :)
