I spent a bit of time reading about throwing in the forum. I was attracted to this template because of only needing 2 skills to be a powerful mystic, all throwing weapons are one handed and the glaive has one of the highest DPS weapons out there.

I think I understand some of throwings limitations. I also thought that perhaps Dev's will still review some of the short falls with throwing and perhaps adjust that skill a bit.

So, I have almost got him trained up and I thought I would seek some opinions on changes you might consider for skills and suit. I figured I would craft / imbue weapons as I figure things out a bit more, so suggestions you would have along those lines would be appreciated too.

The main theory is to fight behind a RC and throw as he works. I should also add that this isn't supposed to be a Boss solo killer. Just something that could go out and support a group and go PvM some of the higher end mobs solo.

I should also mention that I generally play spell casters. I have dexxers but none that are spell casters.

    ---------
    - Skills
    Anatomy 100
    Bushido 75
    Chivalry 65
    Focus 120
    Mystic 120
    Tactics 120
    Throwing 120

    - Stats
    Str 100 / 110 Hps
    Dex 112 / Stam 142
    Int 67 / Mana 67

    - Suit
    68 / 66 / 64 / 71 / 85

    - Goodies
    FC / FCR - 2/3
    LRC - 100
    LMC - 32
    Mana Regen - 4
    Hit Point Regen - 6
    Hit Chance Increase - 25
    Defense Chance Increase - 5
    Damage Increase - 20
    Kinetic Eater - 5

This is without weapons of course. I also know that DCI is really low, but given limitations I almost always choose HCI over DCI if I have Bushido.

    Opinions?

I hate to tell you but throwing is about as useless as a velet painting of a dolphin getting it on with a whale. lol anyways seriously the throwing is way to super nerfed to be useful. you deal with hit chance penatlites for being to close di for being to far and limited amount of weps. in any pvp situation ive ever been in two targets dont stand in the same spot. so on the fly judement of the perfect distance stoping and hopping your oppent stays still at the same time while as dealing with the first swing always showing a mis bug its competely useless my suggetion is drop throwing for now until it goes through big changes and pick up swords. With a lil luck you might get your hands on that sword of shattered hopes and pull off that bleed walk. TYR

Throwing has it's bugs, but you can also build the template to do great in PvM, and do ok in PvP, (yes, there are much better PvP templates)

Here is what I would change on the template: Drop Bushido, lower tactics to 100, raise magery to 92, put the last few points into Chiv. For the Stats, lower Dex to about 90 and put the rest into Mana.

You already have mage armor on, so adding Magery is np. You want to be able to Invis, Gate, Telly, and other stuff, but your main offence is Mysticism and Throwing. The RC is good, but for PvM, lead with a Mass Sleep usually, then AI(with soulglave) or cast a RC. For PvP, I use a Cyclone, even though the distance is leser than the Sglave, it has moving shot. :) that and a Spell Plauge or Two, and you can do ok. Definantly no Solo PvPer, but ok in a group, especially with Cleansing Winds. :)

    Thanx for the feedback....

The original theory was to use Bushido for Confidence, and Honor. I took him out and was playing with some lower end stuff last night and I think I can deal with the first throw is always a miss thing. I was a little bit surprised at how often I was missing with 49% Hit chance. It might be hard to achieve perfection with throwing.

I'll try some other stuff tonight and see if it was just the mobs I was playing with. I didn't notice the range differences and damage, but wasn't looking for it last night. I was hoping that throwing would be similar to archery in PvM.

Since I'm already comfortable playing spell casters, I might just go with the suggestion to drop Bushido and add magery. I always seem to miss not being able to invis. I'll test the existing template for a bit longer and post back with observations.

Again, thanx for the feedback. Any other opinions / suggestions?

    Q

Edit Addition: One of the hardest things so far was to find 100% poison throwing weapon. Is it just me or do the 100% weapons for gargoyles seem to drop less frequently than the other weapons?

I have completed 120 throwing. My template has 55 hit chance and I am able to achieve perfection on Narvey and all of the other mini spawn bosses. I noticed that I missed alot until I hit about 115 skill and then quit missing as much. I also have noticed that the first shot miss bug seems to not happen when you let the character auto target.

I have not soloed anything big with this yet since I am still working the other skills, But I am having some fun with this. I have recieved 3 tangles and 1 night eyes while doing Narvey.

Guess I was just repling to let you know the misses will be less as you approach 120 throwing.

Oh and I would keep Bushido for the lightning strike. To invis when needed, I use the potions.
