Mysticism - Enchant

    Was hoping someone could answer a couple questions about this spell for me...

    1) Can you enchant a weapon to give the Hit Area properties such as Hit Cold Area, Hit Fire Area, etc.?
    2) What exactly is the percentage it enchants with? does it give say 10% hit lightning, 50% hit lightning, 100% hit lighting?
    3) Other than mysticism/imbuing causing the enchanted weapon to be spell channeling if both are over 80, what effect does mysticism/imbuing have on this spell? does it increase your choices of what hit effects you can use? does it increase the % on the hit effects?

    1) No, the options are: hit fireball, hit lightning, hit harm, hit magic arrow and hit dispel.

    2/3) the weight depends on your mysticism and imbuing. I believe the formula is 50x(mysticism+imbuing)/240. (so at 120 mysticm+imbuing you can add 50% hit lightning; with no imbuing at all the max is 25%, 29% on a human due to JoaT)

    (note that you can't enchant a weapon that already has a hit-spell effect)

    thats exactly right I have 95.1 myst and 117.2 imbue and my percent is 44

    If I remember, the SpellChannel will also give -1 fast cast penalty :(

    I'm thinking about eventually creating a mystic-warrior, but 240 skill points is a huge investment for warriors.

    You dont need healing skill, just use healing wind, as your weapon is SC with enchant spell:) And theres healing stone aswell..

    actually I am loving enchant weapon on my gargoyle
    I have imbuing 117 atm
    eval
    magery
    mysticism
    med
    music
    peace or discord
    you could replace music and peace for tact
    and either anat or even stealth or you could go with weapon skill

    i run with 1 handed weapon with shield
    i have reflect of about 50
    the weapon has spell channel, faster cast,mage weapon, di and hci
    i wear jewels with + magery
    i enchant my weapon with spell hit lightning or fire ball depending on monsters i get 44%
    so now i can cast spells while fighting basicly gives my weapon an extra mod and it seems to last about as long as my summons do!
    great for fighter mage sypes in my opinion

    I was thinking about this spell, and I dunno. I'm very disappointed.
    pro = hit spell
    con = faster casting -1
    neutral = spellchannelling
    con? = unknown length of time spell ends. No indication both visually or audible.

    If I was a mage gargoyle and I wanted a boomerrang with mage -20, I would NEED spell channeling. I won't depend on this spell for that. I also would not want the -1 faster casting penalty.

    I wonder if i had a boomerang with -20 mage, SC no penalty, if I cast this spell I would get a -20 mage, SC -1 FC, hit lightning afterwards? I guess the hit lightning will knock my faster casting.
    *sigh* Why does everything have to have a negative to it? Why can't it just enchant with just hit spell and that's it? At 120/120 real skill this spell should have NO DOWNSIDES. We should have a reward for being a legend.

    it lasts about as long as summons (maybe 1 or 2 min I can time it if needed) for me but I am at the upper end of the skills as for putting on boomerang I dont recommend it i tried it with 120 magery and -20 boomerang and plus jewels I tried to hit a mongbat at prim distance and must have thrown 40 times never ever hitting the mongbat its like mage item doesnt work or i am doing something wrong I even tried up close and far away ..

    I haven't tried throwing with mage weapon yet, but make sure you aren't carrying a shield.

    well just tried it with no shield I can kill greater mongbats in 2 hits and thats with lightning of 45% tried lowland bora and took forever finally got tired and ebolted him now this is on a mage type so with tactics and with anatomy bushido and chive it might be a ok skill it definatly takes good timing and the right distance I will try it later on my warrior
    but so far I would have to give it a thumbs down ! I do much better with a mage and a bow and you dont have to worry about distance!

    Any method of fighting boura will feel slow after you walk up to them with a fencer wielding a butcher's war cleaver imbued with leeching + bovine slayer talisman :)

    Would a mage weap boomerang with a shield with hci help compensate for the penalty of having the shield? Like what is the HCI penalty if you have a shield? What would I need to help compensate?

    I think it is 15 but am not sure I still have 2 or 3 shields that are plus 15 hci that might be a good combo hmmm!

    I believe it works like %chance to hit with shield = %chance without shield * (parrying/some-big-number) and applied after HCI. This means that with 0 parrying, your chance to hit is 0 no matter what your HCI.

    id like this spell a lot better if it would do hit area effects, or if it didnt override other hit effects already on it, or only overrode hit effects that are available to be enchanted on the weapon i.e. - hit light overrides hit fireball, hit lightning, hit harm, hit magic arrow and hit dispel

    I doubt the chance to hit is 0. It's diminished without parry, but can't be 0. Boy... what a way to nerf this "new" skill called Throwing. Instead of allowing a cramped mage/mystic template be able to be somewhat viable with mage weapon boomerang, looks like I'm forced to go with the good old mage weapon sword if i'm to use my Arcane shield.
    I would've preferred Enchant weapon to give some HCI or a leech, rather than SpellChannel. And Hit Area would've been nice, so that we could be a tiny bit more effective at a spawn or something.

    I'm pretty sure it really is zero - easy enough to test, take a gargoyle with 0 parrying and throw at slimes until you hit.

    It's not so much that it's nerfed as the UI description is a little awkward: think of throwing weapons as actually being 2-handed weapon like any archery weapon but with the option of being 1-handed if you take parrying skill.

    you know, they said mysticism is supposed to be a full-fledged magery for gargoyles.

    i really did assume, prior to launch, that they were going to make mysticism weapons. don't really see the logic why they didn't. should be weapons with "mysticism weapon -24" properties on them. would certainly make sense and fix a lot imo.
