I've fought Navery with several groups of people, and a few of them I've noticed never EVER get webbed or teleported by Navery.

I've asked two of them in particular (one was a gargoyle tamer and the other was a human warrior) and neither of them know why they are exempt from this attack. But they were both well aware of this special ability.

    Anyone know why?

What much of it is, is that they have several spots they prefer to engage Navery from, that have elevation/Z-Axis issues with Navery's web attacks. They may not consciously realize that, but they're going by what's always been safe spots in previous fights to where it's become routine.

There are some spots, that 90% of the time, even if Navery hits you with a web, it doesn't actually STICK to you. You are still able to cast, shoot, etc. from that spot, or be teleported off (which requires you to be immobilized by the web). And, even if that does hit, there's also a few spots that if you get "stuck" to from being thrown across the cavern, you aren't really stuck and can move immediately.

What spots are targetable, but to no effect, or not targetable by Navery even though you can shoot at her (or cast healing spells on your pet), depend on the location and elevation of Navery at the time.

I'm pretty sure, as mage, that sometimes you get lucky when you cast and are "already paralyzed" when the web hits, thus you don't get webbed.

As a dexxer, I seem to get thrown via web less often.

Its actually pretty simple, i myself rarely get paralysed because i go into protection.

By doing this spells are slower to cast and there is a higher chance of casting when getting hit by the web and therefore not being paralysed...Not sure on a dexxer though.

I always thought it had to do with how much damage you do. With my archer when I changed to a repeater bow and did less damage per hit I seem to get webbed less often. Maybe that's just my perception but the only explanation I came up with so far. I will have to try the elevation thing as well though since that actually makes sense. What ever has happened a tangle still eludes me :sad2:

as a tamer i get webbed often, even though im not flagged by her
as a magei do get webbed and can sometimes cast through it, i didnt realize it was the protection spell i thought it might have been wraith form(which in fel allows you to move through things) but yes it seems archers and melee fighters get thrown quite a bit.

It isn't the protection spell that does it alone.

The web attempts to paralyze you for a set amount of time. If you try to use the mage's paralyze spell on a mage who is casting a long spell, you will get a message about the mage already being paralyzed. Try that out sometime with a friend.

I'm not exactly sure if the same thing happens with the web as it does for the magery spell, but I assume the function is the same. So if the web hits while you cast a spell and you are already paralyzed due to the spell cast time then you end up with a target cursor and free movement out of the web, hehe, because the web, in theory, can't paralyze what is already paralyzed.

My disco tamer never, ever, ever gets webbed. Even if I am mindblasting repeatedly and I'm the only one there.

I've gotten webbed while stealthing before.
Also gotten webbed while trying to hit all the pillars, never engaging Navery.

Thats spot on from what iv seen, if your casting a spell the paralizes you, you are already paralized so you dont get webbed. After figuring it out i cast spells constantly even if not needed as the next cancles the previous and thus never get webbed ;)

this could be valid in every way.
but... when I solo her, none of that applies to why I don't get webbed. For example if I run around never casting, I hear the high pitch "heeee" of the web shooting, but I don't see it. A friend of mine who is an archer, doesn't get webbed ever either I witnessed today.

    goodness lol
