Have you ever started making a thread, only to think that someone else might have already made a thread very similar? Want your answers & info quick? Well, our newest forum feature will do just that!

Similar Threads is based on the Title of a thread. It will not search through the content of threads and it will only screen through the present forum you are in.

There are two ways to see what Similar Threads are available:
1 - When making a new post, the top-5 similar threads will appear _under_ the title box:
    upload_2015-6-27_18-15-30.png

2 - When making a reply, the top-5 similar threads will appear _under_ the quick-reply box:
    upload_2015-6-27_18-14-32.png

If there are any questions, feel free to post here. Will leave this thread open for a few weeks.

if theres a way, i would eliminate some common key words from the search that many totally unrelated threads contain.

    Examples:
    buying
    selling
    wtb
    wts
    looking to buy
    looking to sell
    rares
    EM
    taking offers

those are the main ones. depending on how relevant the search is to be, many other keywords such as armor type, or ring / bracelet could be eliminated. obviously those key words usually mean nothing when looking for jewel or amor piece in favor of the actual stats on the item.

interesting concept and i can see it being useful, now ive also been getting pms and icqs lately about armor thats been sold for months, and many of the posts that come up are really, really out of date. we will see how much necroing comes about from the new feature.

Can there be an option to turn that off? Thanks!

Unfortunately we cannot turn it off for individuals and would have to remove it from Stratics entirely. There is a suggestion thread started if you have other suggestion on this topic already if you would like to provide further feedback: http://stratics.com/threads/a-way-to-improve-the-related-thread-section.345780/.

    Thanks!

probably a good option for now. its a very useful feature and maybe could be brought back in the future, but would need some more specifics worked out for the search, like even the date posted. one post yesterday a user was very confused why a jewel that sells for about 10m now sold in another thread for 500million. the reason, the other thread was over 2 years old and alot of loot changes since then.
