/sign I'd like to create my own list of forums as well that lists only the ones I like to follow. The catch is that they have to be listed in a format that allows me to see when there are unread posts.

The way I've always done that is create a folder on my bookmarks toolbar, call it Stratics Boards then add links to my most frequently visited boards.

On these new boards I particularly like this link: Recent Activity | Stratics Forums

  5. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but if you use Firefox you can easily create a Bookmark Toolbar shortcut. Just navigate to any web page you want as a shortcut, and drag the tab to your Bookmark Toolbar, and it creates a shortcut for you. You can do the same in Chrome, but have to right-click on the Toolbar and +AddPage.

I use UO Stratics Forums | Stratics Forums for my shortcut, and it's a single click away!

That's still a list of every single forum, which is the same as just going to the page with the list of every single forum.

    Not what was asked for.

If the thing that was asked for does not exist, the correct answer to the OP would be a simple "No, there is no feature on this forum that does that. Sorry."

Actually, it's considerably quicker than going to the index page, especially considering that clicking the button indicated brings you directly to the forum category that you're already browsing.

thx for all the suggestions but the only one that works is like pops said - the browser favorites. only it adds an extra bar of space taken away :(
thats ok i guess i can live with that

That is a very useful feature Syrus, thanks for pointing it out. It still has the problem of not showing which forums have unread posts (which would be the same problem with bookmarks) but it's much nice to use when I know exactly which forum I want to go check out.
Another option that would be nice and along the same idea of what I'd like is something like "spy" but where I can configure which forums it watches.

Also, I've been wondering if there is a way to mark certain posts that you like and want to be able to find again, e.g. I've been wanting to be able to quickly get back to all posts that have useful info about how to reforge. I tried "liking" the posts but then couldn't find a place that listed all the posts that I'd liked (only mine that have been liked), perhaps the bookmark feature is what I need?

And finally, I noticed you guys added in the quickjumps between threads in a forum. Awesome! Currently they jump from one thread to the next regardless of whether you have already read a thread, the old forums would jump between threads that had unread posts only.

Anyways, not trying to be a complaining whiner or anything. Just wanting to know if these things exist and like to offer up suggestions for future features. I kinda recently decided that I wanted to figure out the forums as well as I can so I can make the most use of them and so I've been asking a lot of these questions lately. sorry!

The different icons to show marked threads work, but unfortunately they require cookies to see. Most users can tell by the blue or yellow dot at the beginning of the title.

See here: How to View Threads | Stratics Forums.

Yes, I want the same thing. The creator of the "Spy" plugin says he's too busy to make adjustments right now, but I'll keep bugging him about better customization.

Yes, the bookmark feature is the one you're looking for. It also works for profile comments.

Do you mean the links at the top/bottom to view the next thread? I just installed this tonight. If he upgrades the plugin to "view next unread thread," I'll update it.

No worries. We've set up a forum for suggestions and bug reports so we don't full up UHall. It's located here: Suggestions and Bug Reports | Stratics Forums.
