From what I remember the Crimson Dragon jewels are just regular gems not special ones like from the strangers.

There are some of the old X-Mas tree sized gems dropping with the crimson you just have to be quick. I have found several in the past few weeks. They just drop a lot less than the stranger's did.

They look different and don't stack
See the Ruby stacks and Amethyst stacks below
Top row original style, bottom row "new"

One thing I have done is to make a box with a row of 2 of each of the normal gems at the top. I drop the gems I collect from the Crimsons into the box - those that don't stack with the 9 normal gem piles are the new ones.

The drops for stranger and crimson should be identical.. thats what I'm told by other players in game atleast. I wasn't around for the six.

I also think you cant sell them to NPCs, not sure if that was me trying it and failing or me trying it and realising.

The reason I say that is because two of the ruby graphics are identical. And, FYI, there are 13 different ones (of the new ones) out of a possible 16 that can drop - unless someone else knows different.

You can sell them, as I did with them all.

I thought there was only 12 different types, 6 rubies, 3 amethyst and 3 citrine. What are the other types that I am missing?
I could sell them to jewelers but not to provisioners btw.

I believe there was a larger than normal version of Amber, but I've not seen one of those since the Six.

I think someone posted that there were 6 new rubies, 3 citrines and 3 amethysts as well. So far I am missing 1 of the amethysts.

Normally, I keep all normal gems that I loot in my resources container and don't sell them (some crafted arties needs normal gems as part of the ingredients).

So when I managed to snaffle some of the gems from the crimmy dragon, I just drop the gems I looted into my resources container. Since they won't stack with the normal gems, if the item count of the container increases, I will know that I managed to pick up some of the new gems. Then I'll move them into my event items container :)

Are these new gems the same as the gems that you get from gem carts? Those are larger than the regular ones and won't stack with them either.

I believe this is all of them. I have gotten quite a few off the ground at the dragons, but you have to nab them fast and really look to see them... I keep them stored in my nifty "A Magical Lockbox" which we are STILL waiting to see what they do. Here is hoping somewhere down the line that the combo of gems and lockbox do something sweet!

I've also found that you can't sell some of the gems from the gem cart.
