    Being that these spell effects have log been toggle effects, it makes no sense to me.

    That said & aside however, is ANYONE able to explain the need that brought about this change???

    Was anyone clamoring for this to be changed???

    Or have the Dev(ills) once more "fixed" what was never broken???

    IMO, it was broken. You could use a soul stone to put 100 inscription on a character, cast Protection, Spell Reflection, and Reactive Armor as needed then stone off inscription and still keep the bonuses you get from inscription...

    It wasn't a great fix to the problem, but this is exactly what many people were exploiting.

    Having the Inscription bonus puts your resists 0/5/5/5/5 higher than usual. Unfortunately, people were using this bonus even after soul stoning the Inscription skill off their template.

    In any case, one might argue that spells like Reactive Armor, Spell Reflection, and Protection were never meant to be used by non-mages. The spells were designed to give mages an advantage back when our armor had to be medable, and were mostly limited to the weaker leather type armors whereas dexxers could use stronger protection in the form of metal armors.
