Ask the Devs Week in Review

With a publish going out most of the Dev posts the past few weeks have been on test shard. We'll alter the review this week to include messages from Test Shard as well as an update from Cal on Memorials in UO:

Messana posted a list of New Artifacts found over on UO Test Center These include:
    Ironwood Composite Bow (Composite Bow)
    Claws of the Berzerker (Tekagi)
    Resonant Staff of Enlightenment (Quarterstaff)
    Standard of Chaos (Double Bladed)
    Axe of Abandon (Large Battle)
    The Impaler's Pick (Hammer Pick)
    Demon Hunter's Standard (Spear)
    Vampiric Essense (Cutlass)
    Cavalry's Folly (Bladed Staff)
    Jade War Axe (War)

Wall of Hungry Mouths (Heater Shield)
    Sign of Order (Order Shield)
    Sign of Chaos (Chaos Shield)
Defender of the Magus (Metal Shield)

Animated Legs of the Insane Tinker (Plate Legs)
Protector of the Battle Mage (Leather Tunic)
    Basiliks Hide Breastplate (Dragon Breastplate)

    Fallen Mystic's Spellbook (Mysticism Spellbook)

    Crown of Arcane Temperament (Circlet)

Mantle of the Fallen (Cloth Shirt)
    Void Enfused Kilt (Plate Kilt)
    Dragon Jade Earrings (Earrings)
    Torc of the Guardians (Necklace)
    Obsidian Earrings (earrings)
    Spined Bloodworm Bracers (Cloth Arms)

Phoenix_Mythic commented on feedback I offered on Gypsy camps and whether they would interfere with existing houses as well as new loot being offered:

Tent's can't spawn in such a way that any part of the tent intersects anything that blocks movement. They can spawn *over* things that block movement, so long as nothing pokes through the top and no part of the actual tent appears in a place a player can't normally step on. The terrain for the tent doesn't have to be flat, but it can't be too uneven either.

This means they can appear in places that houses can't, and they won't pop in over someone's house.

If the tent can't spawn, the camp can't spawn.

This means Gypsies will tend to appear on the fringes of civilization, on open areas or lightly wooded areas away from heavily populated areas.
There is something new in the loot list for Gypsy camps that is very rare. I'd be surprised if anyone finds one on Test Center before the publish is rolled out. But, who knows?

    Good luck!

Reporting as a bug with faction title menus, A Rev asked: When in factions, if you try to alter your subtitle...you lose all except your faction rank title.

There is no way that i can find to put it back, no guild title...no skill title just the faction title.

    Billy Teng replied:
This was not mentioned anywhere, but Faction titles will always be displayed when in Factions and traveling in a PvP facet.

Finally Cal Crowner opened discussion on Memorials in UO with his post:

    Hey all,
I just wanted to let you know this is still on the radar. We're still discussing how to implement this.

We can find the area, and we can find a good method for making certain players are sincere about their intent ... the question remains:

How do we handle those from Felucca who wish to honor their friends and family?

There has been plenty of feedback discussing this delicate issue. Please give it some thought and add your input!
