Many citizens gathered last nite at the Fisherman's Brew in Serpent's Hold to meet Captain John Morgan and learn what his mysterious quest was all about. He told us of his somewhat checkered past and how he had amassed a great fortune as a pirate, defeating and plundering ships at sea long ago. Realizing that a pirate's life might be a short one, he sought to protect that which he had acquired and looked to a young mage to create a safe place for his treasures. Along with his flagship, The Calcutta, he had two other vessels brimming with treasure. It would not be wise to hide this fortune with the help of his crew.. being pirates they were somewhat less than trustworthy... so the young mage, Clainin by name, devised a method of hiding the boats entirely within a cavern, accessable only by a magic incantation of three words.

As the years went by Cap'n Morgan was content in his retirement, but recent events have given him reason to once again patrol the high seas. That long ago young mage was the very same Clainin that was slain by the Shadowlords and Melissa and it seems that Captain Morgan seeks the truth regarding Casca's involvement in all this. To that end, he is now in need of his treasure since it seems he has mellowed as he had aged and shows no desire for piracy. Unfortunately, the words of power to gain access to the cavern were written on paper and had been stolen and he now seeks aid from the community to recover them. Shouts of support were answered by the Captain with a call to board the Calcutta and a second boat manned by his First Mate Will. To say the decks were crowded would be a bit of an understatement

Our first stop was the island of Buccaneer's Den where we found four crates covering a magic teleport to the caves beneath the island. Below there awaited all manner of fearsome beasts but the valiant warriors of Legends pushed thru and recovered the first slip of paper from The Toothed One.

We then travelled to the island of Nujel'm, this time by moongate, and made our way to a crypt where we found a teleporter pad to the catacombs below which were guarded by numerous executioners. Near a dock at an underground lake the second slip of paper was recovered.

The final leg of our journey began in Cove where we once again boarded vessels to sail to Loch Lake. It wasn't long before our ship was attacked by an army of sea creatures such as never have been seen before.... with the most fearsome being a large pale blue kraken named Tiny. After a mighty battle, and two deaths by this reporter (see backpack), the third slip of paper was recovered from Tiny's corpse, and Captain Morgan now had the words to transport us all to his stash of treasure.

And what a treasure it is! Cap'n Morgan thanked everyone for their help in recovering the words of power and his fortune and hopefully this will aid in his quest to discover the true intentions of "King" Casca.

For aiding the good Captain small tokens were handed out including his own bottled rum and hats handstitched by the Captain himself! I told you he had mellowed, didn't I? *wink*

That looked like fun. You have a picture of that wine that was given out?
