I didn't write anything down, and some of my information comes from "other" sources, but here's the gist of the first hour (I left after that since it was late)
    1. They plan on putting in teleporters assigned to the town signs which are already there.
    2. Having a town sign doesn't guarantee having a teleporter.
    3. I missed the point about one-way teleporters since I had a client issue and had to fix it (ignore list was full)
    4. The town teleporters will be based on having a role played town and given based on recommendations from other "towns" which already have a teleporter.
    5. Kasaven should put a summary on how they will work on Chessy up on catskills.uoem.net . The current plan is to have ours working the same way.
    6. If the teleporters are abused, they will be removed.
    7. It shouldn't matter which facet the role play town is on, everyone has an equal chance at getting one so long as they follow the rules.
    8. The EMs can not place vendor NPCs in player run cities.
    9. If we wish to run quests which involve way-points, the EMs could place a temporary marker (the example given was a book) if they are given enough warning. The given example of enough warning was one week.
    10. The EMs could also place a locked book at the town markers for an in-game reference to news items related to that town. The books will be "locked" and only can be edited by a pre-approved member of the town, and only through the EM.

I can't remember any other points, but there was more... something about the EMs getting a mailbox?

A link to the Chesapeake meeting about the same thing:
    http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=167586

I show this link because the actual content of the Catskills meeting wasn't much different. A few of the details have been tuned, but overall the questions and answers were almost the same. The Chessies were just better behaved.

If an RP guild town wants a teleporter in their area, they have to get the "approval" of other rp guilds? Am I the only one that sees a major flaw in that idea?

Just to clarify (in case someone else's interpretation is different than mine), this is exactly what Mesanna said on that matter:
And yes, there is a major flaw in that idea. I don't really like the idea of being excluded from possible free advertising/game content/etc simply because someone in UP (as an example, I use my own guild) may not like me. However, given that I haven't seen any better ideas, it should be up to us, as a community, to find a way to make the system less prone to favoritism.

On the same token, this shouldn't be a boone granted to any Tom, **** or HaRrY who just wants a teleporter to their vendor house. Peer approval is probably the system to prevent such an "abuse".

Peer approval is also a way of letting people in the "circle" who otherwise may not have access. We (the Catskills players) know the community better than Mesanna, Kas or Cern (meaning no offense, but there are more of us than there are of them). In other words, it forces the people who want to have a teleporter to "work" for their gift.

So if we take it as a given that the teleporters will happen, how can we prevent abuse, favoritism, cronyism, etc?

    Hey brother...
    Two suggestions...

    First:
Try to save Podolak evil guy and then you can rp the insane assassin (just schedule your attacks with people that enjoy the perspective...)
    Second:
Give the EMs and Mesanna some credit...

On my side... my crew hold a town since Trammel started... then I saw it was a mistake... it prevented my cherished friends from upgrading to castles, keeps or 18x18s... once I decided to drop the town, most upgraded and some got to the top of the house size... now we have over 250 members spread all around... and no way to move them all to a town... unless we bug bunny man.

My point is... let things roll and trust the judgement of the people that work hard for a better Catskills... and above all remember that different playstyles and points of view are what make UO so special.

    (PS: lets be EBIL)

    mmmm... diet evil!

Anyhow, I just thought I'd bring up one point. Of the players involved in making this plan that I know of (including myself, but I've been mostly a nay-sayer so far) on two shards, most of them are not GM of a guild. None of the people who set this plan in motion are involved with the issue you are up in arms about.

That doesn't mean you don't have a point, but remember that of the people involved, many don't know about your personal issues with a tiny forum unless you tell them about it.

Remember, when you start campaigning for a teleporter of your own, that the majority of the roleplayers in Catskills don't even know that board exists. Good luck if you should walk down that path.

First of, I think the teleporters for RP towns are a bad idea. Not for some of the reasons stated here, but because it can bring unwanted elements to a town that will be disruptive. I have no plans of asking for one for Aegis.

That being said, Any RP town that would seek to block a town wanting a teleporter for petty reasons or personal dislikes should think twice before they claim to be open to RPers.

There are many clashes in ego and ideology within the community that in an instance like this may cause guild A from putting the screws to guild B. It is stated within the requirements for the teleporter that a town must be doing public events, this is also an unfair burden to out on RP towns just starting to come together. A teleporter to the fairgrounds may prove a boon to them, but could be blocked by the events requirement as ell as the 3 referring guild thing.

Therefore I will say this now. Any RP town that would like a teleporter and need a guild to refer their town, let me know. I would be happy to be one of those that speak to the "queen" on your behalf. I will not count your buildings, your members or if you have a tavern night into my decision to sponsor you.

I just saw this and have a question. How does the first town get a teleporter?
