A call to arms late last night brought us to the Counselor's Hall in Britain where Candrin Devar told us of a fugitive from justice and our Queen's request that he be apprehended and brought to justice. Due to pressing duties elsewhere Candrin was unable to lead us on this journey but expressed full confidence that we would find our quarry and prevail. With a reminder that capturing the offender alive was preferable, Candrin opened a gate near to a place where Tarin the Hateful was recently spotted and wished us a safe journey. We found ourselves on a small beach just west of Honor shrine. Unfortunately, it seems that Tarin likes to take along a horde of angry monsters on his shore vacations and we were confronted with a nasty herd of them. Battling our way thru we finally managed to confront Tarin the Hateful at the small beach tent where he was relaxing in the sun, listening to the ocean waves. A magical aura surrounding him prevented us from either shackling or attacking him, and he taunted us saying that he would never surrender and then disappearing, leaving behind yet another gaggle of beasts in an attempt to stop us, including a nasty thing called Messenger of Chaos. After defeating the minions a gate appeared on the beach and charging thru it we then found ourselves on the very barren plains of what was once the majestic city of Magencia. Further tests of our steel and spells awaited with the tormented minotaurs proving to be a large stumbling block for this reporter! Fighting our way thru and finally arriving at the Parliment once again we located Tarin the Hateful, who proclaimed, even after our display of power and skill, that we were no match for him. We were cut short of proving him wrong by the appearance of The Mysterious Figure, which looked to be the very same person that showed himself in the Exodus dungeon when we finally found Locke, the tinker. The Mysterious Figure told Tarin that he was no longer useful to him, that he had found another to replace him, one more powerful and evil. Tarin protested and the dark one said he would give him one chance to prove that he could serve him better than the other, and handed him a necklace to channel his evil powers in a battle with the new chosen one. A gate materialized nearby and stepping thru we found ourselves in Destard where Tarin hollered "At the rear of this dungeon is one more evil than me!" The dragons and wyverns that reside in that place seemed very put out by their home being invaded not only by us but by the assorted minions that Tarin had brought along, and let us all know just how much they wanted their peaceful dungeon back again. Arriving finally at the rear of the cave we saw Tarin's evil foe, and the fear in Tarin was barely hidden by his proclamation that he would not die in that place. With the powerful necklace concentrating his evil soul perhaps he truly believed that he was indestructable, but Rocklin's powers, in the end, proved to be greater. (small note here...... there was a very large battle, and at the end of it there was a body, and I *think* it was Tarin that fell and that Rocklin won the day, but to be honest, I am not sure at all that it was) To the victor go the spoils, so the saying goes..... some were lucky enough tonite to loot the corpses and gain special prizes and for everyone, when the battle was over, a trip to a special room with a crystal on a pedestal. Clicking the pedestal would give a replica of a piece of Torin the Hateful's armor. If you were fortunate enough to be able to loot some of the things you may have found were: an Exodus Minion Axe-Arm which dropped from Chaos Messenger the Technicians' Boots dropped by Manifestation of Chaos fromTarin's were chest, gloves, helm, boots, legs, gorget all named " ___ of the Damned" and Sash of Supreme Hatred And finally, a question for you all to ponder..... do you think that the Mysterious Figure is controlled by Orion the Haunted? or that he might possibly be Orion? Time will tell, I suppose.
