    I say if this lag issue is not fixed bye next monday and I personally even hate waiting that long....


    We just close our accts. I mean this is total ****ing bull ****. Not even a reply from EA...

    Well, I for one, have been playing too long, to up n quit.
    This is obviously not a permanaent thing, I've seen it before.

    We have too much time invested in UO, and do not play as much as others, where as our lives our devastated.

    they dont realize that simple updates would ease some of the anxiousness exhibited on this board, even if it was just a simple "were still working on the problem" \

    I actually think this might be a good idea ;)
    IF and only if, the majority of us closed down for a month, they would see the effect.
    If only a few did, wouldnt work. Would have to be a majority group effort to have the desired effect.

    but yeah, I could save $52 for a month, to prove a point.

    HAH! You young pups call this lag? Why, back in MY day, we were disconnected every ten minutes by the sheer overuse of servers, and then when we tried to reconnect, we were told the shard was full. Even if you DID manage to log back in, you'd just be a corpse in the middle of a dungeon, and somebody would have stolen all your stuff. Lag. Hah.

    You kids today are all a bunch of spoiled brats, I tell ya.

    *grumps off, mumbling something about "uphill, both ways"...*

    I dont care how bad the lag was back in the day....i really dont

    I play today and the fact is the lag sucks and it is hindering my enjoyment....i take little or no solice that you and other people had to endure the lag 'way back when' I DONT CARE

    I want the lag that is happening today fixed!

    ANd get over yourself
     
  7. Several accounts down now, 2 more to go... one expires tomorrow and the other next week. I won't give them anymore $$! Even if the lag is fixed by then I think i'm done. Enough has been proven over the last 3 weeks.

    Yeah, back in that day, we expected it tho...We were all on dialup, lots of us that didnt even have 56k...Internet was new to us, UO and online gaming was new, we all expected it, and accepted it.
    Now, its high speed cable and fast conns and faster processors, and I for one feel there is absolutely no excuse for it. Not for this length of time, and not without any information about what and why...

    oh yeah, ya left off the part about *in the snow and freezing rain with holey shoes*
    ;)

    I just switched shards to wait out the lag storm. I have great connections to Europa right now.

    I figure that when enough of you quit, the lag problem will go away.

    I'm with ya, I don't mind saving 52 a month on my CC bill. :) I'm expirencing 100% packet loss over most of my hops. I don't know how to post the UOTrace route logs on here without it turning into a jumbled mess. I did send the trace route logs to EAMythic, and not so much as a automated we received you email. I'm with you if by monday this ain't fixed then let's all make like pigeons on a statue and POOP ON EM and leave.

    If my boss treated customers like EAMythic is treating us, he wouldn't have a business, and would be in bankruptcy court. No exagerration there folks pure cold fact. We're a small business and mistreating customers would "Titanic" us for sure. My boss's philosphy "A happy customer comes back many times, a unhappy customer never comes back." Okay so he's not "Mr. Miyagi" but its still sage advice.

    I'm no happier about the lag than anyone else, but hey, we've had it before, and it's been fixed before. Given the amount of attention that has been focused on this latest outbreak, I have no doubt that it will be fixed again.

    Hmmmm... Plague of Lag. Was that one of those biblical thingies...?

    Im just frusterated with the lag and have read other posts were they say "you dont know what lag is!" Jumped the gun on your post

    Has anyone thought that is what EA whats us to do, is quit. That way they will blame the shutting down on UO on the players and not them.

    No worries. :) I should have included the bit about freezing rain and holes in the shoes. Definitely would have been more obvious then. :D

    It seems to me that the big problem here isn't so much the lag, but the lack of communication as to what might be causing it and when it's expected to be fixed. The fact that it popped up right after a big publish means it's likely associated with either a bug fix from a different issue or one of the new features. I suspect a lot of the ill feelings would be soothed if the dev team just said, yep, we think we know where the problem is, and we estimate *X amount of time* before we have it repaired.

    EDITED to add:
    If this was their cunning and sinister master plan, they wouldn't be reinstating the Event Moderator program, or working on an expansion pack.

    To steal and subsequently mangle a phrase from Freud, sometimes lag is just lag...

    And that has been the problem with so many things, for the last two years. Communication is a two way street, or should be. We send in traceroutes and whatever, and there is stone silence...
    Were we asked for traceroutes because they thought it would give us something to do and some false hope that all was soon to be well? Or did they really want em, to analyze and correct the problem. If the latter, why haven't we heard anything about it?
    I'm as computer illiterate as they come, but I can look at the traceroute and see Fert07 and 08 being problem children... How about a timeline for a fix? Or a cause for the problem?
    Why was Beastmaster having to troubleshoot this? Why do we have a modders exchange? WTH are the paying players having to sail this ship?

    I'm not canceling anything. We've had these problems before and we'll have em again, but they aren't permanent problems.

    I'm thinking about opening a 3rd account actually.

    Ok back to topic. Im one person that hates to see anyone go...But if you do go....

    Where do you live and what shard? Also are you going to give your stuff away proving you will not be back? or are you going to pack your toons up then close your accounts? just curious.

    But If I could have those cords and what shard :p

    I've personally never had an issue this bad, with this much lack of response EVER in this game. If you're comfortable paying for this, fine. Don't ask me to be. In fact, 9 years of playing and I hate these boards because of how many people complain here. I just can't sit back and watch as we're being ignored. At least during AOS, they TRIED to make it up to us. I'll watch and wait for a similar response. It doesn't look like that's going to happen at this pace...And I'm not going to wait much longer.

    But seeing as how some people on those shards that "lag bad" are not lagging at all, this is lag is not as easy as a 5 minute fix as everybody seems to be trying to claim.
