ok I was bored and watched the DEV video thing. In it they were asked about the old fish not stacking. The response was that the fish are stacking. View attachment 5553

I caught those this morning and they do not stack. I wonder what their response will be next time.

How the hell can they not know? Many have posted it over and over and over and over!?!?!

Poor Excuse for a Dev team slipping further and further into the bottomless pit of FAILURE!

Maybe they trust uobugs.com that we write bug reports. On the other hand who knows if they really read them ...

I don't think it matters. I seriously doubt they know what the devil we are talking about unless we SHOW them. Otherwise they "assume" they know what we are talking about when infact they don't know jack... and since they don't visit us often enough to really SEE what the heck is going on or NOT going on as the case may be... they continue to foolishly believe that NOTHING is in fact wrong and we are all blowing smoke up their arse and we the players do NOT infact know diddly about the game we all spend hours and hours playing and they DO NOT.

Put the dagger on a hotkey and make steaks between cast. Not like your going to hold fisher skill gain back just to catch the trainer fish. Otherwise only person that would want them to waste time fixing this is those playing with a coin shoved in next to the F1 or running something naughty. Santa's watching.

    and someone asked them
"Have any purpose of fishing without getting PowerScrolls?"

They said "There are Trophies and Fishpies"

I could hardly believe my ears.
We spent 15$ only PowerScrolls,Trophies,Fishpies, moreover scrolls seldom got.
    Substantially,added only Trophie,Fishpies.

  9. That's what I thought too, but problem is, fish steaks cut from the non-stacking fish also do not stack. So, what you'll end up with is a pack full of non-stacking fish steaks.

The thing that really got me was, the question regarding the value of crabs and lobsters was asked TWICE, and the developers still didn't acknowledge the problem. The first time it was asked , they said they didn't understand the question (which admittedly was asked in a confusing way). Then, the question was clarified and asked again, and the developer response was, that players can't know what the fish are worth, because they don't know the tier breakdowns of the drops.

    OK Developers, PAY ATTENTION!!:

When you do a fishing quest and are awarded bait, the number of bait in the bait cup corresponds exactly with the point value of the fish in the order. Crabs and lobsters are being valued a .5 point each, even though developers have said but on message boards and again in the video that they should be worth 2 points each. So, players can in fact tell exactly how much each type of fish is worth.

Again, if you do an order with 10 hummer lobster, you'll be awarded 5 bait. If you do a quest with 20 snow crab you will be awarded 10 bait. 1/2 point per crab. One half point per lobster. 1/2. One half. 0.5.

Then, what really got me was the guy sitting behind Cal (sorry, I didn't note all the names), who then went on to say that players shouldn't be griping that catching crabs and lobsters are a pain in the ass because, little do players know, they are being credited 2 points each! WELL NO MR DEVELOPER. Players are quite aware of the f'd up situation; and to summarize again, catching crabs and lobsters are in fact a pain in the ass, and the situation is made doubly worse (maybe quadruply worse) by the fact that we're credit ONE HALF point per crab or lobster.

So, that's 2 changes that should be super easy.

#1 Make normal fish (and the steaks you get from cutting them up) stack. Just like they used to. Before you f'd that up.

#2 Someone screwed up and divided the value of crabs and lobsters by 2, when in fact they should have multiplied by 2. So, someone go into the code and change the "/" to a "*".

    1. I sent a PM to Mark explaining it more clearly.

    2. You folks are WRONG about the crabs "counting as 0.5", and are confusing Mark and the others, because you are MIXING UP two sets of numbers. They are counting as ONE (like shallow water fish), and the deep water fish are counted as 2.

    A. Shallow fish count as 1
    B. Deep Fish count as 2
    C. Dungeon fish count as 3.
    D. Crabs & Lobsters are SUPPOSED to count as 2, but they are counted as 1, currently.

    E. Where the 0.5 and 1.5 confusion comes in is that the reward baits DIVIDE THE COUNT IN A-D. BY TWO.

    Therefore, A-D look as follows:
    a. Shallow fish count as 1 point on the reward chart; if the chart decides the reward is "Bait", it counts 0.5 uses (rounds down) per fish as part of the determination of bait up size.
    b. Deep Fish count as 2 points on the reward chart; Bait rewards count as 1.0 uses per fish as part of the determination of bait up size.
    c. Dungeon fish count as 3 points on the reward chart; Bait Rewards count as 1.5 uses (rounds down) per fish as part of the determination of bait up size.
    d. Crabs & Lobsters are SUPPOSED to count as 2 points per fish (or, 1.0 uses per "fish" for bait cups), but they are counted as in a, currently.

The Devs are describing one side of the equation, the complaints are describing the other side, and both are thinking the other side is sounding clueless, because both ASSUME that they are talking about the same side of the equation.

IF they counted as "0.5" and Deep water fish counted as "2", then a 20-count single line Crab quest would give FIVE bait. They Don't; They give 10 bait. I'm surprised this has been going over people's heads in this argument for weeks.

    Exactly, ikaikaman...

It's the fact that the 0.5 & 1.5 numbers keep getting used that's keeping the Devs from understanding what is meant, as from their viewpoints they are dealing with the integers 1, 2 and 3, and there's no decimals involved.

What Basara says. On the devs' side, they coded the points in integers. Total points determines which bracket of rewards you get. The 10 point bracket gives 5 bait.

Without knowing exactly how the code works, players naturally use the amount of bait to determine how many points each type of catch is worth.

Resulting in the observation that 10 lobsters give only 5 bait, so it must mean that they are worth 0.5 points each.

Confusion was partly due to the statistics gained by Tane here:
    http://vboards.stratics.com/uo-fishing-treasure-hunting/224970-fishing-quest-rewards.html

The weird thing is that Mark actually read that particular thread and commented on it. It should have triggered some memory of the thread at the back of his mind where people are getting the 0.5 and 1.5.

Probably a better way to have asked would be to ask "why are 10 lobsters only worth 5 baits?"

BTW, I think I know why they aren't aware of the non-stacking regular fish...

They were doing their testing in HS-enabled test accounts, testing the new features, which meant they were probably setting their fishing above the threshold where "non-named" fish stopped occuring.

As a result, it probably never crossed their mind to test the "Normal" fish on HS accounts well below GM skill, or non-HS accounts, as the changes weren't as obvious.

After all, if we could avoid it, I don't think any of us regular players would want to train up fishing, unless it was the only way to get there (for free), or already trained our fishers up long ago. The few people affected are those HS-enabled people who are just now training fishing, or fishers who have not yet bought HS (and both groups are tiny compared to the number of people who bought HS that already had a fisher at or near GM).
