I hope they don't go that route. That's wayyyyyy to over complicated and frankly unecessary.

A pet revamp doesn't need that depth of customization.

I would venture to say that most were hoping to make the older weaker pets up to par instead of having to just use one or two animals to pvm.

Also a new pet or two goes a long ways, which is good.

I like the idea of the training status bar, because frankly I never know when my pet is full trained.

Well, that is what's happening here, just not as you are imagining it. I like this idea waaaaay more than just upping the stats/resists of a dozen old pets, though you could do just that with this system.

It's really no more complicated than imbuing, which is fairly intuitive.

This made me giggle a little bit ;) Sticky Skin....hmmm lol

Also when I logged back in right after they fixed the training issue my pet was spouting a bunch of stuff...but stopped shortly after.

Sure, you have a point and is really just a difference of opinion.

I recall being against the imbuing idea.

However it is possible I don't grasp the entirety of the changes.

Chivalry was nerfed to high hell because of PvP.
Poisoning, Necro, Ninja, ALL MELEE SKILLS....ect. even the new masteries are getting nerfed because PvP'ers are crying.

This day and age they should turn one of the servers into a PvP only server then get rid of it from the rest of the servers. PvP players are a minority that ruin new stuff for everyone else.
That way we can have PvM rulesets and PvP without trying to balance the two (which CANNOT be done).

Yeah they took most of the usefulness of Ninjitsu and Bushido from archers... there are so few moves archers can use they just hardly are worth dumping skill points into them. Not like they have many moves to begin with and to not be able to use most of them just because you are ranged is BS IMO...

Not to mention it is also do to PvP balance that you can't use any spells or moves while in form... which is also BS IMO....

    Let's break this down.
    1. Chivalry nerfed to high hell? Seems like almost all melee/ranged PvM'ers still use Chivalry and EoO is still incredibly strong. Chivalry being strong at low skill total (60-70) with low/negative karma was not something that was a problem only in PvP, it was a huge issue in PvM as well considering it was more of a staple skill than virtually anything else. Remove Curse, Close Wounds, and Sacred Journey are still as strong as ever to the ire of the PvP community.
    2. Poisoning was never particularly strong in PvM and I'd argue it wasn't supposed to be given the lack of importance on damage over time effects in all aspects of UO combat.
    3. Necro is still a required staple on the most powerful PvM template (sampire, obviously), and the most powerful mass-combat spellcaster (wraith witherer). No clue what you're talking about here given how important Necro still is.
    4. Ninja was clearly never meant to be a strong PvM skill (seriously, look at the skillbook and tell me how the skill could be designed with PvM in mind) and I'd argue outside of people that are mad about specials not being possible in animal form (which was never efficient for either PvP or PvM), there is no argument here either.
    5. All melee skills: what? Swords is still a staple template, a decent amount of people use fencing, and the only time people used macing in PvM was in a time where Berserker's Maul was the weapon of choice.
    6. The new masteries (I can only assume you're talking about Saving Throws being converted into Warrior's Gift) are massively better in PvM than their old counterparts. Disarm blocking in PvM is useless against almost every enemy in the game.
    7. In regards to other masteries, the most complained about mastery is probably Holy Fist. Holy Fist is super strong in PvM and its damage has been completely untouched there as far as I'm aware. A mana and casting time increase is largely irrelevant in PvM as you really shouldn't be using Holy Fist at all in PvM.

What about them was nerfed? I took a break for about ~3 months or so around the time they came out.

I'll ask you, what specific nerfs to your template made it worse?

They're very good weapons, IMO, Magical shortbows are the best weapon Archery has...

What nerf made sampires one of the best templates in pvm?

The people complaint about PvM nerfs are the ones who want to play herders and be on DPS par with sampires...a futile argument imo

For the record Glenda had and has 0 application in PVM..period! If you think it does..there's a reason u can't pvp
