    Greetings, thanks for reading...

Last night I decided to buy a 7th char slot and I noticed the mythic tokens... being an impulsive guy I bought that too. The reason i got the token was I fancied trying poisoning and also I wanted inscription on my mage... that still left me with three skills and an instant max stats (well 225) char.... Ok, so i knew script was going to my mage... that left me with a template dilema, I have not engaged in PVP for some time and when i did my nox fencer was awesome... lets try something new i thought..

I chose the following skills. hide / stealth/ ninja / poison and I had started with 50 in fencing and tacics.

    OK.

Now from here I am kind of at a loss as I dont know what to do :)

I was thinking of this, but as I said I may be way off here.

    120 fencing
    120 hiding
    120 stealth
    120 Ninjitsu
    90 poison
    90 tactics
    70 bushido or Chiv

What I am thinking is use bushi / chiv just for healing . I am thinking an ambush style char is what I am after... was thinking that if i swap between a kryss (AI/Infectious) and a war fork (disarm/bleed) . Steath up, disarm to pretty much assure my next hit, bleed, swap to kryss poison, then death strike / AI.

Now I don't PVP but even I don't run if I get a DS dropped on me... thasts why I thought if I lay down the hurt first before dropping a death strike I should stand a better chance and with DoT from bleed / LP and I will have a blow gun and ninja belt so once i start with the nox fest I can keep then in the green without expending mana.

I am kind of thinking for bushido over chiv as I want to avoid having to have fc/fcr on my suit , but i dont know if i will need this anyhow for ninja...

I guess I just need some input from the pvp or just anyone with knowledge of the template in general.

    thanks.

    Skills:
Most people will run less Hiding and Stealth - say 100/80. You need the 120 Ninja if you plan on using darts/belts and you will need to get used to the fact that they operate on a different targetting mechanism to melee. Make a Last Target macro in uo and use that to poison the target you are meleeing. You will probably want Bush over Chiv for Confidence heal as fitting in enough FC/FCR to make Chiv work will be difficult. You might raise Tacs a little to make sure that you can reach the 35 damage cap with your kryss AI and consider adding some Med.

    Several comments:
This is really more of a support character as it doesn't have the healing to survive protracted battles. You will want 50EP for the stat bonuses when potted and to maximise your healing potions. It delivers large amounts of damage very quickly but if it doesn't win quickly, becomes a huge mana hog. You will want to fit in as much MR/HR as you can to improve your staying power. Aim for 150 str/hits, 150 stamina and over 100 mana (when potted). If you haven't killed your target when the pots run out, it's probably time to run and reload the darts and kryss. No Resist means you will have to be ready with boxes and cures and if you get vamped, run! Useful role is as a stealth dismounter but that won't earn you any friends..;p Have Hit Fireball on the weapons to help disrupt casters and Chiv healing and...pick your targets carefully. Some match ups are just hard, like a Parry Dexer.

Hiding only goes to 100. Bushi is definitely the way to go. If you can find artis to get 30 more points on template like the cloak +20 stealth. Capt johns hat +20 swords. Oak leaf cloak +5 stealth. There is also a robe out there with +10 stealth. I don't recommend shadow dancer pants but in a pinch u can use them. You definitely want to get at least a +20 stat scroll 25 would be better. The higher your bushido the more confidence heals, and at 120 you can nerve strike reliably too. I would even go as far as saying you could sacrifice dci for plus skill jewels.

The template is really good for new players to pvp'ing. You will definetly be called a stealth noob. Don't mind the haters.

It is not made for long fights. You will get frustrated at times. You definetly don't need 150 dex. 90 with pots after curse is good. You could probably legitimately run 60 dex depending on what weapons you are using. Look at the swing speed calculator here on stratics to see if you are swinging at Max speed. That means mana mana mana. You want to dump all that mana as fast as possible too. Do not rely on deathstrike, although it is a great move to finish someone or slow them down in a gank. You definetly need a kryss. Probably 2 so you can poison one in pack while other is armed. Make a UOA macro to poison them in pack.

The rest is up to you. Always, always, always carry a trapped box and smokebombs. Good luck. E

Yeah I will deffo get the max stat scroll. As for suit I will be making it myself, I was trying to avoid using +skill items on jewels but if i dropped the stealth to 100 I could go to 120 with the cloak... good points, that free's me up another 40 skill points.... I was planning on not running med as i am going to reforge MR4 pieces then add HPI Stam inc and Mana inc. if I play my cards right with the base pieces I should be able to get away with a single resist imbue per piece then add on some extra HCI/DCI with enhancing. going woodland armour as the heartwood enhance is awesome I even considered running bracelet of health to complement bushido but suit building isn't to be rushed... nor is deciding my template hehe. suit will be tight though as I need to factor in LMC as well..... Still in 2 minds as wether I should go swords and use a UBWS kryss for the poisoning..... bokbok will swing at max easy and I can imbue a super hatchet for the opening disarm and use bok use nerve strike as you rightly point out. I was planning on using mace and shields so the captains hat would be another thing to consider.

I know what I am doing when it comes to making suits... the only problem is knowing what makes a good suit for this character lol.

I don't mind taking the time to get the right pieces so I should be running very good gear by the time I am finished. I will rig up some trapped boxes and smoke bombs but I already resigned to the fact that if I don't make my kill within the first 10-15 seconds I will either be trying to escape or eating dirt :)

So final temp would look like

    120 Fencing (or swords)
    100 hiding
    100 Stealth (120 with robe)
    120 Ninjitsu
    90 poison
    90 tactics
    110 bushido

If there is anthing else you can add then please feel free to post it... i need all the help i can get lol.

Woodland armor is nonmed. Which means you will not regain mana fast enough to do very much. Unless you have room for Mage armor on it.

Agreed, but it was my understanding that the calculation for MR on items differed from MR from meditation. Ill look it up but I am pretty sure the benifit of the MR property is the same on med/nonmed pieces.

I don't think so. I know that with 12-14 mr and all medable armor you regen waaaay faster than the same mr with even 1 piece of nonmed armor.

The good Capt makes excellent sense but I disagree about the required Stamina. You obviously want to swing at 1.25 as much as possible. 90 won't cut it for a war fork or the slower swords weapons - and even for a kryss or bok you will want 20 ssi to give yourself some leeway. If you really planned on just using 2.0 speed weapons, you could reforge a 40ssi kryss or imbue/enhance a 40 ssi bok and not worry about dex at all..;p Check these links for stamina/swing speed info

The leeway you are talking about is a drop in stam from being hit? I carry refresh pots. But yeah, you can run ssi on them and drop stamina even further. Very good point. I do run 20 ssi on the fork I carry. I have 96 stam after curse and fully potted. The 6 is my leeway I guess.

I also will carry refresh pots and intend to tailor each wepon to its purpose... I will be getting my mana aiming for 150 hp / 100 mana / and around 130 stam from my suit / items, that combined with SSi should keep me swinging nice and fast... thing i am keeping in mind is that I am not going to be involved in long fights so once my mana dump is gone if they aint eating dirt I will be stealthing so I guess the main focu will be on 2sec weps.

My only point is that 150 mana means like 4 chained specials. Where 100 is three chained. Just something to consider.

I'm sorry, capt, but medable armor gets its name from the skill that allows bOnuss to mana regeneration which is meditation. Since meditation is NOT apart of his build, Mana Regeneration will not change between nonmed or med armor. Mana Regeneration as an item property does NOT depend on the meditation skill (and for all intensive purposes, it doesn't affect Focus skill either). Therefor, a player with 0.0 meditation total will get the same benefits from a MR nonmed item opposed to any equally MR med item.

This is a discussion on his last year build. The mechanics have not changed in this area. However, with all this said, if you choose to stealth often, I'd use lighter armor. Typical rule is no more than studded. But Ive heard that the lower requirements property which lowers strength requirement can change this. Though I'd stick with the general rule as this is a grey area. If your real good, your enemies won't even get your name in time for their death. Just remember to go back into hiding! I'm more of a fan of opening surprise attack, mortal then DS, DP/LP w/ darts, explo pot then shadow strike into hiding. And it's faster done sometimes than reading it, if you set all your dressings and hot keys appropriately.
