Alright tamers time to get your fingers loosened up for typing and point and clicking! From time to time im well known for great unique ideas. My last one was for music instruments to have a fast play-fast play recover. It would be much like fc/fr.

But now on to my most recent idea. I do of course hope that this hasnt already been researched. If it has- well then time 2 res it. But till then im claiming as my own idea.

    My idea?

Give Greater dragons ability of fire breath an area of affect around the target. Like 2-3 tiles. What do u think?

Would be heck to integrate into felucia! I can understand where you are coming from on this. It only makes sense right. But unfortunately Uo is a finite world where unintended consequences arrive from the slightest delve into realism. GJ with thinking this one up though and keep on jivin!

    Ah...
    *fades into a memory*

mumbles something about mass curse and a stoopid white wyrm that killed a pet dragon and then owner...

I don't think GDs need any more love tbh. I would much prefer if the devs looked at some of the pets players don't use and gave them a slight boost. Note I said slight. I don't want every pet to be like a variation of the GD heh. But the GD is more than strong enough as it is already IMHO.

I sincerely do not understand why the greater dragon is considered to be too strong.

I mean, back in time a tamer with a ww-nightmare or even a single "regular" dragon had no challenges in game but the ancient wyrm and the balron (and for challenge i mean that you had to vet the pet to kill them).

Now what monster can you kill with a gd? Without letting it die a hundred times because that is not a "mutually beneficial" way of doing things.

I did Rikktor: 2 hour and a half, dead 2 times.
Dark Father? Three hours, dead more often then not.

And i run 120 med, 120 focus, 13 mr, 150 int, so i can spawn greater heal indefinitely (plus the not very useful 120 vet-120 lore)

And lets face it: when i left the "best" pet was the greater dragon, five years later the best pet is... the greater dragon. Nerfed (well, i didn't notice the difference really but i read it has been).

That's why i'm for improvements. A bit 'cause i really want a more powerful pet to enjoy a game that has mostly become single player, a bit because i'd like to see something new.

Ps.: something new AND useful because i got one trained skree and that is a pure joke.

Well, first thing I'd like to say is the GD is just 1 pet. No more important than any other, even if it is the current darling of many tamers and the big stompy guy in the stables. There isn't a best pet. The other pets can still do what they do, and some do more damage in combination than the GD can. A good tamer uses a variety of pets depending on the situation.

As for peerless etc, I don't believe any player should be able to solo the top end monsters as they are right now. And I'm a mostly solo player, so I ought to say the opposite lol. However, when I remember killing AWs and the like, it was either with another tamer and us vetting like crazy or before control slots with a lot of WWs. I still have one of the WWs I used for that hunt. But it was the kind of thing you did once to say you had, then you hunted normal stuff. T maps were a guild night out heh. I'm sure some tamers did spend all their time attacking the tough guys, but among my peers I don't remember anyone like that. Most of us were hunting more modest spawn like blood eles or elder gazers.

So, I don't see a compelling need to make GDs better. Especially not while there are balancing changes coming for other templates. As a normally antisocial player, I think the best way for a tamer to kill a boss faster is to join forces with another player(s). If only because at least you'll get a rez from a friend ;)

I think we play our tamers quite differentely.

:D But i'm not asking for much: just give me a greater dragon barding deed that boosts hp to 10.000, all resistances to 85, triples stats and i'm done. I'm not saying everyone will be forced to use it. I'll do for you. :D
