Live and learn
want to basically solo any monster.. disco tamer..
Do the Spellweaving quest, then beg, borrow or steal a Nature's Fury scroll.
If your character is human, even if you put 0 skill points in SW, with Jack-of-all-trades, you have a 50% chance to cast NF. No need for regs, and 2 or 3 NFs will take down most middle level critters. Throw enough NFs out there, you can drop Lesser Hiryus, if your patient, even the bigger ones.
And lesson #2: gold doesn't mean squat on Siege People matter here. Make friends, much more rewarding and much more fun to do.
Well, the gold was to one day hopefully acquire housing, as I would be dropping my Prod shard house on that account..
you're my hero. what excellent advice, for anywhere at any time, for any one.
Welcome to Siege Perilous,
where old school is still OLD SCHOOL !
Again, go with SW. If you're planning on being a crafter, NF is a resource gather's dream. If you have more combat oriented ideas, again you need not put any more skill points into it, costs nothing but mana to use, and will get you enough gold for a plot in short order.
Sorry for my erm... old folks remark
No, seriously, walk around, see things. Housing on Siege is cheap. You can actually buy a house here for the price the house placement tool says. Not like on production shards where you save up only to see inflation goes faster than you can earn gold.
Lots of housing spots here, great 18x18 places. Or a humble 7x7 to store your stuff. If you make bandies or collect arrows, you can have a 7x7 in 2-3 days.
I'll even buy you a small 8x8 next to my house so I can keep an eye on you!
lol prerecruiting, here's a tip Garth, don't trust this guy.
You can even find spots still for
Towers and sometimes Keeps ...
Lol! Let Garth be for a bit folks. The politics can come later...
Garth, as tedious as it may seem cloth sells well here. At 350 a bolt Siege will snap up every bolt you can make. I have seen it sell for higher...
I am pretty sure most all leather sells well. These are resources you can gather while training skills.
Even though you want to make a go of it alone be sure to read the applicable sticky threads. There is some good info there.
Good timing, I must say... There seem to be lots of new folk about. Post here if you have questions. PM me if you ever need. Good luck and make your mark here. There is no place like it.
Oh yeah, expect death. Prepare for it. Travel light... You remember...
Hey, I tamed a horse, haven't done that since uhhh, 99?
Edited post. I'm not going to argue with you GoodGuy. I'll just stop donating to NEW and new comers, which I've done for about the past year steadily.
Some good ways to make gold early on:
50 swords/tactics char, sheer sheep/kill bulls for leather. Use the bandages to work healing/anatomy. Cotton fields are great for extra bandies/selling cloth. CyberNickel often buys cloth, and leather is a good selling resource. Once you've gotten to 90+ skill Troggs are great to hunt, you can get 1/2s and 10+HCI jewelry with no luck.
Thanks for all the advice, it's greatly appreciated.
