Interested to see what it looks like but can only find it on the 2D client.
maybe use legacy art i dunno
the snow in 2D was probably easy for them to do because they have done it in the past. maybe they couldn't put the man hours into doing it for KR.
where's the snow in KR?
Burned again. Just like 3D.
Yeah, I know... and have become rather used to it... another "Floridian" winter in UO (as well as in real life).
It'd be nice if such things were changed.
The devs seem willing to take the risk with an updated and improved client... but they've yet to seem willing to take the risk to make it a GREAT client.
At least with 3d, we (later) got an explanation of the hellish nightmare the snow was in the 3d client due to tileset differences.
I'd at least like an explanation on this one since it is NOT the old 3d client.
There should be snowy lands in KR, also i miss the weather effects, like rain or fog - those were beautyful...
The clouds were great, but the rain/snow system needs to be reworked into something MUCH more logical (regardless of client).
But as of now there´s NO rain and NO snow in KR.
Ok, the complete system needs to be reworked.
I simply miss notifications and approaches of snow storms or rainy weather in KR
like "a fierce storm approaches"
- 2d gets raindrops and snowflakes
- KR gets nothing
Snow tiles are rather animated in KR with all the sparkles and reflections ... I feel wandering through it puts a bit of strain on my poor old system. As much as I'd like see snow, I'm secretly fearful of what sort of performance hit I'd take.
Yeah, I agree the "additions" to KR snow would be a bit much if appplied over a huge area, but a toned down tileset would be nice to see.
I mean I understand that myself and others have taken a leap into the minority with our acceptance of and work with KR, but it would be nice to be treated a little bit better than the Taste ID and Item ID skills.
An explanation on the laxck of snow would be nice.
A rundown of the gump fixes in the patch would be appreciated.
With the level of customizibility for the KR client, would it be possible for the players to do the replacement for the snow themselves since KR handles things in randomized textures rather than definite tiles?
Not legally. As of right now, we do not have clearance to muck with the ingame artwork in any way, only the UI.
