Open Corpse Macro

    Can we please get a macro or setting that allows us to easily open new corpses? This really should be a standard option, but I would even be happy if they gave this to us as a holiday gift.

    I was in the map room in Doom tonight, and after about 1 minute it became nearly impossible to find the recent corpses and open them. I cannot think of a single legitimate reason this should not be available in both clients.

    I did a tutorial years ago about looting corpses. It mainly focuses on using a lastobject macro along with "auto show corpse names" (can't remember if "auto show corpse names" this is UOAssist only thing, thinking it was "show names of incoming people/creatures" that was added to the 2d client). The above along with setting your windows offset can get you to the point where you loot corpses much faster if not the same as most auto-looters.

    A point that many don't know about is that the last object macro will "dig" through corpses that are stuck on top of one another. E.g. if you click the corpse name and you don't see gold, hold down the last object macro to open corpses underneath :) With that said, this is much easier/quicker than the ctrl+shift handles mentioned above.

    Probably not exactly what you want to hear, but this has served me well over the years. Hope it helps.

    ^This^. I cant tell you how much loot I've pulled from Miasma corpses(back when people went there). The cool thing about these mechanics is a mob can die in a huge pile of the same species.
    When the mob dies the words "a miasma corpse" shows above it, what I learned is clicking on these words from a distance Identifies the corpse to uoa or ec client.
    you can then run to the pile and hit the last object macro and wallah we be lootin, while many others shift thru the pile. Auto ignore corpses is an ec feature that wont bring up a handle on something you've already looted even if you use ctrl/shift for all handles. Since many players don't loot gold anymore waiting the 2 minute instance limit can be lucrative and ez gold(for newer player at low risk). How much gold will not be looted during this invasion scenario will add up to quite a bundle.
    A newer player could run behind veterans and scoop gold up left behind. When I was brand new (about 15 yrs ago) I resorted to picking up anything on the ground to sell to npc's. Some nights backpacks where all there was to sell. There were so many people logged in it was still helpful. End Ramble......

    Should have added this in my post you have to double click on the text of the corpse name when using "auto show corpse name!" The distance object preparation looting is great for archers/mages, it's towards the end of the tutorial.

    *additional off topic* you can use the "text names" for players/mobs to initiate an attack. The only thing that is missing in the original targeting system (the blue health bar targeting) is the ability to auto swap current targets. I believe they implemented it in that fancy targeting system they added a few years back. I personally thought that implementation was sloppy and would much rather have a previous target added to the original targeting system in 2d. It was sloppy for many reasons, the targets health bar, shorter ranges, confusion between UOA and last target/current target/target self and too much complication with mobiles, objects, etc. I dropped it shortly after reporting the cycle crash object count bugs and destruction of the old targeting system.
