I just got my miner out after 6-8 months of inactivity. immediately went to mine some valorite. having about 12 locations to go to, i tried a few and only got iron. Tried some gold and verite also. No success. Anyone know if the ore locations have been changed?

Sorry if this has already been covered.

LOL. Just read the previous post. Sorry
  2. Right, all ore locations are randomized. But it's better for miners than for lumberjacks.

Hit the rocks once with a shovel, then with a prospector tool, then with a gargoyle pick. That's enough promotion so that you will still get a decent amount of val and verite. I feel sorry for the lumberjacks searching all over for something that doesn't exist.

Of course I only use the garg pick in a guarded area like Delucia or the Brit farms [IMG]. I mine to get ingots, not to show off my fighting skills.

Actually not all ore locations are randomized. I was shocked the other day to log on my miner (haven't played UO in years) and discover that I wasn't getting the right ore from my mining spots - till I came here and found out why. I imagine that this has changed the price of ore considerably. What is the current selling price for gold and valorite? It seems I still have a number of locations that are still static, giving the same colored ore every time. I haven't read about that anywhere on here so I assume it's not common knowledge yet.

Actually its Yes all locations. Just some take longer to change to a new ore. Depends how often each spot is mined. The more a spot is mined the higher the chances of changing to a different ore in that spot.
